Hello. I'm Fernanda, from Brazil. I'm a journalist very interested in coding. I've learned a bit during my masters in New Media and Web Practices, but need to deepen my knowledge. Taking part in SheCodes Lisbon was a step further into coding, and I definitely recommend more women to do the same.
What a life changing moment! This course was a great learning experience: I had never code before and it is amazing to check what I was able to create, after only 2 days of workshop. The content is well chosen and taught, you are supported and you can really see the improvements from exercise to exercise. This is an awesome begin to coding!
It was very good to synthesize my self-taught coding knowledge and to learn more.
When I started this workshop I didn't know anything about code. Matt managed to explain everything in a very approachable, sucint and humored way. The fact that we made many exercises helped me a lot to apply the knowledge recently acquired. After this wonderful weekend I understand a lot better what coding means and its huge power and possibilities if we pursue this career in the future. It definitely gave me the boost I needed and the will to keep learning HTML, CSS and Javascript! I have learned a lot and it is much easier to learn than online. It was a fun weekend, full of new information. I think SheCodes is a great ideia and I hope they continue this project with more and more successful ideas.
SheCodes is an intense learning experience combined with a relaxed environment. I believe it was the perfect way to start the code learning path. Thanks to the SheCodes team, at the end of the weekend, I was able to develop an interactive landing page, to understand what are the different coding languages, to gain some sector-specific insights and, finally, to know what are the potential next steps in the coding journey.

This highly intense weekend was also a tremendously fun way to learn the basics of coding. Besides being a very in-demand skill, knowing how to code is becoming more and more important for understanding the world around us. The SheCodes workshop gives a wide perspective of what we can do with code and what it can do for us, which makes it an amazing learning experience for a beginner. SheCodes is a great way to start coding! This weekend was very productive. Matt is a very dynamic teacher and kept us always focused on the goal: learn as much as possible during an intensive 12 hour-period. We have learn the basics from JavaScript, HTML and CSS and have been asked to create a landing page from the scratch about something that we love. Such a great way to test ourselves!

This workshop allowed me to finally get in the world of coding, what seemed so out of reach, doesn't feel so difficult anymore. It gives you the tools to create a base and understand how coding structure works, from there, continue learning seems easy enough, and having in account coding it's a current and future language, now seems like a good time to start learning it.
This course was extremely complete, straight to the point and accurate so it provided a great amount of quality coding knowledge and valuable resources. Also it sets a change of mind regarding the technology world and shows us how to improve our career and how to enhance these skills to succeed.
SheCodes provided a great, easy but comprehensive, introduction into web development and several different programming languages. The lessons were very well-planned, in a way that was inclusive to people from different backgrounds and with varying levels of expertise. It was also interesting to hear a testimonial from a woman in the field and get personal insights from someone in web development. I highly recommend SheCodes for women looking for an intro to coding!

The workshop was very cool. Not only you learn how to code in three different languages, but you also learn the appropriate terminology, a little bit of the history behind coding, resources coders use, and how it is to work in the world of code. Also, Matt is a good lecturer - he's honest, funny, knows what to say in order for you to understand what you are doing and puts up exercises for you to practice what you learned. I definitely recommend it!
SheCodes proofed me it is possible to start coding without going back to university. In a very intense 2-days-course people are able to develop competences of basic web development. It gave me confidence to continue learning by myself and I believe that this will be enriching for my career.

SheCodes Workshop was the necessary nudge for me to finally dive into the world of code. Something that seemed so foreign and out of reach quickly became palpable. The structure of the workshop is exercise based and you will feel both the challenge and the achievment that coding entails.

Although it was two intense days and sometimes thought what I was doing there, I learned new tools that I believe that they are a plus for my future. I wasn't aware that it was possible to learn so much in such a short time! Everything was really well-organized - from the way the sessions were structured to the relaxing breaks. It was really fast paced and intense, but that is why it was so good. Matt is definitely a great teacher! He speaks in a way that really motivates the audience and makes you want to learn more. SheCodes was an amazing experience! This is a great workshop for people that have zero or few experience at Coding. At first was a bit scary because I didn't know anything about this area but at the end of the course I was able to really understand the principles of Coding and the different tools that we can use.
The course was really intensive in these 12 hours we had over the weekend. We were coding, coding... And coding all the time. Matt is a great instructor and he answers all the questions you have. First you learn about HTML and CSS, following by JavaScript. I always wanted to learn more about JavaScript, because it's one of the most popular programming languages. I also wanna thank all the others who were helping Matt at SheCodes 20.0!

The SheCodes workshop was an excellent opportunity and challenge that allowed me to develop new skills and knowledge to become a more rounded professional. As an IT Recruiter I can now understand better the motivations of each person I interview and this allows me to become more precise in presenting the projects that fit within each person expectations. Personally, I was always interested in programming and this weekend gave me the opportunity to understand if this was a propective career path to take. It is one thing to learn coding at home and another to walk down the road alongside many other like-minded people. It was educational and, most importantly, a fun experience. Is isn't easy for first timers, however, but will serve to gauge of our interest to further pursue coding. In my case, it was a resounding "yes!". Highly recommended for all who are curious about programming or wish to partake in a field in great demand.
I had a great experience and learned a lot about the 3 programming languages though. I do advise every girl to take the course because it's really helpful. At least for me it was, now I understand the "programming" conversations around me at work and am able to participate in a constructive way in those conversations.

I did not know anything about coding before participating in SheCodes workshop and in only two days I was able to understand the basics as well as the logic behind html, css and java script. Two days that passed really fast. We had an introduction to HTML, CSS and javascript that allowed us to understand how they work and how they are integrated with each other. As a software tester, I saw some improvements in my day-to-day work. I must recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to start programming.
My decision to sign up for this course was 100% right. I wanted to try if coding was a good option for me, and it definitely helped me a lot since I’ve been able to get to know how simple and fun coding can be. Matt was great, the workshop is very intense, and it helped to figure it out what kind of developers we want to become.

A very intensive weekend, very fast paced and very productive. Matt has an incredible ability to simplify the coding world by introducing us smoothly to it. Starting from understanding the frontend/backend differences, listing the several existing coding languages, to developing HTML, CSS and Javascript. I arrived to the workshop, from a working week, with lots of doubts on wether I would be able to understand anything. Guess what?!
