Having no previous knowledge in I.T, SheCodes molded me and I can see myself moving from zero to hero!. I am so hooked and thinking loud......, why not switch careers?. I have always wondered how to make websites that would scale correctly depending on the device they were viewed on. Despite looking fairly complex at the beginning, we've learnt that there are tools out there that are designed to help code responsive website without massive overhead and a fairly detailed documentation. A brief overview of SEO requirements was also good but fairly limited and will require a little more research but this wasn't the purpose of the workshop after all! I would recommend taking this workshop as it has given me the confidence to code an entire website that is functional on all platforms!
What a great experience! The free workshop was EXACTLY what I needed to finally make the jump into coding that I had been thinking about for so long, and the Basic workshop solidified my hunger for more. Matt is an excellent teacher and his love and enthusiasm for coding are infectious. This is learning made fun and delivered in easy to follow bites with just enough challenge to keep it interesting and to boost your confidence once you learn and apply a new skill. SheCodes has been an amazing journey. SheCodes Basics has simply been the best place for me to actually learn the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We used real tools, and thus got to work in the environment that professionals operate in. Lessons are very hands-on and you need to use the knowledge you've learnt in a lesson in the next challenge, so you have to pay attention. It is no problem though, because Matt keeps it very fun, up-beat and engaging. I would highly recommend SheCodes for any girl/woman/lady+++ who wants to learn how to code.
These weeks have been challenging, humbling too, intense, and super fun! SheCodes and Matt make this journey a very special experience, and I dare to say-life changing. I always thought coding was beyond me as it looked quite complex and overwhelming at first, but going through the course SheCodes Basics by Matt you learn step by step and break it down into smaller chunks. I really enjoyed the SheCodes basics workshop and will continue with the SheCodes Plus course! I wanted to learn to code for the longest time but none of the courses online appealed to me. Then I found SheCodes! I would highly recommend everybody that has interest in learning how to code to join the free coding class. The way the course is structured and explained (Matt is a GREAT teacher!!) is what convinced me, during the week you have exercises to do and you end the week with homework you have to send in. You learn by doing it yourself but you have a wonderful team and community to help you if when you are stuck! I also think that SheCodes have a great mission as a company, inspiring more women to enter the Tech industry!

I had been putting "Learn to code" on my resolutions for the past two or three years, but I would start and immediately get annoyed when I did not understand something. It always felt like they call it a beginners course but it really wasn't, so I felt defeated most of the time. But, with SheCodes, I felt like the structure of the courses and the way lessons are conveyed is so easy to understand, and the transitions from one topic to the other are so smooth. This was quite life-changing because now, I feel that I get how programming works, and the things that seemed abstract before, now make sense. On top of that, there is round the clock help in case you need it, this is something I haven't found with other online courses either. So absolutely, I recommend this platform.

Before this course, I was looking to develop new hard skills for my career. I signed up for this course on a whim, never having had ANY prior experience nor exposure to coding. I am a woman who wears so many hats, and the way the course is structured is perfect for me. The chapters are not overwhelming, and Matt is a very good teacher. Community support is also a big plus as if you're stuck; it doesn't take long to get help. The assignments are very practical applications of the concept discussed in each chapter. The workshop was great. I had a small amount of coding knowledge going into it, but definitely learned way more than I knew and have better clarity on what to focus on next! The videos had plenty of tips and tricks to help guide you along the way, and if I got stuck, a team member or fellow student was quick to answer and take a look at my code for where I was making a mistake! I was very appreciative of this feature as many websites do not have this! Overall, I would recommend! I now look at webpages in a completely new light!

I was scared to NOT understand all those symbols and words coding languages are consisting of, well, not anymore: 10 out of 10 times I would recommend to join SheCodes if your goal is to really learn and start coding by yourself!
