I had zero experience coding but the Basics workshop was a great way to begin learning and to try out whether or not coding would be something to continue learning. The lessons are broken down in a way that makes it easy to follow along and if you get stuck you have resources to help you out as you learn.
I've just finished SheCodes Basics and have learned so much in a short amount of time. Matt is a great teacher and does a good job at simplifying the more complex topics. I'm in a computer programming certificate program at a local university, but feel that I've learned more in just three weeks participating in SheCodes than I have in most of my university courses so far. With the SheCodes workshops, I truly believe ANYONE can not only learn to code, but can excel in the CS field.

This workshop was great because it taught so many concrete, real-world job hunting and networking skills that you are generally left to figure out on your own in life!
It's been a wonderful and challenging journey for which I am very grateful to SheCodes Team. React can be tough at first, but practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good.
This is my fourth SheCodes workshop, and my learning curve has been incredibly steep. I started out with zero knowledge, and SheCodes has given me tons of knowledge and more confidence. SheCodes has given me the confidence to play with code and explore existing libraries and frameworks. The React workshop was terrific; it tied together everything I've learned and pushed me to challenge myself. The instructor is incredibly resourceful and talented and explains things in a simple-to-understand and unique way. The Slack team is ready to answer any question 24/7, and there is a massive community of women with the same goals and ambitions. I cannot recommend these workshops enough!
I really loved the SheCodes experience! Matt and his team did a great job breaking down the lessons and providing support. I'm looking forward to better supporting my team with my new skills!

I had such a great time with SheCodes Basics! I am a complete beginner to coding but I felt the videos easy to follow and the challenges were just the right amount of difficulty to challenge me, but not make it feel impossible. I certainly got stuck a time or two, but after going back and reviewing old videos or checking out Slack, I was able to sort out my mistakes. I can't wait to do another workshop!
Its cool to see results of work despite its only an introduction :) The learning was easy and I like the practical approach of teaching. I really enjoy the course and exited to join next workshop.

When I first started my journey, I was intimidated and overwhelmed by the vast amount of information and complex concepts that I needed to learn. I remember the feeling of accomplishment I had when I wrote my first few lines of code, and I still get that same rush of excitement every time I create something new. Learning how to code has been incredible. I would highly recommend anyone who is even remotely interested in coding to give it a try !

It was 11 years ago that I touched code and it is my passion now as much as it was before, I decided to retake that path and this course was a great way to start.
I liked that in this course there is an opportunity to use new SheCodes Weather API. It is quite easy to create a project by following the lesson. In the future, you will understand which area should be studied more deeply. Thanks to the team for their support, they are always ready to help!
Shecodes have motivated me naturally to complete my very first project from start to end! Usually online learning is difficult to complete due to limited self-discipline, and lack of motivation. However, the pace that the lecture is taught at, and the hands-on method works well for me. I really enjoyed the homework and the challenges.

I was hesitant to try a coding workshop, but I am so happy that I did! The entire format makes the content easily digestible as well as enjoyable. I highly recommend it for anyone on the fence about coding.
I would highly recommend SheCodes to anybody who would like to learn how to code, especially if you don't have any previous experience(s) with coding! I studied something completely different in Uni, but wanted to be able to transfer the passion that I have for creativity in my free time (in the future) into my 9-5 as well. I also wanted something that would continue to challenge my brain on a daily basis. After some internet searches I came across SheCodes and decided to take the free intro-to-coding class from Matt. I was hesitant at first since I had no prior experience to coding, but as soon as Matt said that you don't need prior experience and that anyone can learn how to code, I decided that it was worth giving it a try. It did not disappoint! I'm so happy that I followed the Basics course; I learned so much in 3 weeks and Matt's explanation videos were pretty easy to follow and also very helpful. At times it can get a bit frustrating when there are mistakes in your code that you're struggling to find and correct, but fear not! By retracing your steps or asking for help on Slack you will eventually figure it out and it will all be worth it! I'm exited to continue learning and can't wait to sign up for SheCodes Plus. 10/10
In the beginning, I thought, how would I understand anything by just doing? But I soon realised that it is very helpful to do, try, search and ask if you don't understand what's wrong with your code. Once you understand the basics, you know you can do it! (Of course, with lots more practice :)) I will do a more advanced workshop after this one. Thank you, Danielle
Great course for beginners. I knew nothing about coding before the course, and still managed to understand every lesson with ease. At the end of the 3 weeks, I was already able to build a fairly detailed page from scratch! Highly recommend.

I loved learning at SheCodes, the course was challenging at first but overtime it got very interesting. In a short span of time, I gained significant knowledge and skills that have equipped me to tackle real-world coding challenges. The course was intense, but it was well worth the effort.

This was one of the best investements I have made for myself! Super proud of everything I have learned, it was really eye-opening to see for myself how all web pages are built, I mean we use them everyday so I enjoyed building some! The course is written in an easy to follow order, very understandable especially for a complete beginner like me, it's very easy to jump from a lesson to another and feel like you are learning so much. I loved having a community of individuals who are starting on the same path and I loved having the support from the team, it helped massively when I didn't know something or I was stuck! Will defintely sign up for the next one, as soon as I will be able to afford it!

This Basic Cource is really effective and joyfull. You can feel that each challange was carefully thought-out and you can improve your skills step by step, it's really important when there is so much information but you don't get it chaotically.
The course is okay and the lessons are divided into good small and understandable portions. However, I find the price for the continuing courses too high for me to continue. There are equivalent courses at Udemy for much less money. I also find the design of the pages not particularly professional or modern, which is why I can unfortunately only give 3 stars. However, the time pressure helps a lot to finish the course within the given time.

I tried out SheCodes because I wanted to get a taste for the subject of coding and see if I liked it without spending big amounts of money to go to a university. Matt does a great job of making the lessons understandable while still providing little challenges that push you to explore further and keep you engaged in the material. The Plus level is already quite demanding and allows us to make a "smarter" app. The explanations were good and the assistance through Slack really helped troubleshoot some doubts regarding the SheCodes Weather API.
I honestly didn't believe I could make it to the end of this course because React is not as easy as it has been so far. But once again Matt proved that anyone can do it! Throughout the course I felt that I was accompanied and that little by little I got there! and guess what? I got it!

I extended my knowledge of HTML/CSS and Bootstrap. Following that I learned how to call APIs and update my webpage automatically using JavaScript. It was convenient to be able to track my changes using GitHub and deploy my project using Netlify.

Challenging but good
The SheCodes Basics Workshop exceeded all of my expectations. It was straightforward and easy to follow which made it a lot more enjoyable when learning. I had no previous knowledge or experience before starting the workshop but it gave me the confidence to pursue coding further. The challenges and weekly homework helped to cement what I had learned throughout the week which really paid off when doing my final project. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to start coding but doesn't know where to start!
I've gone from being terrified of and intimidated by code to being excited by its possibilities and my own potential. I cannot recommend SheCodes enough! Not only for teaching me the basics of coding but also for the work they do in the SheCodes foundation.
