You get to become part of a very welcoming community without even realising it, while learning from a skillfull developer and teacher. The level of the classes challenges you in a perfect way, pushing your retention of knowledge, while frequent assignments keep your attention in check. It made me want more!!!
With a background in Design, I enjoy both the creative and the more analytical aspects of building something. Which is why, even having learned a few basics in the past, it was important to hone my coding skills and maybe even go further in the future. SheCodes is definitely the place to start if you're thinking about developing this skill!
It was great to learn something completely out of my comfort zone, and feels even better to know you're being part of such initiative. The people were great, they helped a lot. And after this you have everything you need to enter the coding world that sometimes is hidden from us.

Prepare yourself because this will be the most productive weekend you've had in a while! You will learn three coding languages - HTML, CSS and Java Script - during the workshop and from that point on you will be able to create webpages by yourself. As a journalism student, I see nothing but benefits when it comes to learning code, especially considering how much the digital world has increased over the years. There is no doubt that Matt is an incredible teacher and most important he will teach you how to turn into an autodidact. Spend a weekend at SheCodes and you will probably think the same! 💜

SheCodes changed my life in a way I could not have imagined. Not only did I discover a new skill I love, it led me to quit my actual job as a hospitality agent (I used to work in a hotel as a front desk agent)!! I am now investing my time in learning and practicing how to code and eventually get a job as a manager or elsewhat. Every single member in SheCodes team has an inspirational story and Matt is extremely positive when it comes to learning and being patient. I had zero experience in programming before starting the SheCodes workshop. I wanted to challenge myself and learn a new skill. I also thought it would be beneficial for my job, as I work at a software vendor company as a Recruiter and I wanted to gather more knowledge about the job of a Developer. I enjoyed the course immensely! The structure and the provided guidance made it a fun experience to get the first insights into programming. I now have much better understanding of many concepts in programming and can do some basic operations in CSS, HTML and JS.

It is a good way to begin coding. You don't need any previous experience to get started, although I think it would be handy. 3-week long live workshop gives you the opportunity to see whether you would like to continue and take a more serious step towards it. It was great!
I've really enjoyed the online coding workshop and I can not believe how much I've learned in such a short period of time. Matt is a great instructor, he has provided high-quality course materials with accompanying challenges and homework. He also gave lots of useful tips throughout the workshop including how to search to get the best results and how to use the keyboard more efficiently. I took my first steps towards becoming a developer thanks to SheCodes and cannot wait to continue with the other SheCodes courses to learn more!
It's a good start for people who have trouble following online courses. The weekly assignments and webinar format work well. A bit too rushed to learn things in depth, but as I said, a good start.

It's an amazing opportunity to find out how to work with code languages, to discover new opportunities and to acquire new skills. SheCodes allowed me to learn the basics about front-end developing in a fun and inspiring environment. Having no previous coding experience I never though that I would be able to create a landing page after just 2 days - but I did and I am already eager to keep developing my skills.
In two days I learned a lot about coding. Thanks to the workshop, am more comfortable with the code and I discovered a passion for javascript. If I had to do it again, I would do it without hesitation.

I was very happy to do this workshop, and I think everyone women should do it. It's about making the effort and making sure we're doing everything we can so we can work on the days in the future.
If you want to actually learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript basics - take this course with Matt. After taking a bunch of other courses in-person and online, this is the only one where I truly felt that I understood everything. My goal was to have functional knowledge of Javascript basics, and I definitely gained those skills. I'm very excited to take the next step in learning more so I can make my designs and illustrations come to life.

My goal with this workshop was to learn about Javascript in order to understand better how tracking pixels work that we use in digital marketing. Totally worth it!

Excellent workshop to start studying these programming languages. However, it does require some basic knowledge of programming logic, in my view. It was a very positive experience.
After taking an intro course I am more interested in the tech world and how it works. It was easy to understand and complete the course. Your own imagination and creativity sets the limit.

I really enjoyed being part of this project, although there are many other things to learn, it has challenged me in a way I haven't had for a long time and gave me the desire to learn more.

My 1st ever experience with coding was about 20 years ago or so! Do you remember Geocities, at Yahoo? I remember I created a very rudimentary website with HTML there. Since then, my academic and working career has had nothing to do with coding at all. Lately I have become more interested at coding since I love learning new things and this workshop has been a nice challenge for me. It has also allowed me to explore my creativity and think about personal future projects. And definitely, it is an opportunity if you consider to change career. SheCodes is a very interesting way to learn the bases of web development and understand it's not really rocket-science. The teaching method is very interactive, allowing us to apply the bases after each class and giving the tools to continue learning by ourselves!

Learning how to code with SheCodes workshops was extremely fulfilling and nice experience for me. I got over my fear of IT-related tasks, challenged myself and learn something new. Now I am even more motivated to dive into coding world! :)
Matt is a great instructor. He presented all of the information in a way that was easy to understand. I feel that the material was structured very well with a good balance of live classes along with the convenience of learning at our own pace at home. I enjoyed the whole experience - learning, the homework, the project...all of it! I will be looking for the SheCodes Plus availability that will fit my schedule soon.
I attended to SheCodes Live Workshop, so I can only talk about that. The course itself is instructed nicely, however I believe the curriculum was not very well suited to the amount of money that you pay (at my time it was 99 euros). you are going to have Courses and homeworks for 2 weeks, and the whole third week is dedicated to your final project, which I believe it could be better if they would have some material for the 3rd week too (Matt is going to have live webinar for 4 times in total, once per week). If you are brand new in coding then yes that is a good way to start. Also the slack-chat environment has a really nice, helpful and friendly atmosphere. BUT for someone who has a tiny little bit of coding experience I wont recommend this course. you should look for more challenging homeworks and syllabus. They are at the starting point though, so most probably they are going to improve themselves a lot.
