Having heard from my friend that coding is very difficult to learn I lost all interest in it. As a beginner in coding, I feel that this basics course is the best course with step by step exercises and challenges. This course produces real learning about coding. By following the course, I was able to learn and got some insights about coding. And also, Matt Delac, is an excellent instructor who teaches very detailed in a clear way. At first I had trouble with HTML and being able to remember the codes and how to place them correctly in CSS, but with the help of Matt I was able to understand how to place my code correctly. Not forgetting the slack app he recommended for us to use, it came in very handy when I had challenges especially with my final project.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this course thus far! Matt has made the lessons so simple and fun to follow and I'm so surprised how much I've learnt in such little time. It's been so helpful being able to learn hands-on. I am so excited to learn more as I progress further!
Matt makes learning to code so much easier with his 'back to basics' explanation. I was a complete beginner to coding when starting this course. I have now just created my first landing page using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This is something I wouldnt have thought would be possible 2 weeks ago!

I have enjoyed every second of the SheCodes workshop! The video tutorials are so great, Matt does an excellent job of breaking everything down into easy understandable sections that make following along and learning how to code a piece of cake. Before SheCodes I used several free online websites to learn HTML, CSS and javascript, and I have to say I am very impressed with SheCodes. Matt has a very clear way of teaching and also stimulates his students to search online for solutions to their coding problems, which is a very realistic way to enter the programming world and learn how to be independent while coding. With SheCodes Basics, I have discovered a new set of useful tools (e.g. info for CSS color palettes and gradients) that I had never encountered on free online websites. I am looking forward to the next workshops.
I can't thank Matt and the SheCodes team enough for sparking my interest in coding! The SheCodes Basics course makes you want to learn even more! Would highly recommend it to those of varying interest in coding.

I started the coding workshop with no coding experience. At the beginning, it felt a bit overwhelming but having Matt as a teacher was really amazing. He always motivated us to try our best and simplified the coding languages for us. I love challenging myself and this was a good way of doing so while gaining a new skill set.

Some people discover their dream when they are 5 years, others at 38 years. I am among the latter. I set out to study how to code but every single opportunity I came across was either limited to people who had an undergraduate degree in IT or women below 35 years. And they all required paying and getting enrolled in school for up to 3 years. It broke my heart but I never gave up trying to find that once in a life time opportunity to live my dream. And then one day, I typed "free training for women" into google search and "SheCodes Foundation" popped onto the screen. My life has been impacted forever. I started out nervous, that I would not be able to cope with the lessons.....I was pleasantly suprised! Matt set out the lessons in baby-steps that were easy to follow and understand.(Thanx Matt, You truly are a blessing!) I look forward to learning more and becoming a world class coder.

Growing up, I was always curious about how things were made and what made them run. When I discovered the internet, i wanted to know how it operate, i started learning how to operate computer but what will actually give me what i wanted to learn were very expensive. so i couldn't afford the classes. Again, Coding was seen as men's job in my community which everyone discouraged me but the zeal was still there. Years later, I stumble upon the SheCodes Workshop which offered me a chance to go back to my passion. This programm has given me skills such as a sense of community and focusing on what i love to do. And guess what? the workshop was offered to me for free. It was actually challenging with limited resources to buy date, however, my goal to continue learning and to complete the Workshop successfully kept me moving. SheCodes program has given me the confidence to continue learning. To every woman interested in pursuing a career in Coding, i urge them to take a leap, discover their potentials, and give their best. Its okay to fail, but its okay to stay down. I also advice anyone currently in the program to trust the process, stay motivated, and work with Matt and his team. It is a continues learning experience, and every day provides an opportunity to grow and discover new ways to make systems work better. I'm glade i mate Matt and his team. You guys are awesome. I really enjoyed the lesson structure when doing the SheCodes Basic workshop. Matt is able to incorporate step by step learnings and follow it up with application that helps the learner understand concepts right after. Since late 2022 I thought about doing a career change, and Coding was at the top of my interests. A SheCodes Ad came up on my Facebook feed, and I took it as a sign. I registered for the Free SheCodes Class and it convinced me to try it!. I am happy I signed up for the Basics Workshop because it has thought me so much in such little time! Matt did it again! Not only was it fun but I don't think. I have learned as much with any other program I've taken as I have with SheCodes! Not going to lie... it was challenging, sometimes I had to put my code to rest and go for a run but once I came back my passion for coding was there! I have built a website that I will make sure I work on until I make it what I want it to be. I would say if you really want to learn how to code.. . SheCodes is the way to start.

I have some issues focusing so this workshop might not be the best for me as Matt tends to make "mistakes" and change his mind quite often and since the videos are not edited (or not much), it can sometimes get really confusing and frustrating. It's good to see that even an experienced coder like Matt has to think and sometimes just do different things before getting it right, but when he summarizes everything, he can be quite messy using the wrong terms, when it's already a really complex and confusing matter. Apart from that, I still like how Matt is funny and engaging, how he guides you to complete the final project, the course is packed with info and the project is quite fun.
