I had so much fun making my second project! I feel like I've learned a lot more and I'm more confident now! I really enjoyed adding different effects to the images and getting better at HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I'm really proud of myself when I look at the project and think, "Did I really do this?" My name is Whitney Reed. I'm from Mississippi, but now living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Back, in 2019 and in 2021, I had got in trouble. I lost custody of my daughter to my aunt and uncle in Mississippi. In 2022, I was into a relationship not too long after that and I wasn't happy with my life and the choices i made in it. in 2023, I, then, decided to moved to New Orleans. My goal was to do DoorDash with my car and saving up money, but i ran my car down and sold it. After using up my money and resources, I called a friend up for advice on the next move. She suggests a shelter, so I look one up. The second listing on Google was the New Orleans Mission. It's a faith-based homeless shelter that has an amazing 1 year discipleship that gets people learned about God and help you get back to him. After that, they help people get back in society, and help people get back with their families. I'm a graduate of the program and now into the transition stage, where I'm working full-time and working on a car and housing and hopefully, reuniting with my daughter. It's wonderful. While I was there, I was thinking about get back to school, especially in computer and technology. I already went to four colleges, but i dropped out of all four (mainly because of the discussions). One day, when I finally did my research, I came into SheCodes and signed up in Novemeber 2023 on the Black Friday sale. So far, I love the setup. I like how Matt explains each lesson so well. I definitely like Athena AI in answering my questions so well and also the people over at Slack as well. I wanna thank the people responsible at SheCodes for giving women the chance to learn how to code. I appreciate it!
The SheCode Plus was quite challenging and interesting. I can now comfortably write codes in JavaScript. The lessons were detailed and very well explained. It was an overall excellent experience. Thanks to Matt.
Learning how to code with React was a big change, it made things more interesting but challenging at the same time. Matt always explains everything in a very clear and simple way, which makes the entire process more enjoyable.
This is probably one of the best coding courses! You gain a lot of knowledge with each lesson. And most importantly, everything is clear, structured and practical. I definitely recommend shecodes, I tried a few workshops before finding shecodes and it never lasted, but the teaching method that Matt created here makes it much easier for anyone who has never seen programming or knows the basics.
I've really enjoyed my time on SheCodes Basics as it's helped me revise the core elements of all three HTML, CSS and Javascript. The pace, information shared and the continued assurance from Matt during the videos has been great. I've been thinking about switching careers, and I came across SheCodes by chance. I've always enjoyed coding, but I've struggled to find clear information online and often felt lost trying to learn on my own. Luckily, SheCodes offers a complete course at a reasonable price compared to other options. While it was tough at times and I had to search for extra help online during the course, I managed to create my first project: a small webpage that I'm really proud of! I really enjoyed the workshop, Matt's explanations were very clear and he made things easy to understand. The homework and challenges were a great way to put new knowledge into practice.
Again it was a workshop where I learned valuable skills. I also could practice the techniques I learned in previous courses. It is rewarding to see the AI poem generator coming to life and providing the user with funny content ;) The hardest part for me was to describe the context in a way that would make AI deliver expected results. This was sometimes a bit annoying, because I already felt that the content provided was extremely detailed, plus I followed the guidance of Matt. So definetely a lot of patience may be necessary to test out ideas. Maybe it comes with more experience. All in all I liked the workshop and I am looking forward to the next courses.

A good build-up from the basic course. You learn a bit more in-depth from what was learned in the basic course, and a bit more about grid and the spacings within. I learned something new about fractional units which I didn't know about before. Matt, as usual, explained very well with examples so it's easier to figure out.
I must say, SheCodes have changed my life. Never thought I would be able to code a full website. I am very excited to keep going and learn more and more. I would recommend to anyone. Matt's way to explain is very clear and straight to the point. Would not change anything. Cant wait to improve my skills with Phyton now.

I had joined the She Codes workshop earlier this year and it has been a total eye-opener. The experience has been inspiring in the sense that i was able to learn and challenge myself and what i thought were my limitations. Despite my initial apprehensions, what started of as curiosity and an attempt to get out my comfort zone ,is proving to be a journey of personal growth and purpose. There were times i felt intimidated and way over my head ,but because of the way the lessons were structured i was able to understand , whilst having zero prior experience or knowledge in coding. Matt and his team's supportive approach and the warm atmosphere they created made it easier for me to engage and participate. Because the workshop is self-paced, i felt less pressured by time, the Slack app was a great platform to engage with other students so i didn't feel alone , even the She Codes Athena AI was a great tool for me and other introverts alike. It is truly all-inclusive. For that i would like to show my gratitude to Matt Delac and the She Codes family for allowing me the opportunity learn and grow ,She Codes has become my start, the foundation in my journey and its' a great way to start truly, I recommend She Codes ,more especially if you are like me, unsure of most things in life, self-doubting but curious and driven. Yet another great course. The way Matt explains things makes every new concept feel completely natural. I enjoyed exploring Bootstrap both within and beyond the lessons and had fun building the portfolio. (I spent ages coding it simply because I wanted to try everything).
This was a difficult course, not going to lie. I definitely had to go back and watch Matt's teachings multiple times and also google was my friend (thanks Matt for saying Google is ok!). Like usual his videos were really well explained, and I'd recommend SheCodes for anyone wanting to give React and software dev a go.
This was a fun workshop as it showed how to do things that I would have never guessed could be done with CSS. Matt really is a good instructor!
I spent many hours perfecting my landing page and it was well worth the effort! I learned how to work as a real developer creating this project. The SheCodes Plus workshop was not an easy one to learn, especially when it came to learning API Integration. Juggling work and learning coding was also not easy, but I managed to do it and get this certificate as the video lessons were not long and were precise. Matt is also very good at explaining things to a beginner. That is what made the lessons easy to understand. He teaches as if he knows what a beginner would most likely want to know.

As someone who already have experience within development, it's always nice to get the basics refreshed, but this is on the very basic level. I will definitely recommend the basic course to completely new developers, Matt is very good at descriping what he does and show helpful websites for specific situations. The homework is a good way of keeping you motivated and put to use what you have learned thoughout the week. The pacing is also super nice, you can take it in your own pace and I personally didn't feel rushed or felt it was too slow. But if you already have some experience in the field, unless you're looking to get some refreshers or are interested in some of the other SheCodes courses, I might look elsewhere.

Great workshop, but this was the most difficult one yet. For me, anyway! Thankfully Matt talks you through it the whole way as usual. :) It was very educational to build another weather app using React after having made one with vanilla JS earlier. It's useful to see two different approaches to the same kind of end result. And of course you end up with a great addition to your portfolio.

Never thought Python was something I could learn and tackle but Matt and SheCodes made it possible because of how the course is structured. Going step by step with detailed explanations about each lesson made it worth it to learn and now I can happily add Python to my set of coding skills!
I thoroughly enjoyed the SheCodes basic add-on project. I learned an interesting and useful feature called fractionals that I'll use for my projects. I also learned about the toggle function JavaScript which can be super useful in switching between states just at the click of a button! Thank you again, Matt, for an awesome class!
I am so glad I completed this workshop! I had so much fun completing all the challenges! I especially enjoyed the final project the most, I loved doing all the styling. I am also looking forward to completing other workshops as well. Matt is a really good teacher; his videos were very informative.
I had a blast learning to code with SheCodes, it has always been something that's interested me and I really enjoyed learning from Matt's videos as well as the community that's made available to work through everything, step by step! I feel empowered and grateful to have checked this off my list of things I wanted to try!
