when to use span
The <span> element is used in HTML to create inline elements or to apply styles or attributes to small pieces of text within a larger block of text or a paragraph. It does not add any special meaning to the content within it.
You can use <span> when you want to apply specific styles or attributes to a specific part of the text. For example, if you want to highlight a particular word or phrase within a sentence, you can wrap it in a <span> element and apply styles such as color, font-size, or font-weight to that element.
Here is an example of how you can use <span> in HTML:

In this example, the text "this is an important message" will be rendered in red color due to the styling applied to the <span> element.
You can also use <span> to assign a specific class or id to a portion of text so that you can target it with CSS or JavaScript. For example:

<p>Click <span class="highlight">here</span> to learn more.</p>
In this example, the word "here" has the CSS class "highlight" assigned to it, which can then be used in CSS to style it differently from the rest of the text.
