I chose 3 out of 5 for this product for a few different reasons. Some of the reasons I will list have a positive and a negative side to them. I am continuing on to complete the Plus and React courses as well, but the Workshop has set the tone for me in regards to expectations from SheCodes. POSITIVES: (1) SheCodes will help me reach a decent skill level in coding languages and software that are brand new to me. (2) The instructor provides good resources for you to further your knowledge [on your own]. (3) You can learn most of this information for FREE online, but the key to SheCodes is the packaging. You would have a difficult time finding a similar course that includes infrastructure, support and accountability. In my opinion, that is where SheCodes SHINES and is the primary benefit of learning code through this platform. NEGATIVES: (1) While the instructor points you in the right direction to helpful resources, I feel that SheCodes should also provide reference materials within the program (material created by SheCodes). The documentation for each lesson is helpful but it is inconvenient to hunt down, for example, how to properly code an event listener in JavaScript after I have moved on from that lesson. Also, the documentation for topics were introduced too early or too late. There were a few times where I remember watching the video then viewing the documentation and seeing concepts that had yet to be discussed in the videos - which also makes it harder to hunt down documentation later on while working on the project. (2) In the same vein, I also wish that there was actual documentation. The documentation included are examples at best, but I feel with the cost of the program, there should be accompanying text. Personally, I grasp concepts so much better when I can read something through. I understand you learn code by doing it, but I should have the option to read and understand why, for example, I have to change an image display to block if I want to center it on the webpage. The instructor videos VERY LIGHTLY scratch the surface of each language, and I feel that I deserve WAY more out of SheCodes for the cost. I still have 2 more sessions of SheCodes so maybe I will find more value along the way. CONCLUSION: SheCodes has good packaging but it only gets 3 stars from me, because I will still have to find and/or create my own reference materials to retain the skills I've learned. I am continuing on to SheCodes Plus then React, so I am excited to keep learning (especially so quickly)! However, I fear this will only amount to three INTRODUCTORY courses that I overpaid for.

SheCodes Plus was an amazing and challenging course. In just 2 months I have learned more advanced HTML, CSS and JavaScript (comparing to what I knew from a previous course) and add up some more skills - like working with API, GitHub, Bootstrap and Hosting. The whole SheCodes team in the front with Matt was incredibly helpful and motivational. The whole course is made so unbelievable well that even though you might have tons of work or school, you still will happily watch all the videos, do all the challenges and basically spend 8+ hours each week learning to code. And luckily, you will see the results! I highly recommend this course to anyone who thinks that coding might be something interesting for her. I am definitely going to do the next course React and silently hoping that SheCodes will make some more courses.
I really love the way Matt teaches the class because he explains everything that he is doing in an easy way to understand. Thank you so much to Matt, and everyone else for helping me learn React in a way that is understandable and that makes sense.
I have really enjoyed the SheCodes Plus course; the format of the course made learning enjoyable. I learned so much from these SheCodes Workshops. Matt explained everything very well and when I was feeling stuck, I could always ask for help on Slack and the community. It was a fun way to learn more about React and I feel more confident when applying on IT jobs. I really wish there were more workshops on SheCodes. I would definitely take on a new challenge.
I was able to accomplish developing a functional weather website that I never dreamed I could do otherwise. This course has given me confidence in my ability to create and understand code that actually results in a functional project. Looking forward to learning about REACT!

SheCodes Plus React is what I needed to gain the confidence to pursue a career in software developing . Matt is such an awesome instructor who is honest and fun to learn coding with. I really enjoyed building the final project and I felt that my knowledge is solid and earned. My goal is to find a career in web development and continue gaining knowledge into software engineering and SheCodes is the perfect kick start !!!
I was laid off from my 3.5 years job in Consulting and I took the opportunity to do the career shift I always dreamt to do from Business to Tech. I tried other websites to learn how to code but I was always feeling it was too complicated - and ended up feeling stupid. Thanks to SheCodes I was able to have fun learning meanwhile I was applying directly what I was learning. I was reluctant to take the next step which is Front-end react but now I'm more decided than ever to keep learning here!
I found SheCodes Plus a little more challenging. Time management is very important and just needed to make the time. However, after review the material a few times, I was able to see the connections with previous and new material in order to develop a working app. I look forward to SheCodes with React and plan on more dedication to meeting deadlines.

I enjoyed the React course. The course was challenging, but it was a lot of fun at the same time.
I wouldn’t recommend the workshop to people who already been through computer science class especially React. On the other hand I highly recommend this workshop for people who want to learn React or take their first steps into programming / development. I had fun during this workshop, it was nice to challenge myself and to try new things, as well as to improve my knowledge. The team is always ready to support you, even with problems that I had created myself by creating the project differently than requested, because I wanted to challenge myself a bit more. Thanks to you all, it was a fun time.
I started to first workshop out of curiosity and I never thought I would find a new path in my life, today I know I have a new skill in something that for sure is the future. I love the practical way of learning and I totally recommend it. I cant wait to start the React workshop.
What a fun & challenging course. I do not have a coding background so continuing to SheCodes Plus pushes my limits to see what I'm capable of. Definitely lots to learn & I can't wait to see what SheCodes React has in store!
This is an excellent course to be introduced in the world of scripting. 🐱🐉Explanations are clear and exercises are relevant to the topic, always adding a little extra to promote self study and investigation skills. 🤓 I am so much looking forward to the next workshops and learning UX/UI design and React development!
I decided to continue my coding journey with SheCodes after learning a ton in the intro workshop and finding that I really enjoyed it. I really love this style of learning because you can revisit the difficult material as many times as you need. I really benefited from looking at other student's codes and problems in Slack when I would get stuck. João is amazing and quick to help! I'm leaving this workshop feeling accomplished and excited for React!
I'm very glad I took the entire SheCodes series. I strengthened the skills I already had and I've still learned so much, even though I have taken a few intro coding bootcamps. Honestly, React doesn't seem nearly as intimidating now as before I began the React workshop. In general, there are are quite a few things I'd already run across before while learning JavaScript but I didn't fully grasp them until I took these workshops. Matt walks you through the lessons in a very approachable way and the slack community definitely keeps you from feeling like you are on your own to figure things out. I highly recommend this series to anyone wanting to learn JavaScript and React.

I have really enjoyed the SheCodes Plus course; the format of the course made learning enjoyable, and at no point did I feel overwhelmed as lessons were broken down into manageable segments with challenges at the end in order to check understanding. I have always felt supported throughout and am really looking forward to starting the final React workshop!

Working through my first SheCodes class, I was excited learning about HTML & CSS, but was scared to learn about Javascript, based on stories I was told. I completed my first class, and then did SheCodes plus, and javascript was almost nothing! I started my SheCodes React, and was terried, but Matt made it easy, and explains everything thoroughlyso you understood why it was that way. If there were more SheCodes courses, I would most definitely be signing up!
After graduating from the SheCodes Introduction to Coding, I went on to SheCodes plus - it's been an overall fantastic learning experience. Matt is a fantastic teacher and Lexi has kept in regular contact checking in, which really adds to the experience. I studied Computer Science at University, but felt I was unable to code, and had zero confidence in myself. It has been a few years since I graduated from university, and I felt ready to step back into the field. I now want to continue my journey, take the next step with SheCodes to learn React, then continue my learning with the aim to begin a career as a software developer.
Learning to code and becoming a certified Front End React Developer has been one of the best investments I've ever made! After doing the SheCodes workshop, I knew I had to join SheCodes plus. Matt's classes and videos are very clear and easy to understand. From the most basic concepts to a more complex way of writing and understanding code, Matt's way of teaching students is easy to keep up with and will leave you with solid HTML, CSS as well as javascript knowledge and the healthy habit of wanting to learn more and more. Highly recommend this React course. As with the previous courses Matt delivers easy to follow, comprehensive lessons and challenges that gradually help you build an understanding of React. I personally found Javascript vanilla difficult to use and implement. However I found React much easier and simple to work with.

I have completed a few courses recently and I believe SheCodes has the best set up I've seen. The online community on Slack is friendly, helpful, inclusive and you can find all the help you need if you get stuck on the tasks. SheCodes has found the perfect balance between providing support and giving the users flexibility to complete the course in their own time. Matt's videos are clear and easy to follow! I'm really enjoying the course and I am signing up for the React Plus as I want to keep learning. I also really love seeing everyones final projects!
After learning how to do the same exercise with Vanilla Javascript, I have to say React is so much more fun. Still hard but things make more sense. The last three months have been challenging and enriching. Learning how to code will change my career and I thank SheCodes for helping me take the first steps.

I am very fascinated by all the things SheCodes.io was teaching me within a little amount of time and the awesome international community. This program is amazing. It gave me the skills needed to land my first internship at a new start up. They were impressed by my project and knowledge of JavaScript so much that we are already looking to build in React. So far I'm the only women on the team and we hope to add more soon.
The SheCodes React workshop was incredible. I gained so much knowledge. The course was challenging, but fun. The concepts were easy to comprehend. SheCodes takes the time to help you when you need further clarification and assistance. I started SheCodes in June with the first course and worked my way up to React. These three workshops taught me so much and I feel more confident about coding. I learned how to design, code and gained a full understanding of what the code means. I have obtained a valuable skill which I am sure I will be able to use in my career. I am happy I made the investment and joined the SheCodes community.

This workshop was great! I have a better, deeper understanding of the three front-end programming languages (HTML, CSS, JS) from this workshop. I'd long been curious about exploring the world of coding but didn't know where to start or if I was even capable of learning how to code. Two weeks ago, I noticed an ad for one of the Express Classes and registered on a whim, taking it as a sign that my time to start coding was here and now. After that, I immediately enrolled in the Introductory Workshop, and I'm so glad I did. SheCodes has nailed it with a formula of easy-to-follow instructional videos, challenges, and solutions, making coding accessible and fun. Each lesson kept me engaged and excited to proceed. I realized how much I looked forward to coming home from work and continuing my lessons. I truly enjoyed building my final project and applying all of the concepts to create my very first landing page using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I think it's safe to say that I've discovered a new passion for coding and look forward to learning more when I enroll in SheCodes Plus React!
I honestly really enjoyed this work shop and I learned a lot. The lessons are so easy to follow and I never felt like I didn't have enough time to learn everything for that week. I would recommend to my friends. Also I loved the radio station. I plan on going further and taking the "Plus React" classes next 😊🤍

I went into the SheCodes Workshop with minimal knowledge in HTML and CSS that I gained through my own trial and error. I was surprised at how much more there was to learn in this workshop, and how enjoyable it was - at times it was hard for me to stop working. Completing SheCodes Plus has left me with more confidence to continue improving my coding skills, I'm looking forward to start SheCodes React. SheCodes React makes it very easy and interesting to learn React. I really enjoyed the format with short lessons, each directed to a specific topic. This makes it much easier to keep focus, instead of being bored in a long and dull lecture or being "bombarded" with several subjects at once. Now that I have a strong foundation in React, I feel prepared to kickstart my career in tech!
Having completed the SheCodes intro course I just had to sign up to SheCodes plus. Great course, I've learnt so much and really feel like I'm getting to grips with coding. Onto SheCodes react!

I've enrolled to SheCodes Plus React, so far my first weeks of the workshop is interesting and equally challenging but fun. I am looking forward to my lessons in the few weeks to come.
SheCodes is a great workshop. I was so excited to start learning coding and after first 3 weeks I even want to learn more. All video lessons so well made, great explanation and challenges where you can practice everything you've learn. I signed up for a React Plus workshop too and I know this just a great start. And I'm glad I did it with SheCodes. Thank you!
I had some periods of frustration, more than I had expected with this project. This program is not for beginners. I should have invested more time reviewing tutorials online for JavaScript and CSS. There are free ones on the MDN website that aren't instructor led like Matt's program. I would not recommend them to learn from start to finish, but they are a way to test what you know and find solutions to what you don't know. My recommendation to anyone taking the SheCodes Plus program is to make sure you are comfortable with Javascript before moving into this more advanced workshop. I am looking forward to SheCodes Plus React, which I have already paid for but I need to work on my JavaScript skills a little further before venturing into the more advanced workshop. Although I am taking a little break, for now, I will still be studying and working on JavaScript so that in the next month or two I will be ready to take on the challenge of SheCodes Plus React.
After taking the Free Coding Class, I knew I had to enroll in the SheCodes Workshop right away. I never thought of coding as an option for me, but having the free class to see what it's all about was super helpful. I would have never dreamed I'd have so much fun learning these new skills! Matt's videos are excellent and the support you get through Slack is outstanding. I can't wait to enroll in SheCodes Plus React.

I never would have thought I would get to this stage "React!!!". I am glad I took this opportunity when lockdown began. I have learnt a lot and it has been a combination of fun and frustration. SheCodes Workshops have been a challenging but rewarding experience starting from their Introduction workshop up to React. Every week provides step by step lessons, challenges and homework that are testing but easy to understand; you remain engaged and practicing week to week. There is definitely more to learn and more practice needed coming out of these workshops, but they are a great starting point to continue your growth in coding. It definitely has been worth the time and investment.
What a ride! From doing the very first free coding class, then completing my basic 3 week course and continuing to SheCodes Plus, I finally finished with the whole shebang and completed React as well. This was definitely challenging and I wouldn't have been able to do it without the support of Matt, Lexi and João who have all been very helpful and dedicated to make this a beautiful experience. The SheCodes community is amazing! I really enjoyed having access to the other students if I was ever in a pickle, and reading through other peoples contributions on Slack I learned a lot as well. I'm hoping to find a way to keep learning React and incorporate my new skill into the way I work (in my current field of urban forestry 🌲🌳)- and hopefully create tools to make the world a better place. First things first - I’d like to thank the whole SheCodes team, and especially Matt, for creating top-notch courses and yet affordable for anyone who doesn't have any developer/coder background but has a tremendous interest in stepping into that field. SheCodes plus leveled up from the introduction course, and it was way more challenging and, at the same time, way more exciting and fun! I've created something that works! (how cool is that! 😎) I can’t wait to see what the last chapter of SheCodes React will bring!
I started this journey with zero coding skills and unsure if I would enjoy this field. Now, on the day I finish SheCodes React, I am glad I decided to give this program a go and sad that it is ending. SheCodes was an amazing journey.

I highly recommend SheCodes workshops! I've been wanting to learn how to code for years, but had trouble finding the time. I was able to complete this workshop during weekends, and the material is challenging but Matt is able to breakdown complicated topics for beginners to understand. When I was feeling pretty stuck on a couple of homework problems, SheCodes staff was quick to respond and assisted me over Slack. Now that I've completed SheCodes Plus and React, I feel more confident, knowledgeable, and look forward to learning more!
I can't really emphasize how much I enjoyed it. I haven't stopped talking about it since I joined SheCodes, probably I will be talking about it for longer. The lessons are structured so well and clear, that it keeps you on track even when your schedule is at its peak density. Thank you for making this fun and always making us feeling supported. Next stop, React!
After completing the SheCodes workshop, I immediately signed up for SheCodes Plus React. I am so grateful to have found this program that made coding fun and accessible. I really look forward to continuing my education and hopefully begin a career in front end development!

SheCodes React is a great course to take if you want to learn even more about coding and make your CV stand out from the crowd! It is certainly not easy, but I guess it's all part of the learning curve. I really enjoyed building yet another weather app and looking forward to starting a career in this field and learning even more! The SheCodes courses have kept my mind occupied during the pandemic and have helped me realise that there are other industries out there you can work in and not be stuck doing a job you don't like.
