How Taisiya has improved her work with developers thanks to her new coding knowledge

Taisiya is originally from Russia, but has been living in Berlin for the past few years. She comes from a humanities background - in university, she studied linguistics and British studies. After university, she worked as a Gallery Assistant, as an Exams Assistant for the British Council, and as a Recruiting Coordinator for Wayfair. For the past couple of years, sheβs worked as a Recruiter for Freshworks, one of the fastest growing SaaS providers of CX and ITSM software worldwide. She is in charge of hiring exceptional talents to join their team. She wanted to work for a tech company to improve her understanding of the industry overall and possibly move up to more technical roles eventually.Β
She began working for Freshworks because she has a passion for technology. After working there for a bit, she began to develop an interest in coding due to the technical nature of the company and the fact that coding is extremely relevant within the company.Β
βI wanted to learn more about programming. I am very passionate about technology. That is why I applied and got a job as a Recruiter in a tech company to understand the industry better. After over 1 year in this role I realized that in the next step in my professional life I may want to try out other roles such as Solution Architect. However, I did not have the skills and qualifications to pursue this opportunity.β
After this interest in coding grew, she found SheCodes on Instagram and decided to dive in.

Once Taisiyaβs interest in coding formed, she knew she had to develop some coding skills in order to help her work towards her professional goals.

βMy educational background is in Literature and Cultural Studies. In spite of my keen interest in tech, I had not gotten a chance to study any related subjects. I had gathered my first insights into the programming researching on-line, but I understand that I need a structured course and to ask questions to be able to progress. I had hoped that SheCodes would give me the knowledge to pursue the career I am looking for.β

Before SheCodes, Taisiya had dabbled with other online courses but didnβt find anything that really worked for her.Β
βI did a Coursera course before. I liked the SheCodes course more because it was very interactive and it was conducted in a smaller group and everyone received sufficient attention. I also think that communication on Slack channel was very convenient.β
When asked what her favorite parts of the workshop were, she said that she really enjoyed the lessons, informal atmosphere, and friendly environment.Β
βI liked watching the course trainer code live in the lessons. I also enjoyed the informal atmosphere of the course. Furthermore, everyone in the course was very humble, supportive of each other and friendly.β
Overall, Taisiya thinks that SheCodes was a wonderful investment for her and she also supports the mission of the company.Β
βIt is a wonderful organization. It supports a great cause and encourages women to go into the male-dominated professional realm and thus helps to spread diversity and ultimately make our world a better place! I think the course is a fair offer. The content, the level of support, and the communication exceeded my expectations.βΒ
π How SheCodes has Helped to Change Her Life
As mentioned before, Taisiya currently works for a technology company called Freshworks. She enjoys working in tech and plans to stay in the industry for the foreseeable future.Β
The knowledge gained in SheCodes not only has helped her improve her professional skill set, it has also helped improve her overall work. She often faces interdepartmental work with development teams at her work and she says that SheCodes has helped facilitate conversations with the developers.Β
βI understand a Developer's job better now that Iβve tried coding myself. I enjoy that I can speak with developer colleagues at a higher level of understanding.β
In the future, Taisiya would like to expand her coding knowledge and possibly move up to a more technical role.Β

According to Taisiya, coding knowledge can create new opportunities and chapters in your life! She thinks that SheCodes was a wonderful experience and would recommend it. She began as a complete beginner and can now successfully communicate with the developers in her company.Β
βI completed the SheCodes workshop. It was a great experience! I would recommend to try it out! It can be the first page of a new chapter in your life!β
βI had zero experience in programming before starting the SheCodes workshop. I wanted to challenge myself and learn a new skill. I also thought it would be beneficial for my job, as I work in a software vendor company in a non-product related role, but wanted to gather more knowledge about the job of a Developer. I enjoyed the course immensely! The structure and the provided guidance made it a fun experience to get the first insights into programming. I now have much better understanding of many concepts in programming and can do some basic operations in CSS, HTML and JS.β
