βSince the moment I started with Shecodes Basics, I knew I wanted to learn more with SheCodes, which is why I came back for add-ons. The journey so far has been incredible. Iβve not only deepened my understanding of front-end development but also gained confidence in my coding abilities. With every new concept I learn, I realize how much I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of programming.
Returning to SheCodes felt like the right decision because the learning environment is structured yet flexible, allowing me to grow at my own pace. Each lesson builds on the last, reinforcing my knowledge while pushing me to think creatively. I love that I can apply what I learn immediately, turning ideas into functional projects.
As I continue this journey, Iβm excited to see where coding takes me. SheCodes has shown me that tech isnβt just for a select few, itβs a space where I belong, where I can innovate, and where I can build a future that aligns with my passions.β

βI have always been interested in tech engineering and the coding world since I was a child. When I first heard about it, I thought it was unattainable as I only saw white men in that industry. As I grew up, my aunt, who went into the data engineering industry, inspired me. I realized that as a black child, I could also be in that industry. For the love of STEM, I started my mechanical engineering degree at the esteemed University of the Witwatersrand. I was very excited because I got to keep the science in my engineering.
We were introduced to Python, and I enjoyed the journey as I could build interesting stuff from scratch. Turning nothing into something big gave me joy. Then I was introduced to MATLAB, which I took with me into my second year. I found it to be stressful as it was rushed, and there were always deadlines to meet. This made me understand things late as I would be rushing to finish my work along with other modules. My aunt told me about SheCodes, and I decided to try it out. It was scary at first as I was hearing things I didnβt know. I enjoyed learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I loved the way everything was explained, and I could have a 100% understanding of the concepts while also being challenged. I loved that it was self-paced, so I didnβt have to stress about it and could do it at my own pace. Iβm excited to learn more, but what I can say is SheCodes is amazing.β
