Teresa

Teresa is originally from Porto, Portugal, and is still living there to this day. She got a Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering and then a Post-graduate degree in Product and Service Innovation. In her Bioengineering studies, she learned a bit about coding in MATLAB. After her studies, she had a yearning to learn about front-end development and UX/UI design. 

She currently works for a company called Multiverso, a tech company that develops innovative web and mobile solutions for its clients. She wouldn’t have been able to get to this position without her coding knowledge gained in SheCodes.

Teresa’s motivation for joining SheCodes was that she had always liked coding and wanted to learn more about front-end development, specifically web development and UX/UI design. She came across SheCodes and decided to dive right in. 

She enjoyed the lessons and the simplified teaching of complex subjects, the student spirit and teamwork, and the affordability. 

Thanks to her SheCodes experience, Teresa was able to alter her career trajectory and goals. She gained experience with web development and was able to land her first position in Multiverso right after her studies in university. 

“The knowledge I gained in SheCodes introduced me to Web Development, which I didn’t have any experience in before. SheCodes was a big factor in landing my first job at a tech company after college. I initially joined sales, moved on to web development and am now leading the implementation of service design and UX/UI design projects.”

She is currently a Web Developer and Service Designer at Multiverso. On the web development side of things, she does both front and back-end development. On the service design side, she implements Service and UX/UI design in the company and leads all design projects. Her role combines both design and programming in order to implement user interfaces for web and mobile applications. She helps ensure that her company’s users are having a good user experience across all platforms. She really enjoys her job and is happy that SheCodes helped her get to the point she is at today.

Teresa also enjoys working on her own coding projects outside of work. Thanks to working in a small tech company, she has the flexibility to do so.
