Best workshop for busy person who would like to learn some new skills

I really enjoyed my experience learning to code with the SheCodes Workshops. I had so much fun but also felt quite challenged at times so it definitely kept my mind stimulated. Matt is a great instructor and the SheCodes team was very helpful and quick to answer my questions on slack when I got stuck!

Not my first coding course, so I was able to breeze through a bit but definitely learned some new tricks AND this was the most fun I've ever had learning coding.

I'm so excited to keep learning!

I really enjoyed this course - I'd say it's perfect for everyone who's new to coding! It is well structured into short lessons and little challenges. The supporting community on Slack made the entire experience really interactive. I'm super motivated to improve my coding skills and learn more!

Lessons where very detailed and well guided by Matt. Learnt so much from just 5 weeks! Am extremely happy that I am able to produce my own portfolio page where i can showcase to my future employers.

I completed the SheCodes Basics program with a working knowledge of basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I am able to create a basic, functioning, interactive webpage. I had tried a free coding camp previously but the content was not suited to my learning style, and they did not show us how to use actual coding tools such as VS Code and Colorzilla. I finished that course feeling more confused than when I started, online with SheCodes, where I actually learned useful things that I will be able to apply irl outside of the courses. The SheCodes course material is perfectly suited to my visual learning style, and being able to go back and reference the videos at any time, as well as work alongside them in real-time in VS Code, was extremely helpful. I feel confident in my knowledge and abilities. The Slack group is also an amazing resource and any question I asked was answered within an hour. There is a big sense of community and teamwork, and it is clear that everyone wants each other to succeed. I started the SheCodes Plus course this week and have already learned even more! What I really love about the experience is that I came into it not really knowing anything about computers, and thinking it would be hard to learn. However, Matt and the SheCodes team have created a program that is easy to learn, just the right amount of challenging, and most of all, fun! I will absolutely be recommending SheCodes to any woman in my life who may be interested in learning how to code. Its an amazing and extremely fun experience, and I cant wait to learn even more!

I went into learning how to code thinking that it would be really hard, but Matt and others at SheCodes have made it simple and really easy to understand. I had fun applying everything I have learned. I cannot wait to learn more!

With no previous coding experience, I have learnt a lot in this class. Html and CSS weren't much of a problem. I had a bit of challenge with javascript. But then with constant practice it won't be a problem soon!

I'm a product designer with no previous coding knowledge. I really wanted to understand how to keep scope down in my projects at work, and learn how to work better with my developers so that I could speak the same language as them. After just 3 weeks, my communication has improved tremendously with my devs! I couldn't believe it, and neither could they honestly hahaha. So grateful to have taken this workshop!

I really enjoyed all the SheCodes workshops and it was fun to make the final project and create a web page on my own. I'm glad I got such a great opportunity to learn coding and I hope I can keep enlarging my knowledge in this area. The information was given in a simple and understandable way so the learning process went very smoothly!

Really liked this course, I was familiar with some things, and learned a lot of different stuff as well!

This workshop was very interesting. It's easy enough to learn and as very well explained. At the same time this workshop is extremely usefull.

I loved learning with Matt he did very well explaining everything. When i got stuck i would just go back on the video where i was stuck on or if the code wasn't working and then i was able to solve my own issues.

The Basics course has been great! I have been eager to learn more on the next step!.

SheCodes basics has been filled with a lot of learning and fun! Matt explains everything in a good way and it is so helpful with the videos you can go back and watch again and again. I would highly recommend the course!

Starting a change to a new career in programming I was very overwhelmed and scared by the complexity of the academic program as well as the language with which I started, however SheCodes helped me to realize that it is not only the language but also the way of transmitting knowledge and see it reflected in what is done, its connection with something real and tangible. Now I feel that I can learn to program and make beautiful, useful, functional and modern things.

I just finished SheCodes basic and all i can say is it's simply amazing. The lessons were short and precise and our tutor matt made it very explanatory and easy to understand. I can't wait to learn more on SheCodes Plus.

SheCodes was an excellent, challenging, fast paced experience of learning the basic elements of HTML, CSS and Javascript in bite size, easy to digest, weekly classwork videos and assignments. Those quick easy wins are euphoric and give you the momentum to push past any troubling moments while you are learning. Matt has a great energy. He gives the tools you need to complete the assignments and projects in a way that is exciting. The knowledge you gain teaches you to recognize code in the things you already use and allows you to dream about what you can create once you gain the knowledge SheCodes provides.

An excellent beginners course to coding. I am hooked. I cannot wait to continue with the next level. Matt gives clear instruction with a blend of direct learning and the odd bit of personal research to complete the lessons and projects. So happy I found this course.

I'm celebrating a personal win today. Although it took me a little longer, I completed this course while in treatment for cancer. Thank you to Matt and the team for getting back to my questions and making these lessons easy to follow. I'm looking forward to continuing learning with SheCodes Responsive in a few weeks! I really enjoyed Matt's teaching style when learning during the Basics Course! He was able to explain the material very well and thoroughly. I didn't know where to start when it came to trying to teach myself how to code and was always on the fence about the FREE coding class in itself. But after listening Matt breakdown the curriculum step-by-step, I joined a free workshop and signed up for the Basics course the same day!

I absolutely loved the SheCodes Plus workshop. It was fun, inspiring, and at times-challenging. I can't believe I've been able to learn how to build a weather app from scratch in so little time. I'm excited to take on the next challenge and continue to improve my code! Thanks Matt and team!

I tried this out just because it looked interesting and I had been casually learning how to code with different apps. This course showed me that 1) it's not as hard as I thought it would be and 2) I really enjoy coding! As a painter by trade, I was under the impression that coding is for "math-y, smart people" but coding is like a huge puzzle that you put together and ultimately design a different kind of artwork. Matt breaks down different steps and concepts into very manageable chunks of information that easily build on top of each other. I am so grateful to SheCodes for opening this door in my life and showing me another opportunity!

SheCodes continues to be one of the best decisions I've made for myself. The flexibility and freedom it provides me to learn on my own time combined with the quality of content has resulted in one of the most successful learning experiences I've ever had. The Plus course is definitely where the core content comes in and you really start learning how to build code. It is challenging and requires dedicated time and effort, but is extremely worthwhile.

SheCodes Plus helped me to further understand what I learned in SheCodes Basic while keeping me on my toes. This whole course was extremely fun from start to finish!

SheCodes React was the perfect workshop to continue improving my programming skills, while learning about Reach technologies.

I am very surprised at how much I learned during this workshop. Many of the topics in SheCodes Plus were completely new to me and while I may not be 100% comfortable with them, I am not completely lost either. Matt did an amazing job of explaining the process and walking through this with us step-by-step. I couldn't ask for a better teacher!

The Basics course has been great! I have been eager to learn more every time I log on. Matt has a great sense of humor and he's a great "explainer". I'm looking forward to more classes.

Before SheCodes, I have no idea about coding but I have always wanted to learn how to code and this foundation has given that to me and a platter of gold. Now I can create a web page on my own and I can't wait to be a professional web developer.

For a long time I've envisioned working with software development, but by being already 30 years old, sometimes I thought it was getting too late to switch careers, as someone that came from a business background working with procurement and sales. But I kept pursuing my dream and managed to find a job as a QA, doing manual testing for a software. But manually testing only, at some point was no longer a challenge, and so I had the opportunity to work with test automation. While looking to start learning programming language, I found sheCodes basics and I instantly fell in love with Matt's didactics, teaching code in a simple, fun and clear way! That really helped me to get a head start, with a testing tool that uses javascript as framework. It's been over 3 years working as a Quality Assurance Engineer for automation, and I love it! And to keep increasing my coding knowledge I decided that I want to become a front end developer. So I asked my boss about this possibility, and after showing him the sheCodes bootcamp he decided to invest in the course for me and soon I'll be picking up front end tasks. I can't wait!

I really enjoyed working with SheCodes and learning the basics. The tutorials were easy to follow and I didn't feel overwhelmed or pressured to get the work done which helped me be more relaxed and enjoy the process.

SheCodes Plus was just as enjoyable to dive further in HTML,CSS,& JS. Plus, it was exciting to learn how to use GitHub, API & host my project. Matt & the tech team are very helpful if needed, which is a bonus ontop of this self-pace bootcamp 😉

I enjoyed the basic SheCodes course and it really helped me to kick start my coding journey. Lectures are easy to follow, explanations are quite clear and the Slack chat is very useful when it comes to asking questions and getting support. They also provide learners with a lot of resources for projects, which is great. On the downside, I expected to get a deeper knowledge of JavaScript. That part was too basic and it felt like we could have gone a bit further. Apart from that, I loved everything else and I will definitely recommend this course to those looking for an introduction to coding.

A truly excellent, fun and interesting course! I loved every minute of it and feel like I learnt a huge amount in a very small period of time. Would highly recommend to, well, literally everyone. Thank you SheCodes for creating something so wonderful.

I had tried to study some code languages before and taken a few free courses online, but never seemed to get engaged enough to finish. I was afraid history would repeat itself with this... but no! Now I'm finally starting to learn how to code. This was my first ever completed coding course and I had a blast! I only wish I had started sooner! The basics level course was great for getting my feet wet in this new area, yet was not difficult enough to scare me away. I really appreciated the ability to do this part time, it was much more compatible to my work and lifestyle. I hope to be able to continue and grow my knowledge and CV with more coding skills!

I wouln't have thought to be learning the basics so fast.

I had always found coding to be very intimidating but since I began to learn with SheCodes I have really enjoyed it! Each lesson is very clear and easy to understand. I love that I was able to work at my own pace and had help from classmates on Slack. Any time I had any questions for the SheCodes team they got back to me right away, even on weekends, and were very helpful! I look forward to continuing into the next workshop.

Fantastic course - a really great way to build upon the basic knowledge and get into more in-depth learnings on HTML, CSS and JS. I would highly recommend SheCodes to my friends!

It was unbelievable. I had started learning JavaScript many times, but each time I quickly became frustrated with its complexity and always thought I could not work with it without help. But during this workshop, Matt patiently simplified the complex concepts of JavaScript to help me overcome my fear of facing it and learn the concepts he had taught us, without anyone else's help.

SheCodes feeds my need to learn something new as I progress through each week. The courses are set up so that I can schedule around a cross-country move and around an entirely new work schedule. The self-paced aspect is one of my favorite things about SheCodes.

This coding course was both challenging and so much fun. I learned so much, and while I don't feel entirely confident and ready to code on my own, I learned some very solid basics and got a taste of more advanced coding, so I know what to look for if I run into trouble on my own. Learning how to build apps with React definitely has not been the easiest to grasp in the beginning, but once you get the hang of how things work, it is very rewarding. Also, Matt's style of teaching and breakdown of concepts absolutely helped me make sense of this framework. I feel like such an old fart lately, its been a great time learning about coding. I am better able to troubleshoot and communicate with IT support at my job, it makes things much easier.

This was so fun and so helpful! I work in digital marketing and with developers everyday, but taking this gave me so much more depth of knowledge to do my job! Can't wait to continue to learn!

Learning the essentials in this boot camp has already helped me understand web design to a much better degree. Even after this first workshop, I am already communicating better with my team of developers and am understanding how to design better for web.
