Wow! I absolutely loved this course. I have a background in Fashion Design, but I am looking to transition into UX/UI. I wanted to take this course because I do not have a background in coding. I will admit that I was scared before starting this course but I quickly felt empowered rather than scared! I always thought I wasn't smart enough to understand how to write code. I'd tried to learn in the past, and each time I struggled to feel capable in writing something on my own. I really enjoyed this course! I love how each unit builds on the previous one nicely. There are videos and challenges that help you understand what you are doing. I am starting to understand that coding can be extremely creative. It feels like the more tools you learn, the more you can combine them and create. This is a really effective course to start with for newbies to the world of coding like myself. It's easy to follow, with clear instructions and examples provided to guide us through each step. I always thought of myself as technologically challenged and the idea of creating something from scratch would have been unimaginable a few weeks ago. The SheCodes lessons were structured so well that each challenge gave me a sense of accomplishment. More than just the coding knowledge, this course gave me the confidence in myself to embark on a coding related career. Honestly can't recommend it highly enough.
The Basic Course is a good starting point for anyone who is interested in coding. The instructional videos are short and straight to the point. This makes it easy for anyone to follow along and complete the course at their own pace. This was such a fun course and I recommend it to everyone. It gave me confidence in a field that I was interested in but too scared to go into.

For the last three years, I have taught second grade in an elementary school setting. During the pandemic, I found a passion for technology and teaching online (unpopular opinion!). I have always loved designing and creating my own resources but had little knowledge on the subject. I realized a couple months ago that I would love to get into the tech world but didn't know where to start. When I attended the free workshop I was blown away by Matt's ability to effectively communicate how to code. I knew I could pick up on it quickly so I joined the course. The last 3 weeks have been so much fun! The course is clear and concise. Matt does a phenomenal job breaking down HTML, CSS and JavaScript into digestible lessons. The challenges really push you and give you a productive struggle. I highly recommend this course!
I would absolutely recommend this course for any beginning or someone who's interested in strengthening their chops! Be forewarned you will have to do a lot of research on your own but I think that's what makes it fun and really helps you learn. Be Brave!
What a fun adventure this has been! SheCodes Plus was a huge challenge for me. But I learned a lot more and I feel like I am way more confident in my markup language skills and JavaScript. Lessons are always easy to follow and understand and complex subjects are explained in plain English so as to not confuse you more. I am grateful for the SheCodes team and all of the help they gave me when I was frustrated and needed help to solve a problem. The way the SheCodes lessons are crafted really helps you find confidence in coding even if you failed to get the right answer the first time. Lesson on the basics --> challenge to implement the basics w/ a small element not taught explicitly --> solution to show how it could've been done & guide you to a right answer (not THE right answer). It's reassuring to know that even professionals look up the proper element names & it's SO. FREAKING. SATISFYING when you search how to do something online and it finally WORKS!! Having the option of reaching out to a pro on Slack is also incredibly helpful when you're really stuck on something! Highly recommend the course for anyone looking to get their start in coding!
I loved this workshop as much as the previous ones, if not more. I just opened my own website for the first time on my phone and I am so proud of what I was able to achieve. I am so glad that every little mechanism and/or functionality of coding a website, making it responsive, etc. is explained on its own. And that SheCodes offers little challenges along the way, helps enormously with my kind of learning. Very recommendable to try this course!!
Good fun learning the basics, how to tweak codes and how basic javascript and css work, excellent to play around with and be able to figure out where things are broken. Highly recommend.
So glad I found SheCodes! This was a great refresher for some of the web coding skills I'd already learned but had fallen behind on. It also showed me some different ways to code, from my previous experience, which was interesting. I also liked that the Intro course was short (as far as # of weeks) and that there were weekly deadlines, as sometimes it can be easy to put things off when "life happens." There's so much more to web development than could be covered in the basic Intro class, but I would definitely recommend for those who are interested in seeing if coding is for them!

SheCodes React was my third workshop and while it was definitely challenging at times I would 100% recommend it. I learned heaps about how to use React and how components work and how to bring it all together. Since I have a background in linguistics and teaching I particularly liked creating the Dictionary App, which is also why I chose that for my final project. Can't wait to get started with Responsive later this year.
I am super happy and proud that I fulfilled my new years resolution! The experience with SheCodes was great! At first, I was a bit irritated to have a male instructor when the service is called "SheCodes" - fortunately, there are female tutors in the back who are happy to help on Slack. ;) What I appreciate the most is the possibility to have a final project that is published with SheCodes and so have the ability to actually show my skills to people. I did the basic course, which I would recommend to anyone with no knowledge.
This was an amazing introduction to the coding industry. I've been hearing about it from friends but never really thought I would dabble in it myself. When I first joined Shecodes, I did not know any programming languages. I only knew how to basic coding for engineering on Matlab. After taking the three-week workshop, I got to know how to code something. I would definitely recommend this for those who want to try programming out. It very easy to understand, and the best thing is that you get to project at the end of each lesson. It would make you feel like a programmer when you do those projects. You get to put everything you have learned in that week into the project.

I registered to SheCodes Basic workshop 3 weeks ago and I feel it was a very good decision. I truly recommend SheCodes, because I am a very visual person and for me details like the platform which is very well organised with beautiful colors and designs, the classes are well explained specially topics like JavaScript which are usually a bit hard to understand, thanks Matt for explain it in an easy way, the homeworks are supervised weekly and also we received help of our mentors and you can even have a reply a Sunday which I though it was not possible.
