Natasha

Natasha is from the UK and lives in sunny Spain - specifically Ibiza! 🌞 One of her biggest hobbies is swimming in the ocean, even in winter 🏖️ (can we say that we're jealous yet?)

Natasha had been working as a model, traveling around the world for 8 years before joining SheCodes! 💅 She worked in marketing for a while, but she realized that she wanted to do something that she considered more fulfilling and a long-term career move.

She was looking to try something new that would be mentally stimulating. After a recommendation from a friend, Natasha decided to give SheCodes a go. As she puts it - it was love at first sight! 😍

"I love that coding incorporates design. I also enjoy the instant gratification - if something has worked or not worked. I love the process of correcting my mistakes and googling solutions!"

Natasha studied four workshops with SheCodes, taking her from Basics and Plus to advanced coding in Responsive and React. 🚀

"I think the course was really inspiring, Matt is a great teacher so I think that was a massive reason why I decided to pursue a career in code."

The SheCodes React workshop was the most enjoyable part of Natasha's SheCodes experience. ⚛️ The React framework is very popular - an open-source framework that is used by a huge variety of companies like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, PayPal, Dropbox, Netflix (and SheCodes!). It's a challenge to learn but a huge benefit to any professional developer!

"I enjoyed React the most as it was by far the biggest challenge. I’m still learning every day, it's an endless world of possibilities. Bootstrap React is my favorite tool to design websites."

The knowledge that Natasha developed in SheCodes helped to refine her code and gave her confidence in growing her career.

"I now feel I have a purpose and a career ahead of me. I know I'll continue coding, learning, and improving."

Natasha now works as a freelance front-end web developer! Congratulations Natasha! 🥳 She has coded six websites so far - some based on existing designs - and built working relationships with a number of clients.

"As I have always been freelance in whatever I have done, I do enjoy working for myself and having the freedom and flexibility that comes with it...I really do enjoy being my own boss."

Natasha's advice is a very practical timesaver: ⏰

"Make notes!! Write everything down! I have a big, completely full notebook and I refer back to it often which has been really useful as Matt explains everything thoroughly. Some of my notes are better than solutions I find online which saves me a lot of time!"
