I can't recommend SheCodes enough. I have already been able to use the coding I have learnt from Matt into practice. The course is very well structured and easy to follow with on-hand help when you need it.
I really loved this course! I learned many new things and it was truly exciting to try something different from what I usually do. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to dedicate some hours to a new hobby. The lessons are well structured and Matt is simply amazing: he teaches in a fun way and the challenges are stimulating: not too easy, not too difficult. It was a great project to work on for someone new to coding. Learning more Javascript and trying out some Bootstrap styling for CSS were two of my favorite aspects. I do think it is very tricky to figure out how to set up Git on a Chromebook and it would be great if future versions of this class make it clearer for those using cloud-based systems.

The workshop was fun and challenging at the same time. This was my first coding workshop that I have attended since I started my coding journey and I learned so much in the past 3 weeks of taking this course. I have no regrets about enrolling in this workshop and I'm considering in enrolling in SheCodes Plus React workshop.
I had always been interested in coding but was worried it was too complicated and would be impossible to learn. After taking the SheCodes Introduction to Coding workshop, I decided to take SheCodes Plus to expand on the basics I'd already learned. This course was a lot more challenging (as expected), but also very rewarding. I was able to build a fully-functioning weather application that I was very happy with and even started delving into more advanced concepts to get the forecasting functionality to work. I am now considering taking the SheCodes Plus React course, and will definitely be continuing my coding journey. If you're in doubt as to whether or not this is for you, I'd say just give it a try - you might surprise yourself! Matt is a great teacher and presents everything clearly and in a logical way. Great program for total coding beginners like me. I enjoyed every moment of this course. Everything is explained step by step in a very clear and accessible way. The great thing is that you can learn when it is convenient for you. And when needed, help from Matt and the SheCodes team is very quick. Before, I never thought that coding could be so much fun and addictive. ;) I would definitely recommend SheCodes.
Who would have thought that learning the basics of HTML, CSS and Java Script would be so easy and such fun! Granted, there were a few details that it took me a bit of time to get a hang of and in other cases trial and error technique was necessary, but all in all it was a great experience. It did take me more than five hours a week to complete the lessons and homework, though. My average time spent per week was about eight to nine hours. Matt has a great way of making you understand the functionality of coding with humor and creativity. Even though you don't learn in a group the videos make you feel as part of a community. On slack you can get all the help you need from SheCodes employees and other students, giving you the secure feeling that there is always someone there to help if you get stuck. Summa summarum: It was a great experience and I learned a lot in a very short time. Having a better understanding of all the work and functions behind even the simplest website really changed my perspective on my user experience online.
I'd learned the fundamentals of HTML & CSS previously, but was beginning to find it difficult to start putting it to proper practice. The workshop was a great refresher and helped me consolidate what I'd already learned, with the added bonus of breaking into JavaScript as well! The homework was fun, and I especially enjoyed the final project - I'm really excited & definitely more confident to proceed now. Thanks, Matt & the rest of the SheCodes team!

A great way to learn coding for beginners! Having done very little work with CSS, HTML or JavaScript before, I really enjoyed learning the basics step by step and applying them to my own project.

I can't believe it has already been three weeks! Time really does fly by when you're having fun I guess but it somewhat also felt like much longer than "just" three weeks, since I learnt so much. It does feel like a new world and new possibilities have openend up to me after the beginners workshop from SheCodes, so it goes without saying that I highly recommend it.
I've enjoyed every minute of this course. It's so well organized and everything is explained step by step so you don't get overwhelmed with all the new things you have to learn. So happy I found this course. I have been interested in coding for a few years now, and what better time to learn than a pandemic. I think the hardest part of starting any new skill is not knowing where to begin. SheCodes makes it easy. You receive deadlines, easy submission portals, hands on tutors (and other students), as well as easy to follow along videos. As stated, deadlines are given and encouraged, but because of the pandemic I found myself slipping behind, which was no problem as you're able to submit your work when you can. I also found the fact that the courses are broken up into 3 sections (beginner, moderate, advanced), to help with those who want a beginners course, or are seriously considering SheCodes for a career. I've tried other online courses (such as code academy) but they didn't offer the detail and personalized help that SheCodes provides). I can't wait to continue this skill through the more detailed and longer courses and highly recommend this website to others!

I've tried various methods of learning to code, including Youtube and free tutorial websites. Nothing really 'stuck' for me until I tried SheCodes. I absolutely LOVE the format of SheCodes. With this workshop you learn how to code in HTML, CSS & JavaScript and you also learn to think as a programmer. I fully enjoyed this workshop. I really enjoyed this little course, I learned a lot more than I thought and especially it has given me a greater interest in coding. I like how the course is divided into short videos and challenges so it makes it very achievement oriented and keeps you motivated, the time frame is very realistic and the community is lovely. Oh and I love sheCodes Radio!!! I listen to it all the time now, even outside of sheCodes, especially the 'energy station', it is the perfect playlist to work with. I can't wait to do the plus react course in the future!
SheCodes is a great way to get started into coding. The exercises allowed me to put into practice what I learned and discover new things along the way, which is essencial when doing a practical activity. Only watching/reading material is not enough and I think the exercises allow us to really learn by doing. Highly recommend and hope to do the next workshops soon! :)

I had no basic knowledge of coding when I first started, but I've always been interested in learning how to code. Taking online courses can be very hard, especially having to sit and watch a long video; SheCodes is well structured and the videos are clear and easy to understand. Matt is a great teacher; I thought it would be close to impossible to learn the basic concepts of coding online but now I know that it's actually possible.
Coding is something I never thought I would enjoy as maths and logic based learning has never come easy to me. This course was absolutely what I needed to push myself through the fear of failure and open myself up to a whole new way of thinking and working. I absolutely loved every minute and could not recommend this course more!

SheCodes Plus has been instrumental in my coding development. The pragmatic structure of the tutorials and tasks has meant my learning has always been practical, and not focused purely on theory. The course has encouraged a lot of independence and sharpened my research skills as everything is not handed to me on the plate, meaning when faced with a problem with my code, I have to search for answers just as a developer would. Now I have a good grasp of Vanilla Java Script I am looking forward to utilising this using the React framework in order to build more cool and exciting projects.
The lessons are easy to follow which makes the workshop really enjoyble! I'm happy that I gave it a try and looking forward to keep learning!

I've thoroughly enjoyed this workshop - Matt's teaching style is super clear and being able to play the videos on demand or rewind to parts you want to see again is really helpful. I had a little HTML knowledge from a long time ago, this workshop has really helped me refresh that and learn a lot of new things too. I would recommend it even if you know a little HTML/CSS as you will learn a lot more throughout the course.

The workshop is a great introduction to coding. By myself, I was quite stuck; before finding SheCodes, I would have learned the material from free materials without actually putting it into effect. I recommend SheCodes coding course for beginners to anyone who wants to get started with programming or just to get some basic knowledge about htms, css & javascript. The structure of the course was captivating. I liked that the instructional videos were short and specific, and were followed by tasks about what was learned in the videos. At the end of each week there was a more complex homework, that required a little longer focus and putting together what was learned throughout the week. Learning was fun & exciting, like a game :) Thanks!
Coding first caught my eye this summer when I felt I was done with running restaurants and I decided to learn a new skill. I did not know a lot about coding but the more I learned the more I love it. These past weeks have been a lot of hair-pulling and screaming in frustration, but mostly it has been amazingly fun and overall a great experience! I look forward to learn more and build a career in coding.
SheCodes Plus provided a rigorous and immersive 6-week advanced coding workshop that finely crafted and sharped skills learned in the previous 4-week course. Each lesson equipped us with the skills to complete the challenging daily assignments and weekly projects and was exciting applying what I learned in the lessons to create my own functioning weather application. I am very excited to continue my coding journey in the next React course!

React App is a little difficult to understand and navigate through but everyone has been extremely helpful. The videos walk you through 99% of the basics needed and rest, just ask on slack and someone will always be there to help you out when you get stuck. It was a little frustrating but overall, a great experience! I would love to learn back-end development from them if it ever comes out!
This 3-week workshop was a way to test myself on whether or not I could code. I have learnt so much in a short amount of time. I can say, coding is fun ! I can't wait to get started on the advanced workshop next week ! π

This was a great and rewarding experience I would really recommend to anyone curious about coding. I was a total beginner and a little sceptical about the claims that this course can kick start a career as an actual coder. However, I feel it's a really effective foundation and there are lots of really useful tips on resources that I would not be able to get from anywhere else given I don't work within tech nor know any developer and internet is so full of information, this really strips it down to what you ACTUALLY need to know. I definitely have more to learn, but it's really fulfilling, fun and you get all the support to achieve a lot in a very short time. I did this course so that I can look back to 2020 and feel I've achieved something, and I can happily say this has definitely delivered on that ambition :)
I feel this program was the perfect introduction to coding! Iβve always been curious about the art of coding and was seeking a new challenge during quarantine, Iβm so happy to have signed up for SheCodes. The classes are well laid out and the challenges are a great way to ensure you have fully grasped the concepts. Most online platforms do not offer this type of interaction; SheCodes is a great way to learn online. I will add that the sense of community is truly excellent, overall very satisfied with this platform.

Growing up I did not engage anything STEM related and now I regret it! Learning to Code gave me a powerful sense of wow I could actually do this! Keep in mind I have no experience with technology, I currently am a Teacher Assistant, and after taking this workshop and learning from Matt I'm thirsty to learn more about coding. If you're ready to learn a new skill to advance or start a new career, take a stab at coding. I was hesitant at first, but now I'm hooked!
