I wanted a new challenge in my life and career, as well as a way to flex my creative muscles in a different way. I tried other coding training programs but was left fending for myself if I needed to debug code. However, the Slack component to SheCodes has been a game-changer: I can get support from instructors and students alike! This is the first page I've been able to build from start to finish, and am confident my progression through the full SheCodes slate of programs will give me the skills I need to make the switch to a career in the tech industry!

Mat is a brilliant instructor! I can't emphasize that enough. But I have to say that React is really challenging so prepare yourself for a lot of hardwork. I suggest everyone deepen their knowledge in JavaScript before starting this course.
The instructor explains things in a way that really helps you understand what is going on. For a moment you are freaking out like, oh that sounds confusing but then he tells you to hold on, and uses some sort of metaphor to help explain it. I learned some things that I didn't quite understand before.
This course was super challenging, but it was really exciting and lots of fun! I love that this course allows its students to complete coursework according to their own availability each week, while also having weekly assignments and projects that help keep you accountable and on-track. It offers a great level of flexibility, but also provides structure at the same time which I really appreciate as a working professional. I also really enjoy being a part of the SheCodes community. With each course, you have the ability to interact with other students who are learning the same things as you and instructors who are there to help and answer questions along the way.

I never knew my MySpace days we were coding, using html & css to beautify our pages; I didnโt even know this was considered coding until 2019 when I seen it on TikTok! Iโm so proud of myself ๐ฅน! I was really glad that the lessons are in "bite sized" pieces because as a beginner there were lots of videos I had to rewatch to fully absorb the information. I really like that SheCodes Instructor Matt also shows you how to find other solutions and resources online.
I really enjoyed this course. I find there are a lot of courses or tutorials out there that say for complete beginners, but they are sometimes hard to follow. In part because some instructors assume you know the technical things they are doing (e.g., using keyboard shortcuts). I like the way Matt teaches subjects but I find he also teaches you how to think like a developer and learn how to find the resources that are needed to feel confident from the start.
I am very excited and incredibly proud of myself for completing the full SheCodes workshop. Few years ago I took courses on JavaScript but it didn't really click. It's when I started SheCodes workshops I was fascinated and eager to learn. I couldn't have imagined I would end up here, excited to learn and have fun coding. I had watched videos and tried coding courses but it did not work out well for me because it was poorly explained and extremely confusing. I have learned so much just from SheCodes basics workshop, that completing that final project felt like a huge accomplishment. The instructor Matt, has done an amazing job putting these lessons together.
This workshop was awesome and I highly recommend it. At first, I knew zilch about coding. The workshop was divided into short lessons which makes it easy to learn. This workshop is super interactive and the instructor explains everything in a really good way. It's very thorough and leaves you with a sturdy foundation to become a programmer. The lessons are short and precise, and there are exercises with every lesson (which makes it almost addictive - in a good way!). You will never get bored with this course.

SheCodes Foundation is indeed a place to be if you really want to develop or grow your career in the IT Industry. I started learning coding from the scratch and I can tell you that my 3weeks learning SheCodes Basics was really worth it, I enjoyed every bit of the training. In time past, I used to see coded languages as strange but now I've become familiar with them. I can now play around HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT with ease. The instructional videos with detailed explanations, challenges and homework made my learning easier and less stressful. The Slack platform gave me the opportunity to interact with my wonderful classmates from all over world regardless of our Race, Color, Nationality or Ethnicity. This workshop was both challenging and exciting. The times I came up with my own solutions to the bugs in my code really made me feel like a legit coder! All thanks to the tips Matt gives in every video. And when I couldn't figure them out, the instructors on slack were readily available to help. I may not feel like a pro, but I certainly don't feel like a beginner anymore either. Definitely worth it!

Great introduction to coding!! Matt is a great instructor, he teaches in a way that leaves you confident about the information you're learning. INSTANT switch from that "can I do this?" mindset to "I can TOTALLY do this!" It had it's moments but I loved the challenge and learning something new.
Matt is a very personable instructor with French flair who doesn't leave his students hanging. Each step is explained clearly and succinctly, and the challenge's solution revealed after your first attempt. Just follow instructions and code along. You can do it!
It's the first time that I use React and I have to admit that was really straightforward. The instructor explains the code and modules step by step. Very easy to understand and follow along! I have a limited background in programming but with Matt's help, was able to learn the basics of web design. He's a great instructor and besides his videos, he also offers resources for you to use on your own projects. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to get started in web design but has no idea where to start. All the students have access to a Slack as well where we can ask questions and receive help from the SheCodes staff or even each other. Learning something new doesn't feel so intimidating knowing that other students might be running into the same problems as you are. I just finished SheCodes Basics and can't wait to get started on SheCodes Plus!

I was a bit sceptical at first because I thought it would be something complex and difficult to understand, as I have been struggling to learn html and css. The workshop content is fun yet challenging! I definitely spent more time debugging my code than in Basics -- this gave me the opportunity to see where I was overcomplicating and where to simplify.
