My name is Whitney Reed. I'm from Mississippi, but now living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Back, in 2019 and in 2021, I had got in trouble. I lost custody of my daughter to my aunt and uncle in Mississippi. In 2022, I was into a relationship not too long after that and I wasn't happy with my life and the choices i made in it. in 2023, I, then, decided to moved to New Orleans. My goal was to do DoorDash with my car and saving up money, but i ran my car down and sold it. After using up my money and resources, I called a friend up for advice on the next move. She suggests a shelter, so I look one up. The second listing on Google was the New Orleans Mission. It's a faith-based homeless shelter that has an amazing 1 year discipleship that gets people learned about God and help you get back to him. After that, they help people get back in society, and help people get back with their families. I'm a graduate of the program and now into the transition stage, where I'm working full-time and working on a car and housing and hopefully, reuniting with my daughter. It's wonderful. While I was there, I was thinking about get back to school, especially in computer and technology. I already went to four colleges, but i dropped out of all four (mainly because of the discussions). One day, when I finally did my research, I came into SheCodes and signed up in Novemeber 2023 on the Black Friday sale. So far, I love the setup. I like how Matt explains each lesson so well. I definitely like Athena AI in answering my questions so well and also the people over at Slack as well. I wanna thank the people responsible at SheCodes for giving women the chance to learn how to code. I appreciate it!
Love how challenging this course was and how Matt shows there are multiple ways to get the same, or similar, solution.

The SheCodes Plus workshop was really challenging, but I have learned a lot from it. I now love working with CodeSandbox and managing my projects on GitHub. Over the past few weeks, I was not only introduced to JavaScript and advanced CSS, but I also learned how to work with APIs and GitHub, which were completely new to me. Completing my weather app has helped me understand certain concepts better and has also provided me with a tangible piece of work to showcase in my portfolio on GitHub and Netlify.
I love this program! it is so easy to learn and i am eager to get to expert level so that i can fully develope myself into making this a career for myself because it is truly fun.

I loved working on this project and continuing to learn new skills in the coding world. The workshop is delivered in easy bite-sized chunks that make the learning more enjoyable and easy to manage in your daily life.
Loved the first part, Matt is great explaining all the content and each exercise helped me to understand and comprehend better the terms. I always felt defeated when I tried to start on coding before but now I'm excited to continue this journey!

I completed the Basics course back in January and it felt amazing to begin my coding journey and finish the first course so strongly. However, I stopped coding for a while and didn't practice the techniques I learned; but when I was ready, I came back and did the Basics course over again and went on to the Basics Add-on course and now, I have completed that as well. I love that the courses are there for me whenever I need them, forever.
I can now build a responsive website😎. My mind is totally blown by this course🤯. A month ago I only had heard about 'coding' and now am among the cool people😂. I'm so excited to keep practicing on my code game. I love love SheCodes!💜

Basic Add-on was a fun addition to learning more about coding. I love the styling part of my project, it makes my creativity come out. Again it was easy to understand and well thought out.
Highly recommend this course. I have loved the pace of the sessions, along with the fact you can rewatch parts if you need to go over it again. While its all done remotely, you don't feel like you're learning on your own.

I started the Shecodes workshop with absolutely no knowledge of coding and I've grown to love coding. I am really grateful for the opportunity to learn such a valuable skill at my own pace from Shecodes and I hope to secure a career in the Tech-World with the skills I've acquired.
I cannot believe I was able to complete such an amazing project! I initially felt a bit intimidated, but this is exactly where my foundational and more advanced skills came in place. The add-on was well-structured and easy to follow, just like other courses. I also loved the new tricks covered during the project!
I spent many hours perfecting my landing page and it was well worth the effort! I learned how to work as a real developer creating this project. I do have to share that embedding the instagram code was my least favorite part of this experience but I love how my page turned out. Thank you, Matt and the amazing SheCodes team!
This was a challenge for me. I had some errors and had a hard time figuring out what I did wrong. I had to step away and come back. It was a great challenge. I was able to fix what I did wrong. Loved the challenge and very happy with my work.
It's such an honor to have participated in this coding workshop with SheCodes. It wasn't easy I must say but Matt Delac made it possible. I can confidently say that I have learnt the basics of HTML, CSS and JS. I had lots of fun watching his tutorials, trying out the challenges and making every line of code worth it. I also had some sleepless nights as well 😢😄. Above all, I thoroughly enjoyed working on the final project because it gave me the opportunity of applying all that I learnt and building something I really love 💖 Anyways cheers to being a frontend developer.
I really loved learning the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript with SheCodes. The weekly lessons are clear and well paced, and there's lots of support available if needed. I recommend the Basics Course to anyone curious about coding!

Love the friendly, and humourous style of teaching from Matt. Some parts of the course was a bit challenging to understand at the start, but with trial and error and persistence - got there in the end!

I fell in love with creating and structuring components in React. Using quite complex concepts, integrating two different APIs and getting comfortable coding in React. I joined this AI add-on workshop after I completed the SheCodes Plus Add-on and honestly, I loved this course and it was so nice to dig a little bit deeper in the world of HTML, CSS and JS. 10/10 would recommend it to anybody who would love to further their skills.

This experience is so amazing, all the detailed lesson I got from Matt have really changed my life in the coding space, I saw coding as very challenging and impossible for me to learn but learning from the SheCodes platform has made me to fall in-love with coding ach and everyday when I learn,
SheCodes is the easiest way to get started with coding. The way Matt teaches makes it very easy to follow along and I love how the information is presented in bite-sized videos, including a solution once a challenge has been submitted. This allowed to me learn and fully understand coding. Even though it was challenging at times, SheCodes made it fun!
was not impressed by the AI part at first, but have to say, I love it now! Extremely well taught by Matt to truly understand each part and step. Slowly but surely getting to a very "impressive level" according to my friends when I share that "yes, I did this all on my own". Love it!

I loved working on this project! I was so relieved to be introduced to a much easier way to work with date and time as this is something I found trickier in earlier lessons, still thankful I had that foundational knowledge to build from though. I'm really proud of my weather app, which I was able to create thanks to the incredible experience I had with SheCodes Plus. Learning to use APIs and delving deeper into JavaScript was both challenging and incredibly rewarding. The cherry on top was learning to host on GitHub and deploy using Netlify. The course structure was well-paced, and Matt is really good at breaking down complex concepts into understandable pieces. Wow! What an awesome journey filled with obstacles that I was able to overcome. This was the best decision I have ever made in my life. Every day I fall more in love with coding because Matt has made the course understandable for beginners. I am so proud since I was able to code my first project and to have it working is such a great achievement for me!
Matt's lectures are very brief, precise and easy to understand. I loved how there was a practice question at the end of each topic, which allowed me to test my understanding, remember what I had learnt and sharpen my skills with each lesson. Now I can confidently build a basic interactive website.
Loved learning how to make dark mode
Been out of loop for a while due to personal engagements, but I came back and to my lovely surprise, AI basic has been added to the module. It was very easy to ease back into the flow of things and now I have a rudimentary understanding of how AI works, it can only get better.
This has been quite the experience for me, honestly! Fun, informative and a very big learning curve. I've loved every single minute of absorbing knowledge and creating, and just engaging with other peers on the course. Ultra grateful to Matt and the team for this opportunity, and i intend on making the most of it.

I love SheCodes Basic because it covers every detail one needs to know without making it boring or time-consuming. Instead, there are bite-sized lessons. Challenges at the end of each lesson stretched out my curiosity and creativity. I also loved that I could go on at my own pace and apply for extensions as many times as needed; As a slow learner, that worked out for me perfectly. I also received heart-warming feedback and friendly reminders in my email. To sum it up, it is a real honor and a unique opportunity to become a member of the SheCodes Community and get inspired and motivated by the amazing coding journey.

Loved the layout, introducing coding in an easy to understand way and then building with each lesson. It can be challenging but the lessons are in depth, the website has so many help options, as well as the slack community. This basic course has given me more confidence in my day job, as well as allowed me to realise that working within coding is accessible to me.

This course covers the basics of front-end coding very clearly while making learning incredibly fun. Any questions I had were quickly resolved. I loved having the opportunity to help out my fellow students, gaining more knowledge in the process, and being able to share what I was learning with others. My entire coding journey has been with SheCodes, but over the last few months I have been considering learning Python to add to my set of skills. Thankfully Matt created the python bundle course so I did not have to think twice about where to study Python from. LOVED IT. Easy to follow which made me gain confidence in my coding and lose the 'fear' of learning and tackling backend.

This was a super fun workshop, and I loved building a multipage website/portfolio as the final project - it really pulled together everything we've been taught since the Basic workshops, and I got a real sense of just how much I've learned so far. Also, I really liked learning how to use Bootstrap 🤓
I loved learning more about JavaScript and making my own weather project to learn how each function works. I went from knowing nothing about JS to building my own weather app!!
I can't say enough good things about my journey with SheCodes learning React. Matt's teaching style made everything click for me; his explanations were clear and easy to follow. Sure, I hit a few bumps along the way with debugging and Netlify, but those challenges only made the victories sweeter. What I loved most about SheCodes was the hands-on approach. The project was super fun and practical, also on my domain which is language, helping me really understand how React works in the real world. Plus, the community support made it feel like I was never alone in my learning journey. Now that I've submitted my final homework, I can't help but feel proud of how far I've come. Thanks to SheCodes, I've not only learned React but also gained confidence in my coding abilities. It's been an amazing experience, and I can't wait to see where my coding journey takes me next!
