SheCodes React was very challenging and rewarding! In this course I have learned important fundamentals of React.js, such as UseState, UseEffect, properties, conditional rendering, Api integration and so on. I'm very proud of how far I've come. When I decided to try the SheCodes free coding class for beginners, I didn't know this was the start of a complete coding journey. Within 60 minutes, I was hooked. I needed more. I wanted to understand, to be empowered, to take it to a whole new level. Now I have just finished SheCodes Plus, and I will go further. This is one of the best decision I made! I have included HTML, CSS, Javascript, Git, GitHub, API, Netifly, and much more new words in my vocabulary. It's like learning a whole new international language which opens so many doors. APIs have been a mystery to me for years, but things are finally starting to click. 🎉 I cannot believe how incredibly helpful and supportive the SheCodes team and my fellow learners are. When things get tough, the community is there to rebuild my confidence, offer support and/or helpful advice. A massive (continued) thanks to Matt for the easy-to-follow lessons. Excited to find out what the next course has in store for us!
These 8 weeks looked so daunting at first but with the help of the well explained videos and the team from slack, it was made easier to understand the work and learn along the way.
SheCodes Responsive taught me how to create responsive websites that could be accessed on a mobile and desktop device and respond to the size of the screen. This course allowed me to understand how developers can create amazing websites that can be used on various devices without any issues. I learned how to manipulate the placement of my images, text and other elements to design an efficient and beautiful website. I was taught to successfully use Bootstrap to create grids, CSS Utility Classes to design responsive websites for smaller screens, and practiced adding Bootstrap classes to my elements to easily and quickly add style without having to access the CSS file. The SheCodes Slack team was amazing throughout the learning process, because creating responsive websites can get confusing and frustrating. With their help, I was able to navigate through the lessons with little to no anxiety that I would be stuck and on my own.
Having completed SheCodes Basics, I felt I needed to continue with coding as I felt I was only getting started! In this week Add On, I learned how to create CSS grids which was something I was looking for in the Basics homework. Overall, I feel this short course has enabled me to keep my coding skills fresh in my mind whilst building more advanced HTML, CSS and Javascript. I really enjoyed making the Final Project and towards the end I ended up tinkering with the CSS code and understanding where to put certain classes or hovers - something I definitely wouldn't have been able to do 3 weeks ago. Thank you again to Matt and the SheCodes team, looking forward to continuing with SheCodes Plus!

I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the basic workshops. I believe that the team adeptly breaks down all the essential information and highlights key points for beginners in the course. Moreover, the self-paced nature of the workshop was a great advantage, allowing me to align it with my schedule, especially considering my responsibilities with my kids. Before completing SheCodes basics I struggled to grasp a good understanding for the foundation of coding I believe this was due to me biting off more than I could chew. Thanks to the SheCodes team I now have great knowledge of the basics of coding and coding has become very more enjoyable.
I think since joining SheCodes, this was definitely the most challenging for me. I had to remind myself that I am learning this for the first time therefore extending grace to myself was necessary. With re-watching the classes, constant practising and a present and supportive SheCodes team, I build an entire Weather-app using react!!

I've always been intimidated by the thought of coding. But, I had a great experience delving in this world of code with SheCodes. This experience was an definitely an eye opener and I had so much fun while learning. The SheCodes workshops are practical and self paced with support from the Slack Team if you are in need along the way. Also Matt has been a great teacher with his hands on learning tools. I would highly recommend to those looking to learn to code.
The SheCodes foundation has truly been a game changer for me. As someone who was completely new to html, css and java script, their workshops and online resources have provided me with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in tech. the team at SheCodes is incredibly supportive and dedicated to to helping women succeed in the male-dominated field of coding. i am so grateful for their guidance and expertise, and i highly recommend SheCodes to any women looking to break into the tech industry. thank you SheCodes for helping me kickstart my coding journey!
I learnt how to build html,css, and javascript from scratch in 3 weeks. It was my first time coding and I couldn't believe it when I was doing my project that 3 weeks ago I was blank and I didn't know anything about coding. I am grateful to the SheCodes team for their great work in teaching women like myself about coding.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the 8 weeks of SheCodes Plus and have grown in confidence every day. I especially enjoyed the repetition of the project in the final weeks as it allowed me to consolidate my understanding of the JavaScript. I can't wait to continue my coding journey.
