SheCodes Basic was amazing! I always wanted to learn how to code, but I always assumed that it might be too difficult. However, Matt explains in a very easy and patient way. I was really glad that the lessons are in "bite sized" pieces because as a beginner there were lots of videos I had to rewatch to fully absorb the information. I really like that SheCodes Instructor Matt also shows you how to find other solutions and resources online.

This program covers a lot of information. It is both challenging and rewarding. Matt does a great job at breaking down complex material, and the team gives great feedback to my questions. The program is straight forward and teaches the skills necessary for the job.

I really enjoyed this course. I find there are a lot of courses or tutorials out there that say for complete beginners, but they are sometimes hard to follow. In part because some instructors assume you know the technical things they are doing (e.g., using keyboard shortcuts). I like the way Matt teaches subjects but I find he also teaches you how to think like a developer and learn how to find the resources that are needed to feel confident from the start.

Hello! I'm a newcomer in coding, and my specialty is far from it, too. I won the participation in the course as one of 10,000 Ukrainian women-refugees. At first I was afraid that I couldn’t understand anything from the explanation and wouldn’t be able to complete any task. However, in fact everything was brilliantly clear for me, and I gained a great experience during this 3 week and really fallen in love with coding! Matt is a great tutor! Now look at me! I’ve just completed my first page in HTML, using a JS function and some CSS tricks. It's a cool relax and a great challenge together! Few years ago I took courses on JavaScript but it didn't really click. It's when I started SheCodes workshops I was fascinated and eager to learn. I couldn't have imagined I would end up here, excited to learn and have fun coding. I had watched videos and tried coding courses but it did not work out well for me because it was poorly explained and extremely confusing. I have learned so much just from SheCodes basics workshop, that completing that final project felt like a huge accomplishment. The instructor Matt, has done an amazing job putting these lessons together.

I really love this bootcamp! It gives me both aspects of what I need to learn; I get the hands-on training with the projects and I get the procedural training with Matt's lessons. This bootcamp has made me fall in love more with coding because it's so challenging yet satisfying when I finally get something!

I am very proud of my projects looking so professional already. It is great seeing Matt code in real time; it has allowed me to not be so hard on myself when making mistakes and it gives real life examples of how to fix those mistakes. I've always felt like a have a thing for coding but never actually had the courage or time to explore this passion, until I found SheCodes! A great approach to the basics of front-end engineering for an absolute beginner. Matt does not only show you a function, he shows you why it's important to know it, and possible ways to apply that to your homework/project. I would recommend this course to who prefer learns by hand-on experience and want to learn the foundation of coding.

SheCodes Basic was great. I got interested in coding few months ago and first I tried some online tutorials but got demotivated quickly because there was too much information and not enough examples or exercises. Matt explains everything in an easy, fun and concise way, you get to try everything in the exercises, you learn where to look for when you are stuck, and it even helped me to think outside the box. That's how you get motivated to learn more and code every day :)

Let me start off by saying that this experience learning from Shecodes has changed my life forever! I was never that kid who loved the computer growing up; that was my younger sister. I studied music while she went on to become a successful Program Developer. I would always watch her work and felt like it was too hard for me to ever understand; coding was out of my league. When I saw this opportunity come up, I became excited. I started reading all the stories of people who changed their careers after taking the classes and knew I wanted the same opportunity. React was definitely more difficult than the rest of the sections, but was definitely worth it, and Matt made it easy to follow along. I'm incredibly glad I did this course, as it's taught me a lot, now hoping Ill be able to get a job from this.

Programming was something I never saw myself capable of doing. I had mistaken ideas about my suitability for it that were dissolved by Matt's first introductory session, ie the day I became obsessed with wanting to code.
