It took me a while to understand how React components work, but then it was a lot of fun. I'm sad that this course has come to an end now, but I plan to continue on my coding journey. As I am currently in between jobs and trying to figure out what my next steps will be, I started this workshop to learn a new skill set. Honestly, I am surprised how easy this was. I have always wanted to learn to code; at least basics. Before applying to SheCodes, I have tried couple other platforms but I used to get boring and gave up right after the first lesson.I was thinking that I will never be able to learn it. However, SheCodes workshops changed my whole perception. I loved it. Mat is a great teacher and he explains everything so clearly. The lessons are not overwhelming like others. The tasks are interesting and fun. The team is very supportive. I have enjoyed every single minute of passed three weeks. When I look at my codes, I feel so proud of how much I managed to learn. The free workshop was EXACTLY what I needed to finally make the jump into coding that I had been thinking about for so long, and the Basic workshop solidified my hunger for more. I never would have thought I'd learn so much in such a small space of time! The projects are really fun and interesting, and key processes are repeated, so you find yourself becoming familiar with writing React code and debugging quickly. I'll really miss this journey! Thank you SheCodes team! :)
React is not an easy technology and in the beggining I was having a hard time getting used to it, but when you get the hang of it, it's great! I did this course while working and still didn't feel very tired because the way it is structured allows you to go at your own pace but to still have clear objectives. For people who want to learn how to code and have no experience, this is a great place to learn. Matt and the team are great, always ready to help.
I didn't have a concrete reason to start learning code, but when I saw the Instagram ad for the free seminar I was intrigued and had to try it out. Turns out - I love coding! The SheCodes team have put together a very well organized course in introductory coding that is easy to follow and has a great outcome. These weeks have been challenging, humbling too, intense, and super fun! SheCodes and Matt make this journey a very special experience, and I dare to say-life changing. The 'ecossystem' created-the team support, the community of coders, the radio to keep you motivated, and SheCodes Foundation are remarkable, they state an example for other companies. Highly recommend SheCodes Basics, it requires some time management if you're working too, but it is totally manageable, so take the risk, you definitely won't regret it.

I really enjoyed this program. The videos are well-detailed and helpful; during the difficult moments when my code breaks up/won't run, going back to calmly re-watch the videos, repeatedly if necessary, always helped me to identify my mistakes. I really enjoyed the SheCodes basics workshop and will continue with the SheCodes Plus course! I wanted to learn to code for the longest time but none of the courses online appealed to me. Then I found SheCodes! I would highly recommend everybody that has interest in learning how to code to join the free coding class. The way the course is structured and explained (Matt is a GREAT teacher!!) is what convinced me, during the week you have exercises to do and you end the week with homework you have to send in. You learn by doing it yourself but you have a wonderful team and community to help you if when you are stuck! I also think that SheCodes have a great mission as a company, inspiring more women to enter the Tech industry!

As an absolute coding beginner, and someone who normally gravitates towards live-taught courses, I was very impressed with how easy it was to follow along with the video lessons. I only had a couple of questions throughout the workshop, and I was able to find the answers on the very active Slack threads, where the support team are very responsive. Looking forward to the next workshop.

The SheCodes Basics workshop provides a great, well-paced introduction into coding. Matt is an engaging instructor, and the lessons are easy to understand and put into practice while remaining on track. There's a number of coding tools for self-service. The customer success team and teaching assistants provide support and encouragement when needed. There's also a global community of students available to help. If you're slightly curious about coding, I highly recommend it!
The SheCodes Basic Training Course provided a great foundation for studying HTML, CSS, and JavaScript- all while making it fun! I enjoyed the structure & flexibility of the courses. SheCodes basic is a great way to learn what coding is. Some tasks almost drove me crazy, but Matt's repetition that coding is fun kept me going. Some tasks include elements which were not talked about in the videos. This was a great way to use learned information. I am thankful to Matt and the Team for this course!

Jumping into the SheCodes Plus workshop after the SheCodes Basics was both challenging and a lot of fun. Coding the weather app bit by bit and seeing how it builds up to a fully functioning solution was a really satisfying experience. Before this course, I was looking to develop new hard skills for my career. I signed up for this course on a whim, never having had ANY prior experience nor exposure to coding. I truly had no idea what to expect. So I told myself "let me just try this and see where it goes". And it was one of the best decisions I've made for my self-development! Matt is an excellent teacher, and he balances just the right amount of teaching & challenging you to find your own answers. At times, I got very frustrated with learning Javascript in particular (it honestly looked like gibberish at first), but like learning any new language, it comes more naturally with time and repetition. This course was very empowering, and has opened up a whole new world for me. I had so much fun! I highly recommend to any women looking to develop new skills for their current career, or women even considering a career change. When I decided to transition into tech, I had no idea where to even begin. I didn't know how vast the field was. Im thankful for Matt and his team for creating this workshop. Very easy and fun to interact with, especially for those who didn't have any development experience (like myself). This workshop definitely gives you an idea of what to expect, the very basics of front/back end development. I love the message behind the workshop! This was a fun journey, even though I had to stop a couple of times. However, the explanation was so great, that once I picked up where I left off, it was like I never stopped. The workshop was great. I had a small amount of coding knowledge going into it, but definitely learned way more than I knew and have better clarity on what to focus on next! The videos had plenty of tips and tricks to help guide you along the way, and if I got stuck, a team member or fellow student was quick to answer and take a look at my code for where I was making a mistake! I was very appreciative of this feature as many websites do not have this! Overall, I would recommend! I now look at webpages in a completely new light!

This course was perfect that even a mom with a newborn could handle and an incredible introduction to JavaScript and API that I genuinely enjoyed! I'm currently on maternity leave and wanted to do something for myself during my time away from work while my son napped during the day. This course opened my eyes to the world of coding. As a Product Manager, I cannot recommend more than for all PMs to take SheCodes to better understand what our engineers do on a day-to-day basis for better collaboration and product development. Learning React was a journey, not always easy but very satisfying once things started working.
