Was a good class
If you have an interest in learning how to code, the SheCodes Basics workshop is a great way to figure out if coding really is for you. Each video and challenge is well explained, and the SheCodes community on Slacks is a good backup for when you're stuck. Matt challenges you by giving you factors on a web page where you need to figure out the code yourself, while teaching you how to google your issues and communicating them through Slacks. All in all, the work shop is the perfect course where you won't commit to a big and more expensive package, but still getting to know the basics and explore your interest more.

Very understandable explanations and a lot of practice, step-by-step integration of real time and weather data. Being not bound by time that much is also useful for busy people! I really enjoyed these weeks and look forward to continue my way in programming!

It's easy to follow and Matt provides challenging exercises every week. You learn the very basics with this course in an easy and intuitive way. You also have the chat in Slack which I found very helpful when I'm unsure about something in my code.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to gain knowledge and get acquainted with a new specialty. At first it was very scary that I could not cope. And then I got involved and the excitement appeared. Interesting and very accessible. For those who have never tried this area - a great opportunity to try yourself in it.

In general, the course is not bad, although it gives you the basics and then you need to move on to other courses. It explains quite well, but sometimes due to the fact that the task in the challenge changes from lesson to lesson, you have to sit over the code for a long time and think about where is my id or what to delete.
Signing up for SheCodes was hands-down the best decision I have ever made! I had wanted to attend a coding workshop for years but was worried I would be over my head. The one-hour free introduction course provided sold me on signing up, and I had an absolute blast completing all the challenges. I looked forward to learning, and look forward to attending another workshop in the near future. Thank you Matt and the SheCodes team!

SheCodes Responsive is a challenging workshop yet extremely rewarding in terms of learning how to built websites that will look great on various devices which is a crucial skill if looking for a junior front-end developer position. So, it's definitely a 10/10 workshop to advance your web development skills and build real-life projects!
100% recommend this course to anyone who is new to coding. Coding may seem intimidating but Matt breaks these classes down into short videos so it is easy to understand. Whenever I had any problems, Matt and his team answered my queries within 2 hours. I love the fact that after each tutorial video, there is a challenge to work on to ensure that we've understood the lesson. The project was pretty tedious for me but was definitely a fun experience!

I have worked in digital marketing for 6+ years and wanted to explore the world of tech. For many years I thought there was no place for me because I do not have an affinity for math and science, but I was wrong. I'm excited to become a front-end developer, and to specialize in an area of tech.
I was very nervous to start this course, to my surprise I learned a lot from SheCodes. I did not have a lot of background knowledge of how to code and I feel like I learned a lot based on the program.
This was very interesting and good course for me. I know many new information.
SheCodes is a great platform. You're motivated to step out of your comfort zone from the very beginning. It's an environment where you are encouraged to try different solutions and "break things" because they can always be fixed. I didn't imagine that coding is something that I could ever learn; I have always thought that it is a very complicated subject and only those good in math or "engineers" can understand it. But as I started the lessons I began to see that it can be an interesting and fun experience. SheCodes lessons were divided into a few minutes per topic so the student wouldn’t be overwhelmed. There were challenges at the end of each lesson so it served as a review and to practice what I understood about the topic. Matt is also a great instructor; he was able to explain things very well, in a simple and clear manner. I found myself looking forward to watching each lesson! And to the amazing support of the SheCodes team, where you can readily ask for help in case you get stuck on the assignments that you are working on. I enjoyed the course a lot. The course doesn't require any previous programming experience and is suitable for absolute beginners who would like to try programming but don't know where to start. In the beginning, I just wanted to support the team for giving Ukrainian women an opportunity to learn web development during these harsh times. And in the end, I actually had a lot of fun doing all the homework, watching the videos, and learning. I have already recommended this course to a friend of mine.
I was quite hesitant before signing up because I didn't think I would be able to learn how to code. But the lessons are very well designed: the videos are short which makes it accessible, the exercises are fun but difficult enough to make it challenging and there is constant interaction with the SheCodes team 👩💻 in case you have questions. Also, since English is not my native language, I was afraid that learning to code would be a double challenge for me. But Matt speaks slowly and is super clear, plus there are tools like Close Caption to help those who have English as their second or third language. I highly recommend it; this course proves that we can all code 💪🏽💪🏽.
