How Kinga decided to pursue front-end development and started working as a web developer thanks to SheCodes Plus.

We’re so proud of SheCoder Kinga! She is a very dedicated student from Romania who has put her SheCodes knowledge to good use and is now working as a Junior Web Developer!! 🤩
She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography of Tourism from the University of Babes-Bolyai in Romania. After university, she had many jobs over the years. She most recently worked in Content Analysis, Video Content Creation, and Video Editing.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, blogging, and crafting. Kinga’s interest in coding stemmed from her hobby of blogging. During her time blogging, she became passionate about web design and wanted to dive deeper into it and strengthen her abilities as a web designer. Hence, she decided to learn how to code.
“I started blogging in 2016 and over time I got passionate about web design and how the web works. A few years back I started offering my services by creating websites for my clients in Wordpress. After a while I wanted to dive deeper into web design so I started researching what paths there are to become a web designer. That’s what I wanted in the beginning. Once I knew what career path I wanted to pursue, I started researching again on courses and trainings.”
👩💻 Her SheCodes Experience
Kinga began searching for coding courses to enhance her skill set as a web designer, but she discovered that many of these courses were outside of her budget. She wanted to find something affordable and then stumbled upon SheCodes. 🙌 And we’re so glad that she did!!
“My budget was really tight so I was looking for cheaper alternatives. I’ve seen lots of coding bootcamps that cost a lot of money. But I was determined to find alternatives within my budget. That’s how I found SheCodes.”
She tried some free options like YouTube and Udemy beforehand but found that these platforms were not exactly what she was looking for. She joined SheCodes free intro class and was drawn by the fact that it was only for women. She then joined a SheCodes advanced workshop. With SheCodes, she really enjoyed the teaching style and community of coders.
“SheCodes is different from other options I’ve tried because of the community behind it, plus Matt is a great teacher.”

🙋 How SheCodes has Helped to Change Her Life
Thanks to her new coding knowledge, hard work, and dedication, Kinga is now working as a Junior Web Developer! She says that SheCodes is responsible for her new career in that it introduced her to the world of coding and helped her see that this is something that she wanted to pursue! 🤩

Amidst her SheCodes journey, she started applying for jobs and internships. After many interviews, she got an internship! She started as a React Intern at NoMoreCoffeePlease and then worked her way up to a Junior Web Developer after just 5 months! 😍
“After I finished SheCodes Plus, I moved onto React. I started applying for jobs and internships. I had many technical assessments and a few interviews. In the end I got accepted for an internship in a startup company. Now I work for them as a junior web developer. I am so happy that I found SheCodes…I am beyond grateful.”
Her daily tasks include meetings with the team and the stakeholders, training sessions with her team, assisting in project management using tools like Jira, and spending a lot of time coding of course! She spends time coding both on her own and in conjunction with other team members to help them solve their coding issues. 💪 💻
Kinga says that her job now is totally different from her previous non-technical positions in that she can work remotely, works with like-minded people, has a great impact on company decisions, and receives a better salary. She also feels that she is contributing more to local communities with the projects that she completes. 💜
“It’s a huge change from my previous jobs in non-tech roles. I have remote work, I am surrounded with people who share the same values as me, my opinions matter, I have better pay, I feel like I am contributing to the local communities.”
She would like to continue to refine and improve her coding skills in the future! We can’t wait to see Kinga’s coding journey progress! 🙌

👩💼 Advice to Future SheCodes Student
Kinga’s advice is to invest in yourself with some coding knowledge! Because with a few lines of code, you can do a lot. We’d have to agree! 😉
“Just go for it! If you stumbled upon SheCodes it’s definitely a sign! You’re meant to be here! It’s the best investment in yourself, and you must do something about it. Coding is not easy, and there’s a lot to learn, but it’s amazing! I am still amazed of what I am able to do with a few lines of code. If you’re still thinking about it, just join the free workshop, you’ll see exactly what to expect from these courses. Good luck! You can do it.”
