The lessons were very easy to follow because Matt breaks down the material step by step. Also the staff on slack were very helpful, it seems like there were no coding issues they can't solve.
Being part of this workshop has been awesome, I enjoy the fact that you could learn at your own time and understand each one of the lessons thanks to the clarity of the videos and examples given by Matt I highly recommend it.
These three weeks of the SheCodes Basics Workshop have been both awesome and challenging. I really enjoyed learning the very basics of coding specially HTML and CSS. JavaScript is been definitely more challenging to learn for me but I somehow managed to complete the challenges which makes me proud and stoked! Matt is an awesome teacher and he explains it all in a very simple and understandable way. Bruno and Joao have been super nice and helpful as well and all the coders from the slack platform are super keen to learn and help to each other which makes the whole coding experience really fun and friendly. The Basics Workshop did an excellent job of making it very easy to learn and practice what was learned real time, to set the student on the path of basic web development. I have already been able to easily build upon what I learned to make the page appear and function differently according to my liking with simple google searches on JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. I am 21 years old and have always worked retail jobs, I am looking forward to finishing SheCodes Pro to open the door to potential job opportunities. SheCodes Basic was amazing, I learned so much. The workshop was not what I expected. I thought it was going to be "head-scratching" and "hair-pulling" kind of struggle. But I am glad that Matt's videos were straightforward. SheCodes made what seemed to be so complex to me, quite the opposite thanks to Matts amazing detailed videos, and a great team from slack that helped with any questions throughout the course. Yes, that's me with the grey hair. Not quite the oldest to enrol in SheCodes but getting close! I recommend this course to women of any age. Already I have more confidence in a web project I'm developing for a client. I've now enrolled in SheCodes Plus, because much to my surprise, I've enjoyed coding (as Matt promised!).

When I asked what is coding, everyone said that it is a difficult profession that requires knowledge of mathematics. I have always stayed away from this profession because I am not good with mathematics. SheCodes basic was a great intro to the coding world! Matt's quick how-to videos have just the right amount of information followed by challenges that allow you to practice. I also liked that Matt leaves room for you to figure things out for yourself. You will have to think outside the box, use Google, to assist in figuring out the challenges and homework. I'm proud of my final project and impressed with the skills that I attained in such a short amount of time.
Finally I made it through! Yet another amazing Responsive journey! Working full-time and love to code has been very difficult for me this time, but many thanks to Matt for his beautiful lesson planning and to SheCodes team for the great encouragement and the support that they have been giving to all of us. :)

It has been great learning coding again especially with the step by step on how to different areas of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It has also been great knowing you learn, the try out the challenges and then see the solution. As Matt has explained there are different solutions so you will not feel bad as long as the functionality works π With practice you will be able to become more familiar and confident with coding

My current career hit a rut and I felt like I lost motivation and passion for my work. I began looking at career-change options and new skill sets that I could learn. I came across and attended the SheCodes "Free Coding Class" and built enough confidence to sign up for the SheCodes 3-week Basic workshop, which I just finished and LOVED! The style of instruction is very easy to follow and Matt does an excellent job explaining each of the lessons. The way it's being taught throughout 3 weeks makes it very easy to keep up even if you have a full time job. The fact that for each section there are videos not only to teach you but also to show what the challenge is and to give a thorough explanation of the solution is extremely helpful! SheCodes Basics was the perfect entry-level coding course for me! I admit I started the course with doubt - "Will I be able to follow? Will this be easy enough for me - a complete beginner?" But after the first few lessons, I fell in love with coding, how creative it is and now I can say that I truly enjoy doing it. The course is well structured - I enjoyed 'challenges' after lessons (helps to cement the new knowledge) and the fact that after each 'challenge' we had an explanation video on how Matt would have completed it. Matt Delac is a great instructor - he gives clear instructions and a lot of tips on how to become a better coder throughout the course. The SheCodes team is very helpful and I enjoyed the SheCodes Slack community.
What I liked most about the SheCodes program is that the instructor, Matt, is a seasoned professional developer who gives practical tips on the development workflow and speaks from experience. Besides this, his passion for coding and web development is infectious!
Never have I ever sit down for 3 hours straight just to study or learn something. Well I guess now I know what I really love to do. Matt Delac is so good at explaining everything. React is not easy; however, the key concepts will be repeated over and over again during the building of the projects throughout the course. You will eventually get used to it and maybe even get the hang of it . This course is packed with information. I like how Matt always gets straight to the point and teaches you the most practical basics. And he is not afraid of showing his mistakes while lecturing coding. I appreciate that, so I can also learn from his mistakes. I am glad I took this course; otherwise, I wouldn't know I like React better than JavaScript.

As a person who got Maths Phobia and almost zero knowledge of science subjects, I never thought that I could code. Thank you Matt for making coding super understandable and the kind help from SheCodes Team, I acquired some basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript:) The challenges after every lesson are very useful. It keeps the students on track and allows us to revise them immediately. I have lots of fun with coding and could never imagine that I am hooked after two weeks! I have really enjoyed this workshop. With the skills I have learned, the sky is the limit! Matt taught me things like elements and attributes, but the most important thing he taught me was how to solve problems that appear in your code by using universal resources. That skill is everlasting.
