I've loved every single minute of absorbing knowledge and creating, and just engaging with other peers on the course. React JS is surely not easy and takes some time to understand but the course structure has helped me a lot. I wouldn't imagine learning this in a different way considering my zero tech background. I really enjoyed the challenge and feel I have learned a lot in the process. The support is good and while the schedule helps you stay on track, the team are very flexible if you need more time which is great.
8 weeks of knowledge, not complaining at all. I have learned a lot about search engine, API integration(it was not easy but taking my time and replaying the videos until I got it right helped a lot, also not to forget help from the slack team as well) and so much more. It is crazy that I can now create a functioning forecast weather search app. Grateful for the opportunity to learn such skill at no cost.

It was quite challenging, had to stop and start multiple times because I would have to debug often(My fault because I forget to put semi-colons on my JavaScript). although this ad-on was only for two weeks, there was a lot of information given. I would have liked to link it further (i.e. how we did previously with the list to chose any given city, not just the ones we code), but I understand given the timeframe that is not possible. These past few weeks have been very demanding but extremely interesting as coding became increasingly complex. Whenever I thought I already knew a subject, or at least understood its logic, the next lesson would break my confidence and increase my frustation. However, when you see your project developing and you are the one responsible for it, all the previous stress no longer make sense. It's a journey, not a sprint, so be patient with yourself, even if it doesn't seem like it, we are evolving step by step. This has been an interesting 3 weeks of trial and error, learning and challenging myself even outside of the SheCodes platform. Everything is explained in layman terms to better understand what each code does and how it can be implemented into what one is trying to build. One thing i like about the SheCodes community is how fast they respond once you send a message in need of assistance. Not only do the technical team respond, but the other ladies in the program also respond if they are able to assist. I would definitely recommend to someone who wants to learn how to code. Definitely excited to learn more and build more projects.
I've really enjoyed the Basics SheCodes course. The recorded sessions are clear and easy to follow. The challenges and homework assignments are both challenging and fun! I have zero background in the tech industry but after seeing the wonderful work life balance it has offered my husband, I became interested. I was scared to switch from something I am just getting comfortable with (nursing) and going to the complete polar opposite end. It really is like learning a new language but Matt and his SheCodes team have done a wonderful job of fitting it into bite sized pieces and offering enough opportunities to practice that you will in fact start speaking the language! It's a lot of fun. The best way I can describe it is being in an art class that asks you to replicate, or create, a piece of art with whatever means you know to get to it and its a puzzle! No one code is the same but the end product is very similar.

I never thought coding or just creating a landing page would be something I could learn and do!!! I am actually still in disbelief after creating my own landing page (I think my personal creativity let me down though lol). I have also heard that JavaScript is so complex before learning how to code, and honestly I really understand the basics. Matt is such a great teacher and the SheCodes team as well as Athena (SheCodes' AI assistant) are always a great extra help. I 100% recommend this workshop to beginners especially those who are doubting they could ever learn how to code.

Wow, I cannot believe I have made it to the end of my SheCodes journey! SheCode Next taught me the skills I need to now go out there and show the world all I can do in the coding world. I am forever grateful to the SheCodes team for all they do to help women code. I went from being terrified of coding to know completely in love with the process! I hope to one day have new courses to take because this was by far the best program I have been a part of. Matt is a great teacher and I know there is so much more I could learn from him!
