I decided that is time to change my career path and open the door to the tech world. While searching on how to begin this journey, I bumped into the She Codes workshop and was an incredible surprise: how much you learn and the amount of information that you absorve in just 2 days with an amazing team of teachers. I really liked the fact that is not just a theoric workshop, you really practice coding and for me is the best way to consolidate knowledge. ⚠️Girls if you want to start coding this is a good way 😎
As a digital marketer I am convinced that (at least basic) coding skills are required to grow in your job. And in the future they will become even more relevant! I was personally always curious about coding, however it being still such a men domain (even in 2018!) might hinder many women from learning it. After this fun two days I can only recommend it to other interested girls: I love the creativity in it and the feeling you created something from scratch! Since I also love challenges, I am thinking of enrolling for the upcoming Shecodes Week!

This workshop is a great way to try your hand at the basics of html, css and JavaScript. Besides teaching us the technical side, there is the plus of knowing more about the developers' roles within an organization, and about the process of developing a product! Overall I had a great experience and highly recommend it :)

I couldn't have had a better first experience with coding. It was fun, simple and impactful. I learned the basics of coding in a cool environment surrounded by inspiring women. Matt challenged us to do more and better, always making it seems easy and fun. And the impact was not just on the skills acquired but on my driven to now wanting to learn more.

She Codes gave me a wonderful introduction to the world of coding. It made me realize that it's nothing that I had expected but it also made me see that, if I worked hard, I could do it. The workshop itself is fast paced but it couldn't be any other way in order to do give the basics in such a small amount of time. Matt was an excellent teacher that really transcended what coding means to him. An excellent opportunity!
Code controls 90% of what we do in our day-to-day lives and I was clueless as to what all this was, therefore my main goal when I applied for She Codes was to be able to understand the gibberish of coding. Goal accomplished with a lot of extra bonuses on the way! I feel like I have started to crack the surface of the coding potential, and hope to continue doing so.
I think anyone with interest in web development should attend She Codes. It is a great way to learn the basics and we get to know more about how the industry works. For me it also gave me the necessary push to try to learn more afterwards even if it by myself.

After several attempts I came to the right place where I took the basic ideas to develop a more linear path. I tried to learn to code on my own but always felt demotivated quickly and failed miserably. With SheCodes I got the support I needed, the essential questions about front-end and back-end development clarified and a lot of exercises that were greatly beneficial because I could actually understand what I was doing. When I entered She Codes I already knew a little bit about coding, however I never step out of my comfort zone and would just do the small exercises that were given to me (which wouldn't really help me learn anything new, or remember what I knew). She Codes takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you remember and understand what you learn -- which is what it's really important when coding! It gave me the motivation to continue studying coding on my own 😊
I actually heard about SheCodes before its first ever session one year ago. I am always keen on learning something new and after I found it online, I subscribed to the newsletter and kept receiving information about it for each session. I decided to apply for the first time to SheCodes 7.0 because it was finally the right time and I got in! I was so excited to start it as I have been wanting for many years to know a bit more about the World of Coding. Meeting great people, both passionate teachers and fellow coders was just the right format to deep dive into it! The different aspects (Coding, Design and Product Management) makes it a great first introduction as it gives you a global picture on how those 3 aspects work in unison. I also like and respect the vision and reasons behind why Matt decided to launch SheCodes. It’s a really great opportunity and I never thought I would be able to design a landing page like mine for the final project. Learning in classrooms with actual people is also way more efficient that starting online courses by yourself, which I had tried before. Now I just want to learn more and develop my skills and intend on attending more courses like that. As a professional currently working in Digital Marketing and managing a blog, SheCodes has already been beneficial and I strongly believe it will also benefit me for my freelance and other projects in the near future.

I work in digital marketing and a big part of my job is website management, as well form and landing page creation. Most of the things I had been learning on my own on the fly, but I was missing some framework for all the knowledge. SheCodes was perfect for that. I learned more in 3 days of She Codes than in 2 months of online self-study. After a couple of (failed) attempts at trying to learn coding from scratch by following online tutorials, I realised I needed to try a different approach. I was excited to hear about She Codes and now I'm so grateful to be part of it: you're not only learning a new skill, but also joining a great community that keeps you engaged throughout the course.

After these 3 sessions, all I have learnt feels like a long journey but truth is, it is because of all the useful insight and the content I was exposed to. It has been an important experience of integration and I can already feel that this is only the start of a new path.
I have never imagine I could be able to code and understand the web in 3 weeks. Homework were so fun to do and it was definitely worth it to come every Saturday from Porto to learn and to have this unique experience of learning from the Matt and his team. What an energy!

I signed up for SHE CODES hoping to understand the basics of coding and maybe start my one website from scratch … but I left with much more. I learned how the internet works, some of the tools to do my own website, the 'where' to go to continue learning and improving my newest skills. Learned the basics of product management and to understand based on retrieved data what my clients want and what I can change. Not only was the workshop both inspiring and challenging but during the 3 days, I had the opportunity to network with 27 amazing women full of entrepreneurship ideas and dreams to make the difference. Matt and the rest of the team were great professors even talking about such complex themes. I would recommend this course to every woman I know that wants to understand more about coding.
