Ladies and non-binary folks, if you're looking to get your feet wet in the world of coding, SheCodes is where it's at! I recently completed their Basics course, and had such a great time that I decided to level up and try out their SheCodes Plus program. Let me tell you, some of those later sections were a real brain-bender, but the experience was totally worth it. If you're a newbie to coding, I'd definitely recommend practicing your JavaScript skills and dabbling with APIs a bit before diving in. But with a little bit of elbow grease and a lot of patience, you'll be coding up a storm in no time. A huge shoutout to Matt and the whole SheCodes team for putting together such a fantastic program - you guys rock!

The program was really easy to follow even for a beginner like me. Matt was able to teach the concepts in a fun way, and I love that there were challenges and projects to really gauge if the student understood the lessons!

The SheCodes Basics Workshops were overall a great experience for me as they gave me both the great foundation of learning HTML, JavaScript, and CSS that was fun to learn and easy to follow (Matt is a great instructor!) and getting more excited and interested in the world of coding! It was a fun learning experience, I think Matt is an excellent instructor.Clear, concise and to the point no confusion at all.

I had problems in first weeks but I learned after try hard and thanks to Matt how teach very good with lots of examples in each parts so I really enjoy the classes.

Building a project step by step along with Matt has been great, I'm really proud of my work! However, two main challenges I had with SheCodesPlus: 1. The JavaScript concepts are oftentimes not thoroughly explained, it remains for the most part quite superficial, you WILL need to dig deeper on your own. I personnally studied with a bunch of Youtube videos and a Codecademy course in parallell. 2. Towards the end of the project, everything revolving around API needs to be updated. In Matt's video, he uses an older API than the one you're supposed to use. So it's quite tricky to follow his steps and understand everything. The Slack chat can be really helpful in this moment, which is very nice. All in all I'm happy with my work, happy with my progress, and the support on Slack is great. But I remain slightly disappointed by the video courses which left a lot of questions unanswered. That's the beauty of code, you might say. The learning never stop!

I enjoyed so much this workshop from day one. Matt's lessons are so well explained, that every challenge was so entertaining to make and woke up my curiosity to learn. This first journey has been fun and I feel excited to continue with SheCodes Plus. I highly recommend it!

SheCodes is a one of a kind coding bootcamp. I am really impressed with the ways the lessons are taught. From basic HTML, CSS, and JS to the final project, I can say that I learned things from this. Given that I got the course for free, this is a good foundation for me to continue in coding. SheCodes is a good platform for everyone, beginner to expert. From their good videos to their new AI feature, Athena, who helped me in some of my codes. Thank you SheCodes team and Matt for giving me this opportunity. I must say that this course has been my favorite, completing the project in a responsive and SEO-friendly way has been a challenge but at the same time it has been satisfying. At the end of each lesson, delivery of the challenge and review of the solution, I wanted to continue to the next lesson because, in each of these steps, Matt taught us information that I did not know and tips that in my case allowed me to understand much better how to improve the User interaction with the websites. I look forward to the next course.

Truthfully, I never thought I would one day learn how to code, let alone learn how to work with multiple languages synchronized together. I am immensely proud of myself for achieving this feat and grateful for Matt and the SheCodes team for every bit of help and support they provided. It's been a great experience making my own portfolio website with SheCodes Responsive Workshop. I really like the way Matt explains on how a developer find solutions to the challenges that comes while developing a website from his own industry experience. In this workshop I worked on responsive design making using media queries, Bootstrap, CSS best techniques and Figma tool for designing. Feeling proud after developing my responsive portfolio website and super pumped up to create more projects with responsive design.

For the past few years I was working in Retail Industry but I was really interested to try coding and change my career to front end developer. The SheCodes Responsive Workshop expanded on the importance of mobile responsiveness for web development. As Matt mentions during the course, creating a responsive website can be challenging, albeit rewarding in the end! This workshop delved into the concept of Flexbox and how to utilise it, a tool I was unfamiliar with. Overall, I am very satisfied with my progress during this journey! I look forward to learning React and all other topics the next workshop has to offer!

I am 25 and a stay at home mom. I came across SheCodes on a social platform. I really appreciated that they had a free 1 hour class to discuss what they do, how they work, and how easy it can be to learn coding, through them. Being a stay at home mom has its difficulties, and I really appreciated that it wasn't time consuming. It did still take lots of effort, but I finished the basic course, and really LOVED my entire experience. I am a lot of things, a designer a model, a dreamer... the list could go on but ultimately I am a creative. A few months before this course I did some learning on freecodecamp.org and then moved to shecodes.io just to experiment with the idea before committing to an actual degree in Web Systems. I am currently studying in college and I am so much ahead in my courses I am taking all thanks to the help of SheCodes. I've taken some time in the world to decide what I want in life and within that process I found a love for coding. I specifically want to pursue a career in cloud computing. I also want to learn/experiment with the integration of animation in web sites. I look forward to learning more and plan to do many more workshops to further my knowledge! My interest in coding began in late 2022, whilst I was in my third year of University. I realised that I had little passion for my major and wanted to find something new that would spark passion within me. I had thought about going back to university after I graduated to study an MBA or something in finance. But, 2022 was a year of exploration and self discovery for me, I had met a lot of friends within the tech industry, who suggested I look into coding and that coding was a great field for women. So, I did just that. I began my research and saw an overwhelming amount of different positions within the tech industry. Immediately, I was drawn to the idea of cybersecurity and began to do a course on that on freeCodeCamp but it was overwhelmingly difficult and frustrating. I gave up as quickly as I had began. Then, I return after I had written my final year exams and went back to my research, I looked for advice from the large online coding community and everyone had advised to start with web development, as it was the foundation of understanding coding and breaking into the industry. So, I started again, watching Youtube videos, following along with them as they began to code, and at first, it was overwhelming but it made a lot more sense this time since I was taking baby steps. I spent a month being self taught, assimilating the different markup languages, wanting to perfect them before I added Javascript to my roster. I went on Tiktok and found my community in 'Black women in Tech-tok', that's when I came across SheCodes for the first time. I always knew I was a learner that needed a roadmap with structure, so I knew I would thrive in an online school or course, so I knew SheCodes would be for me. I had a stable enough understanding of HTML and CSS and SheCodes helped me begin to understand the ropes of Javascript and I'm excited to learn more, know more and grow with SheCodes. This is only the beginning of my journey with our amazing instructor Matt and the SheCodes team.

That was an interesting course for learning the basics, with having no coding background I liked the setting and the presentations. Sometimes, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of content, but actually it is not a big deal. You get help through Slack and Athena Al are terrific helpers; Athena Al walks through more details. I cannot believe how Matt makes it so easy to learn how to code, the multiple challenges and interactive videos make it easy for us to follow and implement what we learn as we go. My confidence in my abilities went from zero to almost 100% when it came to applying the concepts taught. I would recommend this course to all women around the world it is truly worth it.

This workshop was much needed! Learning how to make my projects responsive was a game changer and really beneficial. After finishing, I went through and edited my previous projects so now they look great no matter what screen size they are being viewed on!

Learning React is not easy but Matt's instructions were really clear and made it easy to understand the different concepts. Matt is an outstanding instructor! He's very objective and clear in his explanation, the classes are divided in a way that makes the learning super fluid and fun! Despite having a solid foundation in HTML and CSS, I previously struggled with understanding JavaScript. However, Matt's classes, along with the engaging challenges that accompany a lot of classes, have turned JavaScript a lot easier for me.

I learned a lot in SheCodes Plus! It's so satisfying being able to put everything together to create an app. Things really started to click while completing Plus.
