My experience in SheCodes Basics has been great! Not only have I learned the basics of two mark-up languages (HTML and CSS) and one programming language (JavaScript), but I also feel motivated to delve deeper into the coding world and learn other programming languages that are used for scientific research. Because of this course, I feel more well-versed in coding than I did before, I feel confident applying to positions with some coding experience and a certificate, and I have realized that anyone who is a blank slate when it comes to coding can actually learn how to code. Since the first lines of codes from the very beginning I am grateful for my decision to attend the SheCodes workshops. These lessons are well made and helps believe that it is possible to learn coding even with "zero" previous experience.
It can be intimidating to begin coding when you have no background knowledge, but I found the setup of this class to be incredibly welcoming and helpful. It is truly flexible to fit into a busy schedule, while also encouraging you to really focus and learn! Matt is also a fun, motivating teacher in the videos. Building further on the first 2 workshops, the third course - SheCodes Responsive - learns you how to tweak your website so that it looks great on both desktop and mobile devices. During this course you also get the building blocks on how to easily unify layouts and colors. The clear and spontaneous videos learn you how to work on your personal portfolio websites without getting bored. Add to that a speed course on SEO and this course helps you to make multipage website manageable and searchable. Once again an amazing course by the SheCodes team and I'm already looking forward to the next!

It's flexible so you can really learn on your own rythm, but with deadlines so you commit to it. I also got help very quickly on Slack. So overall, a very good experience!

Learning how to code with SheCodes has been a great experience! I have learnt a lot in a short space of time through engaging videos and challenges. I came in with zero knowledge on how to code and have finished feeling knowledgable and confident to code. I have learned so much, when the concepts were first introduced, it seemed so overwhelming, but now they seem like common sense. I set myself a goal earlier in the year that I would learn how to code my own webpage and applications; and I still can't believe how far I've come. The content, the platform and the support have really pushed me to not only elevate my coding skills but I take with me many other valuable lessons on how to manage projects, structure your workflow and write better code. I joined the SheCodes Basics workshop while on maternity leave as I wanted to learn something new besides thinking just about the baby's arrival :) The workshop was a lot of fun. Everything was well-explained and I feel like I have a better grasp of what coding is about.
The SheCodes Plus workshop was no easy feat, but with the detailed lessons and help of other students/instructors, I completed the course and created a weather app that people can use! Excited to move onto the React workshop and learn more!
Super fun and challenging workshop! I have learnt so much over this workshop and it is so rewarding seeing it all come together in the weather app for the final project. I am so happy I continued and will continue on this coding journey :D. I am still so impressed with the teaching style and all the resources at our hands. Such a supportive learning environment which really makes it easier to keep going when you get stuck or feel lost for a moment or days or maybe a week. Looking forward to the next workshop!
This was a great experience. It's so easy to acclimate to the format and exercise-based method of learning; I finished the workshop despite cognitive difficulties due to a previous brain injury. That's really amazing to me because I tried learning JavaScript from other sources several times before my injury and still didn't understand it until I took this workshop.

I really enjoyed this course. It was easy to follow along and the assignments were fun. I thought coding would be an overwhelming skill to learn but this course made me realize how fun it can be.
Learning how to code presented some challenges as a beginner but turned out to be heaps of fun! Getting to see our final project come to life feels very rewarding :)
