SheCodes Coding Workshop Reviews

I first learned about SheCodes through an online ad and joined the free coding class and was highly interested. So I decided to enroll in the SheCodes Basics course. I had zero experience with coding and the programming languages and thought that coding would be inaccessible. But I learned the basics in a fun and didactic way. I especially loved the way how each lesson was divided into a basic information video and the challenge where I had to apply the basics directly. That helped me to understand each new concept before moving on to the next. I can't wait to study more with SheCodes!

I learned so much in three weeks and I never, ever imagined coding to be so much fun. It's somehow meditative and highly addictive. I will definitely continue with the advanced courses because it's great to exercise creative control. Thanks to the entire SheCodes Workshops-team for a great experience! Thanks to the entire SheCodes-team for a wonderful platform!!!

Came into this course a complete beginner. At one point I didn't think I understood anything but it all just clicked which has made me so happy. I haven't learn anything new in so long, it was a challenge for my brain but I'm so proud pf myself for completing. The course is structured nicely and easy to navigate, Matt is also a fantastic teacher.

This experience has flown by so much quicker than expected! I am grateful to have participated in SheCodes, and can honestly say I have learnt so much. The videos were easy to follow and 100% understandable, making learning 3 languages so much easier than anticipated. I think it's such an important skill to have, so I would recommend everyone to give it a go!

Before the SheCodes workshop, I had very little until no knowledge of HTML and CSS but I wanted to learn it to improve my skills as a product manager. After 3 weeks I gained new skills, and can now do more and more implementations with confidence. I really enjoyed the flexibility of the courses because I could learn it while working full time. Matt is explaining everything very clearly and step-by-step. It was fun to start learning to code! Thank you!

I never thought I’d enjoy learning coding this much. Every lesson was totally understandable and clear. I could get the help I needed just by using Slack. I started the course with zero knowledge and now I’m willing to learn more.

I'm a support agent, and I started this course because I'm trying to learn more about how the coding world works. The free class won me over and I decided to try the basic course, thanks also to Matt's ability to involve me with his teaching. I was not disappointed: the lessons were all very clear, the challenges were fun to try, and the satisfaction that I felt after successfully submitting my homework every week was huge! I may think to upgrade and continue with the other workshops, but for now, it was really nice to learn the bases of coding and I'm grateful that SheCodes exists!

I learned so much during this workshop. Every lesson+challenge feels like a fun game and it's so gratifying to be able to build a website as a final project. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in coding. I had so much fun learning and designing.

SheCodes Plus was a challenging but instructive course, in which the knowledge gained on SheCodes Basic was deepened. It was a very enjoyable experience as well, and the staff was, as always, helpful and friendly. After this course, I became even more curious and motivated to learn React, which is my next goal.

I'm proud that I took the step to try out the basic coding workshop to learn about coding, and I truly discovered my interest in this field and looking forward to learning more and expand my knowledge. Thanks for all that supported me during my journey!

This is the perfect workshop to start learning coding. I thought it will be more difficult that it really was. Matt explains the concepts gradually and it is really easy to understand them doing the small challenges. I am really exited to learn more about coding with Shecodes!

Very happy to found this courses! In less than 3 weeks I have learned how to actually build something from scratch even if it is very basic. Any time I had problem it was solved quickly on Slack and also I was happy when I could help solving other's problems. I recommend it to anyone, even if you do not want to work in IT it is fun to learn how the web pages work.

This was a first time after a while that I really enjoyed learning something and I think that says a lot about how great this coding course is. Loved how everything is structured and how Matt explains things. Thanks and can't wait to learn more complex things.

Just completed the SheCodes Basics Course 😀. I enjoyed the course right from the start, it has been a fun and challenging experience. The videos are concise and Matt explains everything really well. I am a Computer Science student, recently became a Junior at DePaul University. My goal is to become a Software Engineer. I took this SheCodes course because I wanted to learn more about CSS, Html, and JS. The course went by pretty quickly but it was really easy to follow. Thank you to the teachers and peers!

I have taken previous coding workshops but SheCodes was really learner and user friendly. The lessons were well-organized, fun and interesting. If you really want to understand coding and take a step into this fun and fascinating language, SheCodes is for you.

I loved the flexibility of this course. Being able to set my own schedule and work at my own pace was one of the reasons I wanted to get into coding in the first place. Mixing art & technical skills was another. So far, I'm absolutely loving what this new career path is giving me--freedom to work wherever, whenever I want, and purpose/drive that is extremely fulfilling for my brain. I'm extremely happy/proud of what I've accomplished so far; Matt's videos are very easy to follow/learn from, and I can't wait to see what's next!

This workshop is so worth it ! I could keep on learn at my own pace step by step and always having someone to answer to any question on slack is just amazing, I really felt like I was part of a community !

It was such a great experience and for someone with no good knowledge of coding, I found it easy to follow and so interesting! I highly recommend SheCodes Basics to anyone who just found an interest in coding and want to learn more. The classes are well structured and the challenges after each lesson make the program more fun to complete. I had a lot of fun coding my first webpage from scratch and felt like a real coder!

I took SheCodes so I can get an idea of what my first CS class in college would look like (also because I am a sucker for anything that battles the gender gap disparity) and to also gain some background knowledge. I loved the course and would like to continue the rest! What a fun way to learn HTML, CSS, and JS. The lessons were short allowing me to absorb the content. The assignments were just tough enough to make me really think, but definitely do-able.

The languages of coding have always seemed like those things that other people knew. But now I can say that I'm part of the club too. SheCodes is great at bringing you into a new world of knowledge and setting you up to learn practically and efficiently, how to code. I really enjoyed the opportunity to think differently and creatively.

Another awesome SheCodes coding workshop completed! The Responsive workshop was so much fun and I loved learning about custom CSS and Bootstrap techniques! If you have an interest in front-end web development or design, SheCodes workshops are a must!

I've been interested in learning the basics of coding for a while and I'm glad I decided to sign up for SheCodes Basics. I've tried some of the apps available but nothing stuck. The workshop kept me motivated with the small challenges in each week. By breaking the information down into smaller sections I felt like I was able to see my progress in a tangible way.

I really liked the workshop! It was very friendly to follow and a perfect way to introduce me to the world of coding. It was awesome how everything we learned come together in the final project. :) P.S. The music on the Radio was awesome too!

The pace, instruction and tools SheCodes provided to learn coding was perfect for my learning style. I would highly recommend to anyone who likes to work at their own pace and is a visual or auditory learner. I loved that there were challenges to check my progress and a community to reach out to when I needed it. If you're looking for an introductory coding course, look no further!

SheCodes is a great platform. I believe if a person wants learn coding, starting with HTML and CSS is a right choice and SheCodes is just the perfect place for it. Learning to code in website responsiveness with SheCodes has been an amazing experience. They cover the topic from many angles and show many useful techniques as well as tons of practical applications! I definitely recommend this course!

SheCodes was amazing! I never thought I'd be able to learn how to code. Matt made it so easy and simple to learn and follow. He breaks it down and builds on what you've learned from the previous lessons. Slack was also a huge help when I was stuck or confused. I really enjoyed working on this weather app and I am so pleased with this accomplishment. I have learned a lot during this workshop and the mentors were extremely helpful. After 3 weeks I have learnt a lot but, most importantly, I have gained much more confidence and I feel I am ready now to keep learning so as to achieve my career goals in coding. I really liked the way the course is structured. It was flexible enough for me to watch the video of each lesson whenever I had the time for it and then I could put into practice all I learnt through the challenges and exercises. It has been great fun! The feeling of success when solving the challenges was very stimulating.

It was quite a journey to learn coding with React, including moments of frustration, but mostly with positive feelings when my ideas came alive. Thanks to Matt and the entire SheCodes team it felt so much easier to get started with coding. And I can’t wait to use my new skills in many more projects. For me coding is the perfect mix of creativity, logic and detective work.

Out of pure curiosity how programming actually works I signed up for SheCodes. SheCodes allows every woman to learn programming. It was a lot of fun and broadened my horizons. My fullest recommendation!

Coding felt like an unknown territory that seemed hard to get into, but SheCodes made a lot digestible! I still have a lot to learn and need more experience to do it well, but I look forward to taking more of their classes in the future.

SheCodes made the coding classes fun and so easy to follow! When I wasn't coding, I would miss the classes! I can't wait to continue the courses and learn more languages and advance my skills and hopefully start a career in Tech!

The Basics course was light, the pace was just right, and very fun! The challenges kept me focused on remembering/learning, and the homework was a good way to test my skills. I absolutely recommend taking it if you’re unsure!
