This course is amazing because it takes you by the hand and teaches you how to code. I love how Matt teaches; he makes learning and understanding easy to learn.
HTML and CSS began and ended on a positive note for me. Java Script was difficult at first, but with Matt's guidance and assistance, I soon got the hang of it and ended up successfully completing my project.

Wow, the React course is a total game changer! Now I understand why many employers require this. Albeit it was quite challenging to go from the "individual components" initially learned to being able to integrate this and build a React App, it was totally worth this. I can see myself spending many more hours substantiating my knowledge. I am glad there is a React Ad-on class following this, as it's simply such a vast universe! Matt guides us super well though and makes even the frustrating moments more fun and gives us a feeling of "we are not alone". Would recommend to anyone wishing to learn React to follow his guidance!

I love the structure of the workshops, with the learning broken down into bite-sized chunks and plenty of opportunity to practise what we have learned. Before I found SheCodes, I was just about to give up on learning to code after months of trying ... now, not only am I "getting it" (mostly 🤣), but I am really enjoying it too!
The Responsive Add-on was fun to learn. In just two weeks, I picked up ways of making websites responsive, which gave me more confidence with coding. Matt’s teaching style is super chill and easy to follow, making complex stuff like CSS and responsive design feel simple and fun. I enjoyed building the website for this project and advance my skills with grids, tables and hero images, all while making sure my website looked great on any device without using Bootstrap. This whole experience really helped me get a solid grip on HTML and CSS.
Learning React JS was really challenging but I managed to push through regardless. I learned quite a lot and I would like to thank Matt for his detailed video lessons and explanations. Getting to learn the difference between writing vanilla JS code and React JS was really amazing more that React JS is more strict. At the end of it all I am happy to have learned some skills with React JS like using hooks and state management, conditional rendering, components, installing NodeJS and other external components, how to call API's and build them. I am very excited to continue practicing and perfecting my skills and learning more as I continue my web development journey.
The Plus workshop challenged me but it was a really amazing learning experience. I enjoyed working through a lot of coding challenges and pushing myself to understand and absorb all the information. It was fun learning with Matt and the SheCodes team provided great support with my questions. I took this class to gain a better understanding of python and matplotlib and apply it to my work. It was a really good choice as I had a fabulous experience doing SheCode's front end development courses back during the start of the pandemic. I really like Matt's teaching style, and although I didn't make much use of the community (the questions asking mechanism that the community provided earlier was now replaced by Athena, which is a fabulous tool as well), I had a really good time and will probably go back and do some of SheCodes ad-ons that they've released since I graduated my earlier courses. Happy to now have foundational knowledge of Python which will help me steer with my further experience / knowledge development. Thanks SheCodes!

Repetition is the KEY!! I'm very happy with this workshop I love how the exercise makes you repeat the knowledge acquired so it sticks. Now I can code be myself without watching the video the HTML and CSS piece. Still away to go on js but is a matter of practice that this course makes you to do it. I'm learning do much!

Definitely the most challenging workshop yet but I surprised myself with how I was able to (eventually!) figure things out with some trial and error. Matt's a great teacher and I finally feel like I turned a corner with JavaScript thanks to his explanations.
SheCodes workshops gave me such a unique, fun, yet rewarding learning Experience. I have received extremely hands-on experience through various challenging but interesting projects. The project-based learning means you will come up with a portfolio while giving you a real feel for what a programming role will be like. This balance between learning and application, I feel will trump any other coding course, in regards to teaching style. While some days were very challenging no day was dull. The team helped out whenever I was stuck ensuring I do not fall behind. I definitely recommend SheCodes to all women out there who desire to learn coding and other related skills.
