I didn't imagine that coding is something that I could ever learn; I have always thought that it is a very complicated subject and only those good in math or "engineers" can understand it. But as I started the lessons I began to see that it can be an interesting and fun experience. SheCodes lessons were divided into a few minutes per topic so the student wouldnβt be overwhelmed. There were challenges at the end of each lesson so it served as a review and to practice what I understood about the topic. Matt is also a great instructor; he was able to explain things very well, in a simple and clear manner. I found myself looking forward to watching each lesson! And to the amazing support of the SheCodes team, where you can readily ask for help in case you get stuck on the assignments that you are working on. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and blessed to be a part of this community.

I was quite hesitant before signing up because I didn't think I would be able to learn how to code. But the lessons are very well designed: the videos are short which makes it accessible, the exercises are fun but difficult enough to make it challenging and there is constant interaction with the SheCodes team π©βπ» in case you have questions. Also, since English is not my native language, I was afraid that learning to code would be a double challenge for me. But Matt speaks slowly and is super clear, plus there are tools like Close Caption to help those who have English as their second or third language. I highly recommend it; this course proves that we can all code πͺπ½πͺπ½.

This was another excellent workshop. The creation of the weather app was engaging from beginning to end. In each video Matt explained everything really clearly. He was always challenging me to do my best and although it wasn't easy, it wasn't impossible. Matt really know how to go into concepts one step at a time and gradually took me from HTML and CSS to Bootstrap and JavaScript. This was another amazing workshop and I can't wait to the next.

For a long time I've been passionate to work with software development, but because I hadn't studied a related major in college and being almost 30yo, for times I thought it was too late to get to such career. But when we have passion and determination, we can make anything happen. I started working as a QA, performing manual tests for a software. But manually testing at some point was no longer a challenge for me, so I wanted to dive into developing automation scripts with JS. I found sheCodes basics and I instantly fell in love with Matt's didactics, teaching code in a simple, fun and clear way! That really helped me to get a head start, with a testing tool that uses JS as framework. Further on, I decided to do shecodes Plus + React to keep learning and growing as QA and perhaps become a FE developer. It's been over 3 years working as a Quality Assurance Engineer for automation, and I can say I love my job! It's never too late to pursue your passions.
A super and challenging course that made me understand how to make a good website responsive. Matt's explanations were very helpful and it was a lot of fun.
The amount I learned throughout these workshops has been a lot but Matt explained everything well and I can already see how far I've come since taking the Basic course.
I'm starting to gain a lot of confidence in my ability to code. Matt does a great job of going through everything in a way that is possible to follow and he also does a great job reiterating that the solution he is providing is not the only solution. I've noticed a significant shift in how I think about coding. I find it a lot easier to connect past lessons and current ones and even create solutions to problems that we have not discussed. I know I have a future in tech and SheCodes has allowed me to see and believe that I have the ability to do this and also that I am just scratching the surface.
This workshop was really breathtaking. All information was helpful and I learned a lot of cool things about HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap, which allowed me to make my own Portfolio Site. I'm happy, and very grateful to SheCodes and Matt personally.

I started out knowing NOTHING about coding and am finishing up with a really decent grasp. The course was so easy to follow and Matt does an amazing job at explaining everything clearly. I've enjoyed it so much and am motivated to keep learning.

This workshop was definitely challenging and it required a lot more that 5 hours a week some weeks but in saying that I made it! And I am so excited with what I have learnt and achieved in such a short period. Going from having zero knowledge from a development stand point to being able to create a fully functional weather app with an API linked in is very exciting. The knowledge that I have gained through Matt and the team is already being applied in my job as a health application specialist and it has elevated my testing and ability to trouble shoot.

I'm positively surprised by how much I learned in such a short amount of time. The challenges are indeed challenging, but the project was extra fun. I like that Matt does not simply read a script but is passionate about his endeavor. He continuously shows me how to help myself. After the course, I will know where to look and find more information. The course is partially exhausting, but every minute invested is 100% worth it. Two thumbs up! I highly recommend it.

Staying teachable is important no matter what phase of your career you are in - or even in your personal life. Everything in our lives has now moved to a digital platform and understanding how apps really work and the work that goes into design and function of a webpage or app has made me appreciate my online life, my devices and everything in between that involves an internet connection. Hopefully I can continue to build on what I have learned so far and pursue a career in tech!

Such a bitter-sweet moment right now, this is my 4th and last workshop with SheCodes, and what can I say, I'm beyond thankful to Matt and the team for creating this incredible platform to teach women how to code and break into the tech industry. Just 6 months ago I didn't know what HTML was and now I can code using React. I highly recommend SheCodes, a challenging but fun way to learn how to code.
it was great! I never thought that making a website responsive could be this challenging and fun. during this workshop, we learned how to create multi-page websites and there was a chance to show ourselves and our abilities, not just a task to learn but an actual worthy portfolio project. now I'm able to set up a domain and have my own website. fun, free, professional (special thanks to SheCodes and matt).
I never thought in my life I could do any coding whatsoever but Matt and the team made it so easy and fun! A week ago, I knew nothing about coding. Today I completed my first project and I couldn't be more proud of myself as a student and Matt as a teacher. It was a good match for me. I knew HTML and a bit of CSS, but bootstrap, java script, React and so on were new to me. These courses had given me a pretty solid introduction into those areas.
