As someone who knew absolutely nothing about coding, this basics workshop was very informational. Matt was a great instructor, and really broke everything down to the basics in each video. I am very excited to move onto the next workshop and continue my understanding of front end web development!

What an eye-opening learning experience! I was never interested in coding because I was scared I would never understand it, but SheCodes Basics changed my mind, and now I'm hooked. SheCodes Basics was the perfect entry-level coding course for me! I admit I started the course with doubt - "Will I be able to follow? Will this be easy enough for me - a complete beginner?" But after the first few lessons, I fell in love with coding, how creative it is and now I can say that I truly enjoy doing it. The course is well structured - I enjoyed 'challenges' after lessons (helps to cement the new knowledge) and the fact that after each 'challenge' we had an explanation video on how Matt would have completed it. Matt Delac is a great instructor - he gives clear instructions and a lot of tips on how to become a better coder throughout the course. The SheCodes team is very helpful and I enjoyed the SheCodes Slack community.

I've been learning so many different coding courses online but only SheCodes workshops keep me going and completely build up my skills. Although there're barely any interactions between the instructor and the student, all lessons are well prepared and delivered. I remember trying to memorise every elements in the very first lesson and now I can build a webpage on my own! SheCodes Basics was a great beginners course! I had some prior HTML/CSS knowledge from my MySpace days, but the instructor, Matt, did a great job going a little deeper into each topic. Javascript was brand new to me, so Week 2 was a little trickier but rewarding. Matt did a good job providing a clear overview of JavaScript basics. I loved all the exercises after each lesson, and I thought the weekly homework was an awesome way to put what I learned into practice. Overall, the course was appropriately challenging and fun!

Going through the workshop was pretty intense, for all the good reasons. I usually paused and asked myself how hard it would have been learning all that Java Script without an instructor who broke everything into reasonable bits that one can easily absorb and process. Matt has been such a great instructor. The Slack technical team was amazing too. Well, Slack is where I learnt from other SheCoders that it is OK to feel stuck while working on a project, and that there is no shame at SheCodes if you cannot piece everything together at a given time.
