How Karol went from a complete coding beginner to working as a Frontend Developer Trainee in less than a year.

Karol is a recent SheCodes grad from Brazil and currently living in Barcelona, Spain. She likes to spend her free time going to the beach, visiting the park, reading, cooking, and watching Netflix, along with learning new skills like coding. She started her coding journey with us as a complete beginner and is now working as a Frontend Developer Trainee. ๐คฉ Weโre so proud of how far Karol has come!
Karol got a bachelorโs degree in business administration from the University of Sul de Santa Catarina in Brazil. She then went on to get a Postgraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Lisbon.ย
After her studies, she worked as an assistant manager, a salesperson, a finance administrative assistant, and a web marketing manager. After working in web marketing with website management, she was motivated to gain more technical skills and decided to learn how to code. Her motivation increased after she realized there were so many job opportunities in this area. ๐ช ๐ป

After coming across SheCodes online, Karol was very intrigued. She says that SheCodes caught her attention because it demonstrated that coding was a lot more approachable than she once thought. She also thoroughly enjoyed the female-only community to supplement her learning experience. ๐ฉโ๐ป

Karol has started work as a Frontend Developer Trainee at NDD, a computer software company based in Brazil. Her current role involves following some projects with her team, along with dedicating some time to familiarizing herself with necessary coding tools and practices.ย
Unlike her previous job in marketing, she now has the ability to work remotely and grow a lot more professionally. ๐ She has big plans for her coding future which we are confident sheโll accomplish!ย
