My best friend had recently begun to learn coding and I was excited for her but also not super familiar with what that meant as a career path. I happened across the free coding class from SheCodes and I was intrigued, if only to get a better understanding of what my friend is learning. The class really opened my eyes to what learning coding can do for a career pivot, especially for women. I decided to try the SheCodes basics course and I'm so excited to learn more! This platform really takes away the intimidation factor that I think scares away a lot of people. I have never considered myself a math or tech savvy person. This course has helped me focus on digesting the concepts, rather than getting caught up in self-conscious anxiety about whether I have enough technical understanding to do this. I also love that this course includes lots of challenges and projects that get the learner actively using the skills that are being taught. I also love that there is reliable online support to turn to when you get stuck and need help! This course has been so amazing and I love telling my other female friends about it in case they want to try it.
It is becoming easier to create amazing things on the internet. I am so glad I signed up for these classes.

I enjoyed learning with SheCodes and how each lesson allowed me to immediately apply what I learned. While the lessons were easy to follow, there was a lot of information that provided me many tools to ultimately develop and customize my own website.
Fantastic experience with SheCodes! I didn't have a codding experience, but only in three weeks I have gained so much knowledge and built my first landing page from scratch. All tutorials and instructions are easy to follow. Highly recommend to everyone!

I started this basic workshop to see if coding was something I could do (I'm a Chemistry major and have no knowledge of coding or programming, and I was looking for something to fill my time that was not related to my current job). All I can say is that I am hooked and look forward to the next workshop! After just two weeks I am able to create a simple webpage and I find that pretty impressive and rewarding. I don't know if I will pursue a coding career yet...for now, I am enjoying the workshops :)

When I was in high school (twenty years ago!), I took a couple web development classes and would spend hours after school creating web pages and graphics. I knew I loved creating things for the web, but always did it on the side as more of a hobby since my career was in education. I had been wanting to brush up on my skills for a while, and knew there were a bunch of workshops out there. I picked SheCodes because of the way Matt emphasized that this should be fun...and it was! I've loved seeing how front end development has changed since I first learned and also learning new tools like Visual Studio Code. Thank you for helping me re-learn how to build fun things!
This was a great introduction to coding! I learned so much in 3 weeks. The classes were very organized and easy to follow. Matt does a great job explaining the process and the reasoning behind everything we learned.

It has been such an amazing coding journey so far. I can not believe that I have built a working weather app using real weather data thanks to the fantastic pedagogically excellent knowledge transfer by Matt. This workshop enabled me to see the strong features of JavaScript and opened my eyes to see the many possibilities that it offers in building apps. It is so fun having been exposed to the various challenges provided in this workshop.
I found out that you can learn to code regardless of your background by going to SheCodes for me, which is an amazing online resource. In the course of my journey, I found a new passion, new ways of learning and practicing content. One of the most rewarding experiences was learning with other women. Being able to see so many women who are passionate about the tech industry made me really proud. SheCodes deserves credit for making a difference, supporting minorities, and for having the idea to create workshops for women to up-skill in tech.

I enjoyed SheCodes SO much, much more than I thought I would. I heard so many great things and I found it so fun, the challenges were engaging, and I appreciated all the help they give. They offer many resources and coming from a beginner level, I never once felt like I had to give up. Frustrated? Of course! That's all part of being new at something. But the community was stellar, and Matts videos were super helpful.
This has been an uneasy but gratifying path. I have certainly learned a lot and become much better-organised with my code. Most importantly, I have widened my coding knowledge base to the extent that I never thought I would. This course has been wonderful! It was so clear and every question I had was answered in great detail. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who's interested in learning to code. If you're a little apprehensive, not to worry! This course is not pressured in the slightest, it give you plenty of flexibility and help if you need it.
That was an incredible experience for me. I'm very happy that women are becoming more and more visible in this field, where gender discrimination is most prevalent. I want to thank the SheCodes team and especially Matt Delac, who made me love programming. It was a very well-organized and fun learning process. I really loved participating in the workshop. It's easy to follow along and divided into good portions, so you don't get too overwhelmed with the input you're getting. The homework at the end of each week are really quite challenging, but definitely fun to do some research on your own and come up with solutions. I really liked building my own landing page in the end and am quite proud of what I've learned so far. Can't wait to learn more about coding.
Prior to SheCodes, I had no core experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The way Matt has structured the course, assignments, and projects has been thoroughly enjoyable. It was an incredible learning experience. Good content and good workload for those like me who have to reconcile with their professional life.
At times challenging, depending on how good you are at logical thinking, it was definitely a new way of having to think for me. But I'm overall happy with my project, and all the deadlines really helped as well.
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to try their hand at coding. It's a lot of fun to be able to build something from scratch and immediately see the result. Matt explains what he's doing step by step and if you ever get stuck while you're coding you can just hop on to the Slack platform and ask for help. I'm excited to learn more!

I love puzzles and I genuinely love learning so when I found out about SheCodes, I had to sign up! I material is not easy but Matt does a great job of breaking it into smaller parts & challenges so that you can really take it one step at a time. I am enjoying this process so much!
