I would compare taking this course to a rollercoaster ride. It was fun, challenging, and personally frustrating for me for like 85% of the time. But what stood out to me the most, β and honestly what pushed me to finish the course β was the constant encouragement from Matt. He acknowledges that learning how to code is tough and that we'll DEFINITELY be stumped from time to time with the course homework and challenges. Yet he emphasized that these are vital stepping stones in the learning process and that the end result will be rewarding β and indeed it is! I highly recommend this course and Matt's empowering approach to anyone eager to learn how to code.
I loved this eight weeks workshop because I learned about javascript functions, Ajax, search engines, API, Github, hosting, and many more. Matt is truly blessed with structure and easy ways of solving problems. I recommend you apply for this workshop and see how fun it is.

At times it was a tad confusing and even overwhelming, especially having no prior experience in coding. But the community here is always eager to help, and the resources online make it possible for you to keep pushing through! I enjoy Matt's teaching style and how he doesn't edit his videos to the point where he seamlessly eases through the lesson. Mistakes are shown and corrected, and that's what truly helps me learn!

I found SheCodes a year ago and join the free webinar. After taking the webinar I was scared that I wouldn't be able to learn how to code. Fast forward to now I decided to take a leap of faith in June. I signed up and I am glad I did. Matt is wonderful teacher. He really puts a lot of thought in to each lesson and I really appreciate that. I have been in the IT field for 2 years now and coding was one for the goals that I had made for myself to accomplish. Matt is an outstanding teacher! He is incredibly talented at simplifying complex concepts and at introducing the correct pieces of information sequentially in order to build foundational knowledge. Also, he has a very kind & soothing voice and demeanor. When listening to multiple hours of lectures, it's extremely helpful to enjoy the teacher's voice and personality. He's also funny and adds in bits of humor to some recordings. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I've really enjoyed my journey so far with SheCodes, from the free introductory workshop allowing me to get an idea of what coding actually was, to now completing my basics workshop it's been great. I've enjoyed the SheCodes basics course way more than I expected - so much so that I plan to upgrade to pro! Matt is a great teacher and I love the format of short videos with embedded challenges. It's so much easier to focus and to practise skills straight away rather than watching long videos and trying to remember everything. Would highly recommend.
This was highly challenging for me, but Matt does a fantastic job explaining everything so well. Also, it felt like a support group because Matt would say " I know, I know, React is hard when it's your first time coming across it", so that was comforting. Great workshop; I really appreciated how Matt broke down all the concepts into more digestible "bits". I also liked the structure of the challenges and the way he provided several alternatives for various desired design "outcomes". SheCodes is an amazing place to start learning code. It is immersive, whilst Matt explains in detail how each piece of code interacts with each other and how it affects the end project. The tidbit sectioning in each week's work makes it easy to follow and allows you to set your own pace.

I completed this add-on workshop in 3 days... some really useful hints and a great opportunity to put into practise again what I'd learnt in the original basics course.
