Meet Mariya 🇧🇬! Originally from Bulgaria and now living in Georgia, USA, Mariya loves to combine creativity with curiosity. Fun fact, her very first landing page project was all about yoga — “balancing pixels before poses,” as she likes to say! 🧘♀️
Before discovering SheCodes, Mariya worked full-time in customer service within the beauty industry. Her job focused on making sure clients had a great experience — from booking appointments to handling questions and helping people leave with a smile, whether they came in for a manicure or a makeover.
Over time, Mariya started feeling like she needed a new challenge — something that could push her to grow and reach her full potential. She tried the SheCodes Free Coding Class and quickly realized how powerful it felt to create something meaningful through code. That first moment sparked her passion for tech and made her want to explore it further. ✨

With SheCodes, Mariya gained the skills and confidence she needed to change her life. She is now working as a Front-end Developer, where she builds and improves web applications that are both functional and beautifully designed. 👩💻 On top of that, she co-founded Frontend Queens, an organization that supports women in tech through free events and community initiatives. As part of the team, she helps organize events, manage the group’s online presence, and create new opportunities to empower women in the tech world.
SheCodes also gave Mariya practical tools that she uses every day in her job. Learning how to collaborate on Slack taught her the value of teamwork and communication.
