I was already interested in coding and was trying to learn online. Until one day I saw SheCodes in Porto ad and I immediatelly signed up. The workshop was wonderful, Matt is very didactic and caring, his team is always ready to help. This event gave me energy and enthusiasm to invest more in this career.
In a couple of days I learned the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript in a very interactive and easy way. The workshop is well structured, everything is taught with examples and then you always have an exercise to practice. Matt is an excellent teacher and is very straightfoward in the way he teaches.I really recommend this workshop if you want to understand better the programming world!!

I always had the curiosity about coding but because I don't have a coding backgroung I was always afraid to participate in coding courses. But then I read about SheCodes and the fact that there is no need for coding backgroung to attend the workshops. So I decided to try and it was the best decision I could've made. She Codes model, in my opinion, works very well and it’s a very well-built course that focus mainly on practice classes, where you have challenges and homework every week that forces you to actually code and put into practice what you’ve learned. I really enjoy the fact that classes are online and recorded, so we could see the videos many times if we had doubts. Also, I think the price is very competitive considering all other market offers and you really learn useful things and not a ton of unnecessary theory. Really enjoyed my time here and learned a lot! Definitely want to continue learning. Thank you Matt and the whole team!
After doing the weekend workshop, I sort of expected the She Codes Plus to be good. But I wasn't expecting to be this great. Matt's classes were superb, the additional videos helped a lot and his passion was palpable. The content was made in a way that everyone were able to understand, without losing relevancy. I created things in 10 weeks while coding by myself that I never imagined I could. Praises are not enough. So, if you have the time, just go and do it. You won't regret it.
SheCodes is an excellent program to develop front end skills. The course is very well structured and every week you learn something new and apply it immediately. It is challenging, however you never feel alone because of the support you encounter, both from the team and the amazing people doing the course with you. SheCodes Plus was great because I could develop what I initially started in SheCodes - Lisbon. The online platform was very well organized. The rewatchable Tuesday classes, the challenges videos + the exercises sequences helped me a lot to prepare myself to do the weekly homework. Never in my life I thought I could actually be capable of building a proper app, with real time information. This workshop sometimes was "sweat, blood and tears" but when I got things done and working it was a huge feeling of accomplishment! I strongly recommend this to all women who want to have a real understanding of what really is Front-End Development and its frameworks. SheCodes gave me the tools and now it's up to me to keep on learning! It boosted my confidence to pursue this as a career change! Thank you Matt, João and all the SheCodes staff!

I went to Shecodes workshop because I wanted to discover how code works since IT is more and more on our lives and, to meet people in the code industry to understand what they really do. Well it turns out that it was more than that, not only I learned the basics but I also tried on some code and met very interesting people (attendees, former shecodes students and Matt - the instructor). It's a very intensive workshop, don't get discouraged if you don't get all of it on the moment. Obviously, you can't learn how to code in a week-end but it shows you how to get to it and gives you some advises. After the workshop, you will know if code is your thing or not. I really enjoyed the workshop; I speak several languages and coding may be the next one. It was definitely a good experience for me.
It all started with my restless curiosity ... curiosity about the coding world. After all, what do developers do on those black screens full of color coding? How can they create so many powerful things from a black screen? And so I went looking for a coding initiation workshop. I found SheCodes and its initiation workshop in one weekend. Some of my developer friends validated that SheCodes had amazing workshops and they couldn't be more right! Matt is an engaging speaker who introduces us to the programming world and encourages us to make the most of every minute of that weekend. The pace is mind-blowing but inspirational. The result of those 16 hours is that you can do a number of things that 48 hours ago you didn't even think possible. I loved it!
Prepare yourself because this will be the most productive weekend you've had in a while! You will learn three coding languages - HTML, CSS and Java Script - during the workshop and from that point on you will be able to create webpages by yourself. As a journalism student, I see nothing but benefits when it comes to learning code, especially considering how much the digital world has increased over the years. There is no doubt that Matt is an incredible teacher and most important he will teach you how to turn into an autodidact. Spend a weekend at SheCodes and you will probably think the same! 💜

I've really enjoyed the online coding workshop and I can not believe how much I've learned in such a short period of time. If you want to actually learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript basics - take this course with Matt. After taking a bunch of other courses in-person and online, this is the only one where I truly felt that I understood everything. My goal was to have functional knowledge of Javascript basics, and I definitely gained those skills. I'm very excited to take the next step in learning more so I can make my designs and illustrations come to life.
SheCodes was the perfect way for me to start learning how to code! SheCodes surprised me with what I've achieved in four weeks! The course is accessible for everyone and you don't need any experience. I'm truly happy that I've learned "my first steps' with Matt, our code instructor.

Matt is a great instructor. He presented all of the information in a way that was easy to understand. I feel that the material was structured very well with a good balance of live classes along with the convenience of learning at our own pace at home. I enjoyed the whole experience - learning, the homework, the project...all of it! I will be looking for the SheCodes Plus availability that will fit my schedule soon.
I attended to SheCodes Live Workshop, so I can only talk about that. The course itself is instructed nicely, however I believe the curriculum was not very well suited to the amount of money that you pay (at my time it was 99 euros). you are going to have Courses and homeworks for 2 weeks, and the whole third week is dedicated to your final project, which I believe it could be better if they would have some material for the 3rd week too (Matt is going to have live webinar for 4 times in total, once per week). If you are brand new in coding then yes that is a good way to start. Also the slack-chat environment has a really nice, helpful and friendly atmosphere. BUT for someone who has a tiny little bit of coding experience I wont recommend this course. you should look for more challenging homeworks and syllabus. They are at the starting point though, so most probably they are going to improve themselves a lot.

The SheCodes Workshop has opened a new world to me. I gave it a go just to try a new skill and see if coding could be a path for me. Turns out I have achieved much more than I expected in a fast, but totally effective way. The learning environment is great, with all the girls helping each other and Matt does a great job!
SheCodes workshop is a fast-paced crash course program that gives you a basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and is the perfect place to understand whether coding is for you without committing too much time or money. SheCodes workshop was an amazing experience for me! I got to learn something that is usually perceived as complex and difficult in a really friendly environment. The program was really well planned and organized, the classroom atmosphere was very relaxed and positive, with classmates helping and encouraging one another during the exercises. SheCodes staff (including volunteers and technical assistants) were very attentive and supportive throughout the weekend and really made a difference in the experience (including Matt's playlists! :)) . Thank you all! I am looking forward to learning more about coding in the next program I got enrolled into - SheCodes Plus - and to build an app at the end of the program.
I always thought that programming and code writing wasn't for me. It simply felt like something unachievable, to be completely honest. I am an Engineer student but unfortunately, I was never exposed to code in such a way that felt or seemed attractive. I can truly say that Matt made it feel like it was such an easy ride, but most of all made me curious to understand and know more! I attended one of the coding workshops in Lisbon. While the 2 day workshop is quite intense and fast paced, Matt's instruction is highly effective. My expectations for the ability to grasp the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript were exceeded. This was a pleasant surprise me as I knew almost nothing about coding beforehand. For any lady who is interested in a career as a developer, SheCodes is the perfect starting point.
This workshop has been the perfect start into the coding universe. It gives you the basic knowledge on HTML, CSS and JS so that you understand if this is your thing. SheCodes is a great way to start coding! This weekend was very productive. Matt is a very dynamic teacher and kept us always focused on the goal: learn as much as possible during an intensive 12 hour-period. First you learn about HTML and CSS, following by JavaScript. I always wanted to learn more about JavaScript, because it's one of the most popular programming languages. A very intensive weekend, very fast paced and very productive. Matt has an incredible ability to simplify the coding world by introducing us smoothly to it. I left the workshop uplifted and with a new goal in my life: to keep learning how to code, because it is fun and challenging! I recommend this to anyone, but especially to those that feel that programming is not for you. SheCodes will change your mind!
SheCodes was truly amazing. I always admired the Web Developing world but never had the courage to get into it. When I found out that SheCodes was coming to Braga, I knew I had to take the opportunity. Thanks to this course, I have more options about what career paths I want to chose and it definitely gave me a new perspective about the industry. Thank you so much Matt, best teacher ever!
SheCodes is an amazing program to get introduced to the basics of front-end development and experiment with coding. Everyone on the team, especially Matt, were great and explained a lot about the industry and possible career options! It was a really fun and intense adventure in the coding world with some amazing and inspiring woman! It is a really good opportunity for those who want to try programming - but be careful - it can be addictive! The way Matt gives the workshop is also amazing - it is a mixture of badass coding and some real insights about the programming world. Thanks for demystifying coding and showing us that we can actually do it!
Amazing way to start the world of coding. Really easy to learn with Matt, timeline was perfect and the course was full of exercises. Being that interactive helped us a lot to understand what we were learning. It was a great weekend 😃. I totally recommend SheCodes! 🤩
SheCodes was such an incredible way to join both knowledge and fun! During the workshop, I was able to discover the world of code and web development, which will, for sure, be useful to me as a future manager. Also, Matt was always willing to help and motivate us, which was useful for the process of learning. At this point, I'm really looking forward to exploring this new world!
SheCodes was my first contact with programming world and it is amazing how fast we can learn and start coding! In just two days, I have started programming and I'm in love! I totally recommend if you want to learn some new skills, become developer or product/project manager. It was intensive but Matt is an amazing teacher, you will practice all weekend and there are lot of people to help you in the process. Get ready to have a lot of fun too!
