I took the Xmas break to invest in myself by taking a three-week SheCodes workshop. It took me a few days to get into the programming mood, but once I started working on the first chapters, time just flew by. And within a blink, the three weeks were over and I had finished my first own real live project, and I am so proud to have exposed myself to unknown territory and been able to come up with something I feel happy about. So thank you, Matt, and your excellent team for this exciting experience!

It was a great experience especially for a person like me who is a Biologist and does not have any previous software programming/web development experience. It is super fun and I am curious to move ahead.
SheCodes is AMAZING! I've been majoring in Computer Science for over a year now, and I've been recently interested in front-end development and learning a few new languages. The workshops were the perfect place for me to get started over winter break! Matt takes things step-by-step and zooms in to explain the nitty gritty of the code. He neither makes it too long and superfluous nor too vague; it is just the right amount of explanation! In addition, you have this whole team of women around the world standing with you as a united force learning these new coding languages -- all of which are there at your disposal to help guide you and learn with you through Slack chat. Professional help is also available-- and they truly do help with whatever question or trouble you may have! (This is a unique twist from undergraduate help in college... ahaha.) Videos can be fast-forwarded 30 seconds or rewound for 30 seconds. You can always go back to previous lessons. The best part? A review of the video and significant concepts are left underneath each video. I have never encountered such a helpful platform to help me get started. Matt flawlessly lets us grow wings throughout the lessons as well so that we can find outside coding help and experiment for when we won't have a helpful guide in our future coding adventures. I recommend SheCodes to any woman interested in learning front-end development (website-building) or coding in general. What are you waiting for?

I'm really pleased I decided to take the Plus course. I feel more confident using HTML, CSS and JavaScript and am really happy that I can now work professionally with Git and GitHub. Even if concepts seemed challenging at first, there was always someone on Slack to talk to if I got stuck. Can't wait to continue with the React course!

I really like Shecodes workshop and its structure, in particular the challenges after each lesson, the homework each week and the big final project. The course is very interesting and fun. The support team is the added value, it is very fast and instructions insightful and easy to follow, plus Slack is a good tool to communicate and create a community. This is my first Coding Course and I would highly recommend this course!

SheCodes has been first proper introduction to coding, I can't believe I've already come to the end of SheCodes Plus! This workshop has been so insightful, although it is challenging, part of the fun of coding is to play around and figure out how to improve. Using JS to create interactive elements is a skill I've always wanted to learn and this workshop has really opened my eyes to what I can create and how to code it!
SheCodes is fantastic! I've learned so much and I truly feel like the class prepares you to work in the real world!
I really like the structure of Shecodes: bite-sized, digestible lessons; challenges after each lesson; homework each week and a big project in the end. The course is demanding, yet not less interesting and fun. Matt's instructions are really insightful and easy to understand. In only a few minutes, each lesson manages to tap into a new useful area. I really like the networking opportunities with SheCodes as well. The student support team here is also super fast, friendly and helpful. This is my first Coding Course and I highly recommend SheCodes to any rookies out there!!

I appreciated the structure and break down of each concept in this workshop. I struggled at times, but through a LOT of persistence, I was able to make it through. I recommend this workshop to those looking to potentially switch careers and/or looking for some more technical know-how.
Brilliant start to coding. The videos are so easy to follow along and I think Matt describes the content and instructions really well. You learn a lot over 3 weeks and the frequent challenges really help to cement that knowledge.
Very clear and objective video lessons and learning format/tool. And well explained content. Of course, at the end of the course, some topics (which are more complex) still need to be deepened and the review and continued practice is necessary, after all, a different and new content for me. But it provided a very good level to start creating independent projects!
I went from total zero to total hero in my first three weeks! I am floored at what I have learned and couldn’t be happier to have landed my two feet in this program! I am excited to continue with SheCodes-working at my own pace, stellar support from the staff, and easy to follow challenges that make me feel like a boss babe when I accomplish them! I loved SheCodes! I had a previous basic experience with HTML, but I've never done anything with JavaScript before and nonetheless I found the course very clear and easy to follow. I also really liked that Matt was explaining enough to let me learn new stuff and complete the assignments, but still giving inputs about other options and possibilities that triggered my curiosity and made me explore and try on my own. I`m happy I joined SheCodes. SheCodes taught me a lot about CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. The videos are easy to follow and it is a lot of fun and enjoyable to code based on those instructions and inspirations. Fantastic course. Matt has broken down concepts into bite-sized chunks and demonstrates while he explains concepts, which is great if you are a visual learner. The practical challenges help to quickly solidify each topic and are fun and interesting. I found it was just the right balance of simplicity and complexity in this approach to learning to code. Great experience.

The SheCodes Plus Workshop series was a challenging but uniquely rewarding experience. As a beginner to coding, the idea of building my own website from scratch extremely extremely daunting at first. However, with the current state of uncertainty that seems to loom across the world, the weekly projects gave me something tangible to look forward to each week. I also have a new appreciation for every website I go on, now that I understand the time and effort that goes into building one. If you are considering these workshops even a little, DO IT! And you'll be happy that you did.
SheCodes taught me a lot about the fundamental pillars of code such as CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. I have been struggling to learn code on my own, but with this workshop it made complete sense! The videos were easy to follow, homework assignments were challenging, and the final project gave us creative freedom. I'll definitely be registering for SheCodes React later this year. 👾 If you're hesitant or debating between SheCodes and another workshop, I highly recommend SheCodes! It was more like a game where you had to "beat each level" before advancing. I'm a visual learner and the way Matt explained everything was perfect. I always thought coding was for guys and nerds, with this course, I found is not that hard or for special people to learn. I prove myself I can do it, I feel empowered, most of all, I'm very proud of myself to understand what is the meaning of product development; and as a project manager, I'm planning to start using this knowledge more. I believe that if we do not know how to speak digital, we'll be very behind. If you want to level up your coding skills, this will be the course to start! 😎

SheCodes was a great way to learn an introductory to coding. The 3-week college-class style format helped keep me on track and on-schedule with each lesson and the videos and projects made me practice each skill at a time and in easily digestible chunks. Overall, it was a fun and easy way to learn coding for the first time.
I absolutely loved SheCodes! Matt walked us through the basics in each video, and we had resources available via Slack 24/7 if we needed help or had questions. The challenges were engaging, fun, and filled with easy to understand information. As each week passed, the elements we learned were tied together and the framework began to make more sense. I am so glad I took the plunge and signed up! Looking forward to continuing my SheCodes journey!
I've always viewed coding as boring or too difficult to wrap my head around it. After taking this workshop I realize how creative and fun coding is! I wasn't expecting much but I found myself really enjoying the short lectures and the challenges. The help from the Slack channel was also super nice because we're a whole community sharing resources and common issues. I found myself really going out in the final project and researching different components I wanted to add. You can say I suprised myself. I'm excited to continue on to the next workshop and learning better ways to code.
This workshop definitely was a challenging yet a fun experience. I was able to test my ability to be patient with the trial and errors of my codes. This was the most rewarding experience, to have completed the workshop. I will be continuing to the Plus React workshop as I would like to advance my coding experiences with SheCodes.

Being a medical student, juggling three jobs, course work and medical placement; I didn't think it was even remotely possible to pick up a new skill like coding! I always thought it would be wayy too difficult and I wouldn't find the time but this course made it so straight forward to build a foundation. I am so happy now as I will be able to explore a whole new world of ideas and innovations and be able to know the basic working of them. Can't wait to see what the future holds, maybe build a website or even an app?! Who knows😁

The basic SheCodes workshop was a great way to learn fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and a little Javascript! It's a great foundation to discover if a longer workshop is something right for you! Easy to understand and follow.
It's a great way to start coding. The exercises are correctly created to promote a challenge and let you apply all the knowledge gathered during the lessons. You have here enough knowledge to start to use code in your daily life, more focused on web design.
I`ve had lots of fun with the basic workshop and I am very very happy that I`ve made the decision to start learning from SheCodes. In school I`ve already learned some coding but it was a MESS. I could barely follow up and now realised that a lot was already outdated at that time. Matt explains everything very well and the little challenges have helped me to repeat and practise what I`ve learned. Am very excited and thankful for the ongoing journey with the next workshops.
This was a great learning experience. I have watched many YouTube tutorials but this hands on workshop taught me more in just 2 weeks than any video could have taught me. I only signed up for the 3 week course because I had free time over Christmas break but I will definitely be signing up for the full 4 month course soon!!

I've had a great journey of 3 weeks intro into coding, now looking forward to beginning of more advanced courses. I work in IT as a Scrum Master, fascinated by product development, and have always wanted to jump into a Developer's shoes to better understand their work, challenges and struggles. The entry threshold to the business is incredibly high though -- still, with Matt's excellent ability to explain tech world, I caught the programming bug 😉, and will happily continue all the efforts at the frontend side. This workshop was great to start learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript! The tutorials were short and sweet and the exercises helped to apply the learnings. In addition, you get live support through the Slack Community so you are definitely not alone - I would encourage all women that have an interest in coding to give it a try, it's definitely worth it and makes a ton of fun! 🙌🏽
I really enjoyed the coding workshop. I was very excited about the weekly homework challenges where I was coding on my own and creating from scratch. I’m happy I took this course because now I can use this knowledge at my UX Design job.
A great intro for complete beginners on how to start learning on your own later. I had some background in css and html from teen years, but it was first time learning JavaScript. Enjoyed the course, definitely need to make some more projects to make sure to not forget the basics learnt in this course.
SheCodes Plus has been a great and challenging experience. I have developed my skills from the workshop and understand front-end web development, to the point where I can confidently recreate what I see on a web page. The team at SheCodes have been so helpful on Slack, and it is great to see other students work showcased online. I always felt curious about coding world. Nowadays I work full time (in a completely different field) and I don't have much time for myself. This coding bootcamp it's been an amazing introduction to coding. If you are not sure (like me) if coding world is for you, this bootcamps is really helpful. Easy explanations and challenging exercises that will lead you to know more about coding. Thanks to shecodes I feel I've discovered a totally new hidden skill. I'm eager to beggin the next workshop!
