This has been an incredible journey. I joined this course with a basic understanding of coding and within 6 weeks I am able to showcase a functioning weather application. With the help of SheCodes, I was able to gain hands-on-experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GitHub, Netlify, and a host of other coding resources that made this project possible. Though this course was nothing short of challenging, I find that at the end of it all these skills will be invaluable in my career development and next level choices. What an excellent accomplishment to begin 2021.
Being curious about the world of coding, I enrolled in the introductory course by SheCodes. The fun challenge led me to realize the intricate development of the 'web' as we know it and forced my mind to engage with technology in new ways as I developed skills.
I loved this course, I found the tutorial really easy to follow and the challenges just difficult enough for an absolute beginner. I feel like I have a good grip of the fundamentals and looking forward to learning more!
This is one of the best courses I've ever had. Getting into React already knowing JS, HTML and CSS was so much fun and a lot easier than I expected. SheCodes methodology is very efficient and smart. Being able to look at code and understand it is something I never thought I would be doing in my life. Can't wait to learn more out in the world!
It has been a great learning experience! Coding can be intimidating, but with SheCodes it was much easier to understand. It's fun to learn, Matt is a great, attentive instructor and the technical team (and the community, too) is always there to lend a hand. They have answers to all of your questions!
It's a very well crafted introductory course to web development. It keeps concepts functionally simple to understand & execute without complicating topics with theoretical details.
This course was so much fun! Matt does a fantastic job of explaining everything in each lesson. I love that sometimes there are things in the challenge that he didn't discuss, so that I can explore websites that will fill in any blanks.
As a UX Designer, having a basic understanding of HTML/CSS and javascript can make the hand-off of designs from designer to developer much smoother when we can speak the same language. This course has helped me understand how a developer might break down my designs and translate it into code as well as the functions of each element in the code.
SheCodes Plus course was challenging, but I learn a lot in a short time and had fun while doing that. The course is well structured and provides a good foundation for understanding how to code. I believe this is a big step in my transition to a career as a developer.
The SheCodes workshop was both fun and mentally stimulating. Each lesson is broken up into bite-sized pieces which makes it easy to fit into a busy schedule.
I'm having lots of fun remembering and learning to code. The lessons are super clear but with lots of information each to improve very fast you knowledge on coding. Literally your imagination is the limit! Can't wait for the Plus Workshop next week. :)

A really fun and educational workshop that's perfect for kickstarting your front-end coding journey. Matt explains everything thoroughly and down to "dummy level" which gives a great insight into why/how things work the way they do - something I've been missing with other coding teachers. Would highly recommend!
I enjoyed the SheCodes Workshop very much. The workshop pace is just right, and you can watch and rewatch the videos at your own time. Matt's videos and materials are very clear and I am able to follow and learn the basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript. These topics were initially rather daunting, but this workshop exceeded my expectations. The Challenges at the end of each lesson help reinforce the teachings and allow us to practise. The website and videos are nicely done, and the SheCodes Radio helped me focus during my Challenges and project. It was a lot of fun doing the course and the project. I really enjoyed SheCodes Plus. It was so much fun and satisfying for me to be able to built something from scratch and understand how it fully works! This is a really cool workshop that anyone can take since Matt does awesome job explaining the topics in a very objective and simple way. SheCodes Workshop totally exceeded all expectations of what I thought the course would be like, and what I would gain from doing it. The prospect of learning how to code (effectively from scratch!) was daunting at first, but the course format, structure of each lesson, set tasks/challenges and weekly homework projects made my coding journey not only fun and digestible, but also extremely rewarding. Being able to receive personal feedback as well as learn and take inspiration from other coders on the Slack channel was a real bonus, and it has been great to be part of the community! I'm really pleased with the knowledge and skills I've gained from doing the Workshop course, and can't wait to challenge myself further with SheCodes Plus/Plus React π.
Learning about vanilla JavaScript has finally demystified the "complexities". Before this course, I was very confused about how JavaScript worked. I knew that it is incredibly powerful and in fact powered most of the internet or websites. But I just didn't how it worked. This course gave me the wonderful gift of finally understanding and loving JavaScript and having a ton of fun with it. I finally understand that it is a language of functions and you create those functions to bring features to life. And incredibly so, learning JavaScript empowers you in understand other languages as well. It's truly incredible. Once again thank you to the whole SheCodes Team and Matt for this wonderful journey and all their support. I was terrible at programming in high school, so I didn't have much confidence in myself to do well at this course. The videos and challenges were well-structured and easy to follow, and I'm surprised both at how much I learned and how well I ultimately did. The course was a lot more satisfying and fun than expected, and I'm glad I did it!
Shecodes was fun and great for beginners! I love that its designed for women to help empower us in the coding career field! I can't wait to take the next steps with shecodes plus. Highly recommend for any woman looking to enhance their skill set.

I'm so grateful for this course. It wasn't always easy but the challenge is half the game. Trying to find the right answers in the previous lessons, the world wide web, and if all fails then dear JoΓ£o is there to set your code straight. In coding, the devil really is in the detail. One little single quote missing and the entire function, possibly several, will be affected. I love coding!

It is a great course. I don't work or want to work in this area, but I felt that the basic knowledge was important. In the end, I have learned more than I was expecting and had a lot of fun in the process.

I am glad that I decided to take this workshop. It's really cool how easy and fun the learning process was. But at the same time, we had complicated homework and projects. I only took three week's workshop, but it gave me an understanding of Front-End Development.
This is a fantastic course for anyone wanting to learn to code, even if you are a complete beginner like myself! The course context is well presented and broken down in small bite-size chunks. The challenges and weekly homework tasks are not only one of the best ways to test what you have learnt but also make learning to code fun and interactive. Definitely, would recommend SheCodes. Learning React with SheCodes was a great time. The lessons were short, focused around a specific topic and easy to follow. Thanks to that, there's no way to feel overwhelmed or bored. The challenges were stimulating and fun to do. It was so satisfying to observe my app evolving with the skills gained throughout the course. I feel like my code is now looking much neater than in vanilla project. Starting my coding adventure, I was pretty scared that all of this will be too hard for me to understand. I'm glad that I overcame this feeling and realised that it isn't necessary to have a tech background to complete SheCodes workshop triad. I highly recommend it to everyone interested in frontend.
Through SheCodesPlus, I got to learn how to incorporate real time information into my website. It is both fun and challenging at the same time but having someone to ask in Slack made my learning process went smoothly. This workshop was super fun and even though it was challenging because of all the new concepts, the community is always there to help you. I've done a bunch of online courses and I must say that the SheCodes community is the one that has engaged the most. You'll always find a solution to any question you ask. At first, I was a little embarrassed because I asked a lot of questions and had a lot of bugs in my code, but they truly are super sweet and always willing to answer to any of your doubts, no matter how much you've asked; and to me, that has made a huge difference because it has avoided all the feelings of frustration that you might get when you just can't find what you are doing wrong. So yeah, 5 stars to these awesome community!
SheCodes is absolutely a fantastic beginner friendly web-development class anyone can learn. I certainly recommend this workshop for anyone who interested in challenging and exploring new creativity crafts/ anyone in transition of a new career. By the way, Matt crafted the courses in a way that was effortless and uncomplicated for anyone to understand what they are learning. The courses are easy to comprehend and follow whilst being fun. SO MANY FEELINGS: so happy because it was a super fun journey through all these courses, but sad because it is over :) :( . This one was a real challenge, but as always Matt was able to explain and demonstrate everything perfectly. I am very happy that I had discovered SheCodes in this last summer, and I cannot be more thankfull to Matt and the whole team for having created and maintained this academy. Never in my life I would though to become passionate about frontend development. In my few years of experience, I always loved the backend component, and hated the frontend. Never understood CSS or HTML, and was scare to engage in the React thing. But after this experience I learned A LOT and actually have decided to try to change my career to be more frontend"ish" . I truly and deeply advise every women who wants to improve their frontend technicall skills to enjoy this amazing journey. Be safe!

I am currently working in the Sales Department at a Tech company and I signed up for SheCodes as a way to up-skill and broaden my technical knowledge. I started as a beginner since all the knowledge that I had was based on my MySpace HTML time, from about 15 years ago π The workshop is easy to follow and the challenges and homework fun to solve. SheCodes comes with a great community of other women interested in coding that you can connect and interact with via Slack π©πΌβπ»π©π½βπ»π©πΏβπ»and support is always available too! The past 3 weeks have been so insightful and I am looking forward to SheCodes Plus!
Thank you for this wonderful workshop on Front-End Development. It is very straight-forward and geared at teaching you how to build a functioning weather-app in no time. Additionally, every student learns how to create a project on GitHub and connect it to Netlify and use APIs for a web-app. I will admit that there will be tough learning curves. However, there is a wonderful Slack-Community where we help each other out. If you don't have too much coding knowledge, I would highly recommend this.
It was great being able to see the fun things you can create in such a short period of time. The lessons were fun, clear and at a good pace. The challenges after the lessons really helped with actually understanding the materials and figuring out how to apply all of the information. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience with SheCodes. Working in the IT industry for a little over two years, I grew interested in learning about the fundamentals of web development; plus, I wanted to expand my skillsets and knowledge outside of my profession. SheCodes gave me a foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavasScript that I know will benefit my career development and growth. The tutorials were helpful, and the homework did a great job at encompassing what we learned for each week. All in all, it was a wonderful journey!
It was a lot of fun building the weather application with live data, a very good way to learn how javascript works. I'm excited to continue learning React to become a better coder! Would definitely recommend the plus course if you want to dig in with javascript!
SheCodes program is very easy to follow and teaches you the fundamentals to help you learn how to code by a quick lesson and a challenge to ensure you can apply the knowledge. Challenging but fun! Though it's online learning, I always managed to get the help I needed if I was stuck on something. I never thought I would be able to create my own weather app! This experience has been incredible! This was my first time ever learning to code and I loved it! It's so fun creating from nothing and trying to find mistakes and their solutions. The only thing I would change would be to make the workshop more demanding.

SheCodes Plus was a real challenge for me after completing the SheCodes intro workshop (no surprise there, we did dive into Javascript functions! π€―). As someone who has never written a line of code before taking these SheCodes workshops, I am proud of myself for finishing this course with a functional project to show for it.β£ β£ What I liked most about SheCodes is that it allowed me to move at my own pace. I hit some road blocks, not fully understanding certain concepts as they got more advanced and wishing I had more time to process the information. The team at SheCodes was gracious about deadlines, giving me the time I needed to complete my work, and whenever I got stuck, I was able to post in the Slack channel for help. β£ The moment when things started to click for me while working on my project, I felt so empowered and capable. I'm inspired to continue learning and to see where this road may lead me!
