Today marks the end of eight weeks journey with SheCodes Foundation. Those eight weeks have been so amazing. I can code with advanced html/CSS, JavaScript data types and function, how to work with UI development and can use API. I am pleased to announce that I have successfully completed my responsive course. Responsive was very challenging to complete but I learnt quite a lot from this course. Making a website responsive was tricky but seeing the end results of my work was worth it. Never give up on a code, take a break and try again is what responsive taught me . I had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised! Learning how to code was't boring with SheCodes. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't easy for me as I had zero experience. It was supposed to be 5 hours a week, but I think I spent a lot more time. I would like to learn more with SheCodes!!
Its been fun to learn so much in two weeks.
I was able to learn how to add HTML select elements, JS timing events as well as manipulating different time zones on Javascript! It was quite challenging but fun!
I appreciated the practical approach of the course, especially the project-based learning. The course structure was clear and the lessons were engaging and easy to follow. With this project, I've learnt the basics of JavaScript for adding interactivity to web pages, such as form validation, DOM manipulation and event handling, hosting and deploying websites. It's a great introduction to web development.

Learning the new elements has been slightly challenging, but following the instructions and steps made it easier.
My name is Whitney Reed. I'm from Mississippi, but now living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Back, in 2019 and in 2021, I had got in trouble. I lost custody of my daughter to my aunt and uncle in Mississippi. In 2022, I was into a relationship not too long after that and I wasn't happy with my life and the choices i made in it. in 2023, I, then, decided to moved to New Orleans. My goal was to do DoorDash with my car and saving up money, but i ran my car down and sold it. After using up my money and resources, I called a friend up for advice on the next move. She suggests a shelter, so I look one up. The second listing on Google was the New Orleans Mission. It's a faith-based homeless shelter that has an amazing 1 year discipleship that gets people learned about God and help you get back to him. After that, they help people get back in society, and help people get back with their families. I'm a graduate of the program and now into the transition stage, where I'm working full-time and working on a car and housing and hopefully, reuniting with my daughter. It's wonderful. While I was there, I was thinking about get back to school, especially in computer and technology. I already went to four colleges, but i dropped out of all four (mainly because of the discussions). One day, when I finally did my research, I came into SheCodes and signed up in Novemeber 2023 on the Black Friday sale. So far, I love the setup. I like how Matt explains each lesson so well. I definitely like Athena AI in answering my questions so well and also the people over at Slack as well. I wanna thank the people responsible at SheCodes for giving women the chance to learn how to code. I appreciate it!
It was a lot of fun to learn how to make websites responsive. This course left me feeling confident and accomplished as I can now make my websites functional and visually appealing for the users of my websites, regardless of the screen they are accessing it on.
