I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Matt explains things in a very comprehensible way and shows you exactly what to do as he talks about it. The structure is wonderful because you actually learn instead of just following along. After being shown exactly how to work on the lesson's topic, it forces you to try the problems on your own before you can see the solution but you can still go back and rework it if you need with no sense of shame. I love that I can go at my own pace instead of one dictated by a live class. I am looking forward to the next workshop.
I am so glad that I found SheCodes! Before taking this workshop I knew nothing about coding! I never thought I would have this much fun learning how to code. Matt really made the material easy to understand and the challenges that followed each lesson only reinforced that I was grasping the material. I learned so much in just three weeks and I am excited to learn more about coding!
When researching SheCodes and what technologies they covered in their workshops, React quickly piqued my interest. Seeing the real-world applications made it an easy decision to enroll. Matt and the SheCodes team provided a great, easy to follow step-by-step lesson plan and were always available and helpful, as well as a fun project as a way to learn these skills. The workshop was very well structured with helpful step-by-step videos, available resources, tips, and a very interactive chat platform when help was needed. I have a much better understanding of how these codes are formatted and structured and can't wait to advance further in the future.

It was a fantastic adventure. I had a brief experience with coding a few years ago, but I could hardly remember anything. SheCodes was a fun way to expand my knowledge. As a long time service industry professional, I was concerned about the future of my career during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the midst of so many changes, I found myself wanting options. I enjoyed the beginner workshop because the format allowed me to go at my own pace. I could go back and watch the lessons as many times as I needed. Matt was great because he would teach a lesson, but not always show how to get the full solution. This forced me to find the answer, which helped me learn.
Wow! What a wild ride. I signed up for the SheCodes workshop on a whim; I'd played around with HTML/CSS and was interested in learning a bit more. This course was the perfect tool. Matt did an excellent job of breaking up the information in "bite sized" pieces and explaining it in a way that was easy to follow/understand. The challenges after each lesson help the information "stick" and the Slack channel really helps you feel like you're part of a community. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone even remotely interested in the world of coding. I'm definitely considering doing more workshops!

I have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to code through the SheCodes workshop and found Matt's lessons and challenges extremely useful. I feel I have a new skill now that I can continue to develop and possibly pursue a career in. I have already recommended it to friends as you get a great understanding of the foundation and fundamentals of coding compared to other courses being offered. My only issue would be the amount of 5 hours a week mentioned when I took the initial free workshop was not realistic for me as a complete beginner going through each lesson and challenge and then solution required time to absorb all of the new information I was receiving. I would therefore advise anyone who is new to coding and wants to take this course and has other commitments such as full time work, commuting, family etc to be prepared to block out time everyday to go through lessons otherwise it could become overwhelming to complete over the weekend.
It was an amazing course! Enjoyed every single video and challenge. A 3 week course that I've finished in less than 2, even without much time to spend on. I definitely recommend this to total beginners, and people who are foreign to the world of coding. Matt was very clear and explained everything step by step in the videos, which was great. The challenges provided a good mechanism to practice the learning. I also love how I was able to fit this workshop around my schedule. One feedback I have is that the challenges could have been a bit harder and longer to really improve learning. But other than that, I really recommend this!
I joined with zero knowledge about coding and just wanted to try something new. The lessons are well structured and challenging but also surprisingly fun. I was slightly worried about it feeling like an information overload, but the lessons and were broken out into manageable topics and Matt's way of teaching made it interesting. Before getting to know SheCodes, I had zero knowledge on coding and I have never imagined myself that I could broaden my level of understanding towards it. I was not sure whether online platform would be effective as this seemed to be a foreign language that I would not understand at all. My perception towards coding has drastically changed after taking a coding workshop on August 23rd, 2020, facilitated by Matt Delac. Matt is not only a professional full-stack engineer, but also a great teacher who explains what seemed to be complicated with a very simple and easy way. Full of hands on examples and simulations were easy to follow and I could immediately apply what I learned. Mr.Matt dissected knowledge into pieces and guided me to combine them like a puzzle. During the learning journeys of HTML, CSS, and Java Script, I noticed myself that I actually enjoyed the workshops and gained confidence towards coding. I wanted to express my personal gratitude for the effort and extra time Matt and SheCodes staffs have contributed. I am proud of myself as I could broaden my comfort zone towards coding in few weeks. Changing careers could be daunting, but SheCodes has helped me to gain the confidence to switch gears towards tech. I intend to be a Full-Stack UX Designer someday. They made it possible for me to study whilst working full-time. Matt explains the subject well and challenges you to look for the solutions yourself. Plus, having a supportive and approachable team whenever I'm stuck is a huge bonus! It was tough, and a bit stressful and confusing at times but it gets easier the more you practice and go over everything. It was more enjoyable and interesting than I thought it would be, I have started to feel more confident in my abilities thanks to this workshop. It was a really exciting experience with a lot of challenges. Matt is explaining everything step by step and the lessons are recorded . I was able to go back and watch them multiple times until I make my project work. But it is a such good feeling when the app is working!
I am not gonna lie, I was really skeptical with this idea.I started SheCodes workshop with 0(zero) knowledge of coding. I was already preparing to quit and not even started yet. I thought that coding is really hard and I will not be able to learn this, but actually, I am glad to inform you, it is NOT true. SheCodes team and instructor Matt are awesome and sooo helpful. I loved the SheCodes Workshop! Coding is something I have wanted to try for a long time, but I have always been put off by the fact that you are always told at school that coding is only for the people who were the very best at maths. However, as this course has taught me, that isn't at all the case! If you put your mind to it, anyone can learn how to code. I fully support any initiatives to encourage girls and women to code, as we are very underrepresented in the tech sector. SheCodes Plus was definitely an intense journey! Even though I struggled sometimes, it was always possible to find help and to deliver what was expected. In college, I took an intro to coding class and the professor made it so confusing. I ended up dropping out and being scared of code since then. Coding is always intimidating, especially to someone who has no background in it. I like that Matt's videos are bite-size, which makes is easy to learn, follow & absorb the material. The challenges & the project help to solidify the materials that was taught.

Whenever I had tried to learn coding in the past I was unsuccessful and had a hard time understanding it. Matt made is EXTREMELY easy to understand and I feel more confident in myself since I was able to create something I thought would be impossible. Even if you don't plan on becoming a developer, it is important to understand how they think if you are to work with them in the future. Great course structure. Matt is a balanced instructor, very thorough, but not too much. Each challenge had a solution demonstrated. The slack team was very helpful. You are not only taught to code but how to find the answers to your questions online and there's a slack team to help you with everything. Indeed it's a really funny and colorful coding project, with a lot of userful indications about auxiliary tools and websites. Also the Slack app where everybody's connected is a good way to get userful infos through other users experience.
I was nervous to start at first. Not having any prior knowledge of coding was intimidating, but I am so glad I took a leap into the coding world! Understanding coding is made achievable by Matt breaking down lessons into simple interesting sections, they don't overwhelm you in one go! Learning online with other students in the same boat have been a flexible and reassuring journey as everyone works at a different pace, reaching towards the same goal, JoΓ£o and Lexi have been welcoming and helpful throughout the weeks, thank you SheCodes team it was a great journey.
I took HTML and CSS in college as a design course but during that time, coding didn't click to me. After taking the 3 weeks coding courses with Matt, I now understand coding a lot better. I am considering doing more coding and possibly turning it into a career! :)
I just finished the introduction to coding workshop and I'm amazed at how much I was able to learn in only three weeks. The curriculum is very straight-forward and very easy to comprehend. Coding can be very hard to grasp, however, Matt makes it look easy, overcoming my fear of coding. The challenges are very helpful, they get more difficult as the workshop progresses. Overall, I had a great experience and I'm exciting for the next workshop.
Absolutely recommend to every woman who is interested in technology. Great content and delivery, Matt is a great teacher and team's support made coding π©βπ» very enjoyable. Will definitely be back for more!
SheCodes React was really challenging and really rewarding. I feel like I've learned very valuable skills and am looking forward to continuing to learn more and work on other projects to hopefully make a career change. I am thankful for Matt, JoΓ£o, Lexi, and women taking this course who have helped and supported me along this journey. I look forward to using my app to look up current weather data and continuing to work on projectsπ
