Meet Clara 🇵🇹! Clara is a passionate and determined learner who has always been curious about different career paths. She first studied Management and Economics in Business School before switching to Biomedical Engineering, but she still felt unsure about her future. One of the courses that truly caught her interest was Programming in C, which introduced her to the world of coding. That experience sparked something in her and made her want to explore tech further.
Her motivation for learning to code was to find her passion and a career path she truly loved. SheCodes gave her the chance to experience coding in an accessible and structured way without a big financial commitment.
"Academically and professionally speaking, I was looking for my real passion in life. Since I had already coded in C, even if just a bit, I took SheCodes to see if Web Development could be the right path for me."
This decision changed everything! Clara soon realized that programming wasn’t just something she liked — it was something she could build a career around. She made a bold move and switched her major to Computer Science, eventually graduating in February 2023! 🎓
👩💻 Her SheCodes Experience
Besides her university course, Clara took another online coding course before SheCodes, but she found that SheCodes stood out in every way.
"SheCodes is, in my opinion, way better than the other online course I took. The instructor made learning fun, and the supportive classmates made a huge difference! Whenever I had a question, I could ask and receive help. There was a really positive, although demanding, atmosphere from start to finish."
The structured approach, hands-on projects, and community-driven learning style made all the difference. She especially enjoyed the homework and feedback, which helped her truly understand coding concepts.
"I really liked that we had homework and could get feedback on it—it was a great way to learn. The lessons were also well-structured: each topic was explained, followed by an example, and then we had an exercise to apply what we learned. I also loved when we were challenged with new topics!"
