How Natasha is using her coding knowledge to help her in launching her own brand.
πββοΈ Before SheCodes
Natasha is from Houston, Texas. She spends half of her year in Houston and half of the year in Lisbon, Portugal. She studied Business and Sociology in university and has had a plethora of jobs across many different fields, including Project Control, Marketing, Management, Business Development, and Business Analysis. Over the years, sheβs worked with many developers, but has struggled with how to best work with them and has faced gaps in understanding.
βI've worked around and with a lot of coders over the years. I tend to be in charge of communications and business development in a lot of the organizations I've worked for - from corporate, to social enterprises, to family business. With that, I am usually responsible for updating company websites. I would always find it aggravating that I didn't know how to fix the sites myself and would have to rely on others. I would often play with the code to try to adjust different aspects but was always super worried about messing it up - I never felt fully equipped. I always felt like I was one button away from messing everything up and I didnβt like feeling like I needed to rely on someone else to fix these problems. Coding was something that was in the back of my mind for 6/7 years but I never pursued it.β
But then Natasha found SheCodes and her coding excitement was ignited! It was just what she needed to fill her coding curiosity.Β
βI had time to fill and was just working on my own consulting work. I was craving a different kind of mental stimulation and I knew coding could create that for me.β

Natasha joined SheCodes to bulk up her coding knowledge, familiarize herself with the constantly-changing technological realm, re-ignite her interest in technology, and gain skills in a different field. She was looking to make her skill set more digital in order to give herself the possibility to work remotely and improve her work with developers. SheCodes has made these goals become a reality, and allowed her to have fun along the way.
Natashaβs favorite parts of the SheCodes workshop were the lesson format, the pace of the workshop, and the final project.Β
βI liked that I could go at my own pace when I had time. I felt like I digested the lessons a lot better.Β I also loved feeling accomplished each week with the lovely check marks on your course dashboard that show you've completed a section. I REALLY enjoyed the final project, as well. It was so exciting to put all of my new coding skills to work. I had a blast doing it.β
Natasha also enjoyed the atmosphere of the workshop, learning with other women, and the affordable price.Β

π How SheCodes has Helped to Change Her Life
Natasha currently works as a consultant of Rising Women Sisterhood, of which she is also a co-founder. Her business aims to empower women to reclaim their inner healer through immersive experiences (retreats, workshops, etc.). She also works as a real estate consultant for her family business and has recently launched her own brand, Wild Wisdom. Her coding knowledge gained in SheCodes has helped her decrease her fear of technology, expand her career goals and scope, and improve her current work.Β
βI'm currently managing a project for my family business in real estate development supporting new modern operations software and marketing upgrades including a new website. I'm much more confident in developing the site and knowing how/when to ask for help from seasoned developers. I have also just launched my own brand guiding spiritually curious boss babes to unleash their inner healer with a holistic approach to all things health, sensuality and leadership. Thanks to SheCodes, I feel less scared of technology which is helpful as I launch my brand.β

If youβre interested in coding, you should jump right in to a SheCodes workshop, according to Natasha. She believes SheCodes' learning methods are approachable, staff is accessible, and assignments are fun!Β
βIf you are at all curious about coding, just do it! I loved the SheCodes online Workshop! It was easy to learn from the short videos, the staff was accessible and the assignments were fun and challenging. I especially loved the creative process during the final project and showcasing our new skills. I would highly recommend this course!β
