This course was incredible. I never would have ever believed I could have so much fun doing something like coding, but I loved every minute of it! Matt is a brilliant teacher, who knows how to break complicated subject matter down into a way that makes it easier to grasp. I've just completed SheCodes Python Basics - and I am so glad I decided to learn with SheCodes. Matt is great, he explains everything clearly, introduces concepts well without using too much tech speak. The course is easy to follow - you can do it as quickly or as slowly as you like - but having a structure, the email reminders and the slack groups make you feel more accountable than your average lesson on Coursera or Udemy. I really liked that the lesson videos are short - anywhere between 5 - 15 mins and then you practice the skills after. This helped me learn quickly and build my confidence so I could play around to see what else I could do. I'm looking forward to completing Python Advanced next!
She Codes has been really helpful in starting my coding journey. The workshops are easy to follow and Matt explains everything so well. The solutions provided after every challenge are really helpful especially when I want to correct a code I miswrote.

I never knew i could do coding. In all honesty i did not think i would make it this far. It was challenging at times but the challenges at the end made you want to do and learn more. The last time I tried to use HTML was back when I was trying to add color and music to my Myspace! I learned a lot in this course! It was was fun, challenging, and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed taking this beginner coding course! While there were challenges along the way, I loved learning new things and pushing myself to overcome them. The tutor, Matt, was incredibly detailed in his explanations, making it easy to follow along and grasp the concepts. I also appreciated that the challenges were varied from what we were directly taught, encouraging self-study and research, which made the learning experience even more rewarding.
This boot camp was very intimidating for me initially, but I remembered why I joined in the first place. It was really challenging I won't lie, but very exciting, Matt was very helpful along with the Slack team. It's also such a blessing to learn such a skill for FREE.. Weeks 1 to 3 of this workshop were great - we learnt a lot and there were many useful hints and techniques to save us time and make our projects look more attractive. However, weeks 4 and 5 were disappointing - none of the information was new, and the hours of videos were basically just watching Matt code an example project using techniques we had already been taught. I feel like this workshop could be cut to three or four weeks; by that point students should be well prepared to work autonomously (referring back to past videos if needed). I didn't want to skip any of the videos in the later weeks in case there was important new information, but it was just consolidation and repetition. Building a portfolio for our project was really useful, and it's great how things are broken down step by step, but each video could have just been way shorter. I'm still really looking forward to moving onto other SheCodes workshops, and I'm sure the content is going to get more challenging again.

As someone who is currently studying Applied Mathematics at University, within 3 weeks I got to learn and quickly grasp as well as thoroughly understand the basics concepts of HTML, CSS and JavaScript through SheCodes which is something that not even my university lectures could do. Matt indeed is an excellent instructor, he explains everything consisely and each lesson; though brief; is very insightful given that this page is made for busy women. I enjoyed every bit of learning and had a lot of fun doing the homework, the final project was the cherry on top.
