Thank you Shecodes and Matt for teaching me the basics of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I always thought that coding would be something that required a lot of IT skills but through this course, I find out I am actually pretty good at it and picked up things fast. Especially working with VS code made it so much easier! You just need to put in some effort and do a lot of testing and you will find out it's exciting and fun to see your results immediately online 😀. These 3 weeks have taught me a lot and I am really considering signing up for the follow-up courses. It will be so much easier to create my own website and perhaps start an actual career in coding. I never would of imagined myself trying to learn how to program. I've never been good at math and always thought good analytical skills was needed for this kind of area. SheCodes Plus was an incredible roller-coaster ride, with ups and downs and full of excitement. I had a lot of fun (and got frustrated on occasions) going through the lessons and looking for solutions on Slack and other sources. I started with the free intro class with Matt through SheCodes Basic and SheCodes Plus. Highly recommend following SheCodes Plus with React. React is tough but the course work is broken down well and there is that great community via Slack to connect to when the going gets tough. I really feel like I'll use React forever more now. I've gained confidence at my own pace with SheCodes.

After completing the first introduction course with SheCodes, i wanted to learn more. I have wanted to learn to code for a while but didn't know where to start. Matt's tutorials are very easy to follow and understand and helps us to complete the weekly homework and final projects. The support on slack is amazing and if you are stuck, you will have a reply within hours which has been a massive help. This course has been more challenging than the introduction course, but I am proud to have completed it.

I am beyond grateful to the SheCodes team for adding the Responsive workshop to their portfolio! I am looking at changing careers and always wanted to try coding. (I'm good with languages) :-). It was my first coding experience and I think tones more to learn. I just feel like I touched the surface. Great thing about the course, it is a hands on experience. I am pretty sure I want to continue with Javascript which is more challenging than HTML or CSS. I got frustrated on many occasions but in the end you can rely on Matt's solutions and tech support. I'm looking forward to React.

I started this program top be able to learn how to code websites, as I have a vision for a business website that I have in mind. It is a very complex site and in order for me to understand everything that goes into it. I need to learn what goes on in the backend. These first 3 weeks have been amazing and I have learned so much in regards to website and coding that exact specifications. Matt has been an amazing instructor and has made it easy to understand. What I once thought was a bunch of gibberish, now makes sense. I look forward to the next course as I bought the Pro.

And with this final submission, I have completed all available SheCodes workshops! 🥲All previous SheCodes grads should take this responsive course. I'm taking all of the knowledge I've gotten from this course and I'm going to be going back through my previous projects from Plus and React and retooling them with the info I've gained through this workshop. As always, Matt explains things in a way that it's easy to understand and implement. If there are ever other SheCodes workshops in the future, I will definitely be taking those too.

I can't possibly believe that someone like me who has zero coding knowledge would be able to create my own landing page in just 3weeks. This workshop is completely hands-on. It can be challenging but it it is definitely worth it. I went from zero knowledge of coding to building a weather app in a matter of weeks. I highly recommend this workshop for beginners like me.

Learning Javascript was very challenging, but the step-by-step videos with Matt demystify the entire process and even made it a lot of fun going through the lessons. It is mandatory to dedicate a few hours of practice.

I was thinking of learning to code way before I found SheCodes. However, I never followed through as it seemed unattainable for me as a person without any concept of what coding actually was in the first place. As insurmountable a problem it appeared to be, when Matt compared code to language it made much more sense to me. I am happy to have learned its basics and hope to deepen my coding skills in the near future and apply them professionally.

The SheCodes Basic's program was a great introduction to coding. I thoroughly enjoyed the bite sized classes and enjoyed the challenges that the course offered. In comparison to the introduction workshop, this one was really challenging for me as I already had basic HTML and CSS knowledge, but not JavaScript. I'm a UX designer and took the workshop to learn how to code so I can better communicate and collaborate with developers. I was surprised how much fun it was to code! Matt is great at explaining important concepts and showing you how to code, but he doesn't spoon-feed you everything. He gives you the resources so you learn to research and trouble shoot. Of course there's a whole community of students and Matt himself on Slack to help and support you too when you're stuck. Matt is a rock star and I enjoyed SheCodes Radio while I was coding. I loved the course! I'll be honest, it was hard at first but at one point I found myself getting more and more excited about coding. Matt is a great teacher as he really explains why and how something works. It's almost as if he's sitting there right with you and showing you how it's done. When you get that 'Ahhaaa! moment and everything clicks, then you feel like you could rewrite the internet!! All jokes aside, I 100% do recommend this course to anyone that's interested in digging deeper and really developing some real coding skills.

It is unbelievable that just through 3 courses I was able to code 2 amazing react applications (dictionary and weather app). I definitely highly recommend it to anyone who hesitates. Even though I have full-time study and two part-time jobs I was excited for every class and every homework that Matt gave us. What more, my new employer was impressed by my coding skilled and sees it as an advantage (even though my job is more marketing and data oriented than IT).

Taking the foundations built in both the first and second SheCodes courses, Matt deftly explained and applied the same concepts in React, showing both the extent of what we had learned and the complex applications of what we could now do. I feel much more confident in my ability to apply what I've learned in past courses and better able to approach the problem-solving aspects of coding, along with now having a solid understanding of the framework and capabilities of React.

I decided to try the 3 week program because I wanted to understand coding, sure, this is just a small sample of everything that coding entails, but it was an amazing course!! Explaining it like learning a language really helped me take away the fear and intimidation behind the word “code” and made it fun, challenging and exciting!! The classes stretch and challenge you - all at a really good pace - and the support which is available beyond the workshops, is so helpful. There's also nothing more satisfying than that lightbulb moment where your code works! I can't believe how much I've been able to learn, thanks to SheCodes - thanks a lot to Matt and his amazing team.

I LOVED creating a website from scratch through SheCodes Responsive. This is my favorite course to date. Looking forward to starting SheCodes React this week as well. I highly recommend SheCodes to any woman interested in Coding. Matt's a great teacher! Cheers.

I am always up for a coding challenge but this step by step instruction with Matt was so simple to follow. I feel so much more confident in my coding after taking this workshop. I'm looking forward to creating more projects in the future with what I've learned with SheCodes :)

I really enjoyed SheCodes Basics as an introduction to coding. The workshop is easy to follow and gives you a chance to get a first insight into HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Matt is a brilliant instructor and shows you how much fun coding can be. For me it was a wonderful opportunity to discover a new passion and I will continue to explore coding.

I really LOVED taking the SheCodes React course! It gave me all the tools I needed to build an app from the beginning to the end, using everything I learned in SheCodes Basics and Plus, in addition to learning how to streamline all my code in React. I love this method of learning, with Matt's videos in which he explains and shows the whole process, and also the challenges and homeworks, that allowed me to practice and learn, and also prepared me to the final project. I'm looking forward to getting on SheCodes Responsive!
