With the start of this pandemic I started to think about what I would do with so much free time. Fortunately a friend showed me Shecodes and, although I thought I wouldn't be able to, I took the chance and learned a new skill. I finish this course very happy and much richer. Thanks to Matt and his team who teach us how to program in a clear way and that makes everything look like "a piece of cake!"

When I took my multimedia master's degree I chose to take classes of "coding" HTML, CSS and PHP with SQL. The teacher was good but the truth is that I was very worried about getting the master's degree and I just memorized things. I left university wanting to escape everything that was frontend or backend... Until SheCodes came to me on Instagram post. And... SheCodes was an amazing experience...I was a bit terrified that I couldn't keep up, but Matt and all the team are really extraordinary! SheCodes is a great workshop for beginners to fully understand how HTML, CSS and Javascript works. I always tried to learn code by myself but the aproach you have witch a teacher explaining it is very different than just being alone learning. Matt has a lot of patience and I learned a lot with his classes!
The workshop was really well structured and gave me a first look into HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Matt explains very well and the hands-on exercises are close to his examples, but require a bit of adaptation, which is great to not only reproduce, but also think by yourself. I loved the workshop! It's really organized, helpfull and funny . Matt is a great teacher. He knows a lot how transmit the knowledge. The place is very good and has easy access. The assistants are so kindly. It was everything good in my opinion and I really recommend it. I think now I'm more confident to follow the code world.
This workshop could change completely my ignorant way of thinking: I concluded that coding doesn't have to be necessarily Maths. I didn't really have expectations when I registered. The instructor Matt was very clear and really knew how to catch people's attention! I've ended up thinking that maybe it's not too absurd to think about future contacts with coding. An excellent way to learn to code even without any basic knowledge, since it could be easily turned into an overwhelming experience. Also, the teaching method is very practical and the fact that Matt is an experienced full stack developer is a big bonus, explaining every line of the codes and advising about the dos and don’ts.
I had a great time at "SheCodes". It is a lot to see in two days, but Matt manages to make it flow the best way as possible. I give an extra star for the music (made the workshop even better). It was my first contact with the world of coding, and I am looking foward to next course.

I come from a financial area and kind of tech friendly, but before the course I could never imagine that my knowledge doing macros in MS Excel (which looks a bit old fashioned in times of artificial intelligence) could be highly connected with JavaScript. The weekend was full of new concepts and the SheCodes methodology allowed Matt and the team challenge us at the same time we had lots of fun.
I saw an ad for SheCodes via Instagram and was intrigued by the whole concept and initiative to get more females into tech and coding! As a sociology student, I already had some experience with coding in other programs and languages, so I wasn't all new to the concept of coding, but learned a ton nonetheless! Matt's teaching is delivered in a very pedagogic manner, which makes a whole lot easier for both beginners and people on an intermediate level. Definitely worth it!
This course definitely exceeded my expectations! I didn't have any coding background and by the end of the first day I was able to understand basic html and CSS, and at the end of the course I was feeling like a real geek :)!
