Building my weather app was both a challenging and rewarding experience. At first, I felt overwhelmed by all the moving partsβintegrating the API, displaying accurate forecasts, and making sure the icons and temperatures worked perfectly. There were moments when I doubted myself, especially when things didnβt display as expected. But through persistence, problem-solving, and a lot of trial and error, I slowly started to piece everything together. Debugging each issue, step by step, helped me grow more confident in my skills. I learned the importance of patience and seeking out solutions, no matter how tricky the problem seemed. By the end of the process, I not only had a functional weather app, but I also felt a real sense of accomplishment. It reminded me that challenges are just opportunities for growth, and with determination, thereβs nothing I canβt conquer. I'd like to thank Matt and the team, y'all are amazing. Starting this bootcamp was interesting because a lot of what Matt dives in to is great fundamentals in learning the beginner steps of becoming a web developer. By integrating the Moment.js and Moment Timezone libraries, I mastered the manipulation of dates and times across various time zones. This not only enriched my JavaScript skills but also helped me understand the complexities involved in handling date and time data. I also explored the Geolocation API, which taught me how to access and use the user's location in real-time. This feature was particularly exciting, as it added a personalized touch to the application, allowing users to see the current time in their own location. It deepened my understanding of how web applications can provide tailored experiences based on user data. Through this project, I honed my skills in creating dynamic user interfaces. From someone who had no clue about coding, let alone that I wasn't even interested until I came SheCodes on TikTok and I watched a video from Matt. How amazing is Matt and the entire team???!!! I love how everything (videos from Matt) gets broken down nicely and the team is always ready and available to help. With SheCodes Plus, I had a lot going on in my private life that I didn't get to commit to the deadlines. But I am grateful for the extensions that I was granted. As a SheCodes student, completing the SheCodes Plus program has been a transformative experience. I've gained invaluable skills in web development, including how to seamlessly inject HTML into JavaScript, work with APIs, and integrate various functionalities into projects. The hands-on learning approach allowed me to create a fully functional weather forecast website from scratch, where I applied my newfound knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, and responsive design to build a user-friendly and visually appealing platform. This experience has not only boosted my coding confidence but also equipped me with the practical skills to bring real-world projects to life.
This was a fun add-on to the basic workshop. By the end of it, you start to get a solid understanding of some more advanced (but still basic) CSS, HTML and JS. I enjoyed the follow-along approach to completing the project, which broke it down into smaller chunks of building the end product and really helped cement the learning outcomes.

This course was incredible. I never would have ever believed I could have so much fun doing something like coding, but I loved every minute of it! Shecodes Plus was very challenging and a very fun way to learn new skills. I really enjoyed creating My Ouranos App, deepen my knowledge in JavaScript, CSS and HTML the result of app at the end was impressive. The tasks and the challenges were helpful to understand what I learned. SheCodes has given me more confidence to continue learning code and I really enjoying doing that.

In the beginning, learning React was quite challenging, especially when creating different components and functions to make everything work. However, I really appreciate how Matt was able to explain everything and made each lesson and challenges more manageable. Overall, it was a fun experience and I'm very proud of myself for being able to build a weather application using React!

Completing the SheCodes Plus curriculum was an incredible learning experience for me. Throughout the course, I not only deepened my understanding of JavaScript and React, but I also had the opportunity to create a fully functional Weather App. This project challenged me to apply my skills in API integration, state management, and responsive design, all within the React framework. Seeing my Weather App come to life and being able to dynamically fetch and display weather data in real-time was such a rewarding accomplishment. The SheCodes program provided me with the guidance and support I needed to elevate my coding skills, and I now feel more confident in my journey as a developer.

Building the weather app was alot of fun, it was a great way to cement everything I'd been taught in the previous weeks and see how it all worked together! Working with the animated weather icons for the forecast and current temperature was my favourite part!
This project has been so much fun to work on. I'm pleased that I have made a website to showcase all I've learnt from SheCodes so far to a future employer, and one that I can continue to build on and add to as I continue to learn more coding skills.

The SheCodes Basics Add-on took my coding journey to the next level! I had the chance to work on a fun and interactive project showcasing the beauty of Mossel Bay, and the best part was implementing features that I never thought I could handle. One of the coolest experiences was the button that changes the theme of the page. It made coding feel practical, creative, and exciting! This project really solidified my understanding of CSS and JavaScript and brought my web page to life.
This was so much fun and has really made me excited to continue to learn more about coding. I have already recommended this to a few of my friends as it is a great hobby.

What a fun project! Creating a travel site using only HTML and CSS, while still making it responsive may not have been easy, but was a wonderful experience. I have learned to master HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, as well as key tools such as VSCode, Git, GitHub and how to host projects on the web. At first, JavaScript seemed like an alien language to me, but thanks to clear explanations and practical projects, I can now understand and apply key concepts like APIs and Git. What has impacted me the most has been discovering the potential of advanced JavaScript, which has allowed me to create more sophisticated and functional interactions.
Like always, SheCodes workshops strike the perfect balance between challenge and learning. The projects are always very fun to work on, and with the lessons of Matt, every step feels achievable and rewarding.
All I can say is these workshops are the best, I've learned a lot the courses were absolutely useful. I fell in love with how fun every workshop here is.
I found the videos clear and easy to follow. I felt the design of the lessons was great for teaching you each piece, but also starting over to really solidify how all the pieces fit together. If you get stuck or are just looking to clarify anything, asking a question in Slack is easy and the responses are timely. The Weather App project was fun and depending on your comfort level, you are given the choice to simply show the current weather or make it more complex by also showing the forecast.
This AI workshop was very interesting and fun to learn! The power of AI APIs, JS, CSS and HTML all together is incredible. Building the poem generator and actually seeing the outcome of a poem be produced was very impressive! I definitely recommend this workshop! On to the next one :D
It was fun to learn even more cool properties of HTML, CSS and JS. Even though short, the course helped me to understand the flaws of my previous project, and taught me how to correct those and how to improve my code.
Learning about AI was very interesting and fun! As someone who never used AI before I was very impressed about the possibilities this new world brings.

SheCodes is the best It was still challenging first but then it became more fun. I am also much better at problem-solving when my code doesn't work.
Even though I could somewhat interpret basic code before, this course gave me a much deeper understanding of the ins and outs of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Inspecting an HTML page feels now much more approachable and clearer because I understand how everything works together. I really enjoyed playing around with the code, especially in the final project, where I had the freedom to create a page from scratchβit was both fun and rewarding!
