The Basics course was absolutely amazing. Matt explains everything in a clear and comprehensible way even for absolute beginners. I was hesitating if learning this quick was indeed possible, but my progress in the past week has been more than what I hoped for. The team on Slack as well as other women in the course are super helpful and that matters too, especially if you learn from scratch like me. Really well done!

The SheCodes Basic course has been an absolute joy to part take in. If you are wondering if you can learn to code around a busy schedule such as juggling a full-time job and attending children's school and sport activities, the answer is YES, you can! Lessons are divided into bite-size pieces. The instructor's micro-learning structure enables students to learn a little at a time and at their own pace. Lessons include tutorial videos and support along the way. When I began my course a couple of weeks ago, I was uncertain if I could really be successful. I am so grateful I stretched my comfort zone and gave it a try! It was so rewarding to see my finished product. Even better, was the look on my children's faces when they saw what I was able to accomplish in a short timeframe! SheCodes Plus is very challenging I must attest but it is best to follow and code along from Week 7 - Week 8 because if you just watch and decide to code it later, you will not know where to start. This experience has been one of the most challenging, interesting, and mentally training I have ever had. These lessons have been more helpful than 2 years of college. Matt helped me to understand the bases of coding and to learn why and what I'm doing anytime. The fact that, in every lesson, you could practice whatever you were learning was helpful as well as seeing the different uses of that code. I really enjoyed the Basic SheCodes Workshop. It taught me a lot of concepts and the challenges were a really great way to build confidence. The one thing that really stood out for me was how compact yet sufficient the material was for the workshop. Creating a functional weather app was very challenging at times yet Matt made it as easy to understand as possible. I'm honestly in awe at how much i've learnt and what I've been able to do in such little time. 100% recommend!
This was my fifth workshop from SheCodes and I loved it. Finally I liked one of my designs although it was really simply and experimental. As someone who had absolutely no prior IT experience, the course was not as tough as I thought. Our instructor, Matt thoroughly explained each and every step which made it so much easier for me. Imagine, within 8 weeks, you can learn how to code your very own weather application? With SheCodes, I was able to do so! All the topics were covered. I've loved learning again at my age, it's been fascinating working behind the scenes after being a graphic designer since the late 80s. I am super impressed with the set up of SheCodes and the very clear way in which the fantastic tutor, Matt, is able to explain the most seemingly confusing new language of numbers, letters and punctuation marks. I highly recommend this course, not just for those seeking a new career in coding but to widen your knowledge and have a better understanding of what your web designers do all day!

Before this course I could not have opened html and known what I was looking at. Now I can comfortably navigate and make a single page with interactions. This course means so much to me. I am very grateful to Matt for helping me learn how to code via Shecodes. I am a mom to an 8 month old baby and it was not easy having to attend class and take care of my baby at the same time. However the way this workshop was design, it made it easy for me to learn whenever I was free. Due to this program I am now very much interested in doing more coding and furthering my studies.

Having completed the SheCodes Basics program, I was initially apprehensive about whether I would be able to keep up with the curriculum as it involved a new programming language (Javascript). However, from day one, Matt's lessons were comprehensive, the community was supportive. As I said in the previous testimonial I gave on completing the Basics, what I appreciated most about the SheCodes was the emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning. Instead of just reading about coding concepts in a textbook or watching lectures, we were actually coding from day one. Not only did this help solidify the concepts we were learning, but it also made the learning process more enjoyable and engaging. It's undeniable that there were hard times but going through the videos and working on the weekly projects helped me get better at it. I spent weeks trying to learn HTML, CSS, and Java script. Matt explained it clearly in 3 days. I learned how to implement new design ideas and use basic functions. I am extremely impressed by this workshop. Since the workshop is go at your own pace, I completed the entire workshop in 3 days time and built a basic functional website that is appealing. Thank you!
