“I didn't except to run into as many challenges as I did. I would understand several lessons and then bam, get stuck on one for a while. I would get frustrated although it encouraged personal research and helped me discover answers to better understand what I'm learning and eventually I was able to piece it together. Learning coding is like learning a language. It is awesome to think that I'm adding that to my list of personal accomplishments. It has been an interesting journey so far and I have several more workshops to look forward too.”

“Shecodes crossed my path through my TikTok 'for you page', the gal was talking about a free coding workshop. I thought "It's free, why not check it out?". I missed the live workshop and to my surprise, I received a email with a recording of the workshop. While watching the workshop, I was thoroughly engaged through the entire video and thought "Oh my goodness, this is cool!" I knew I wanted to learn coding! I immediately contacted Shecodes to register. Silly me, I choose to start the workshop right before the holidays, which halted my progress a bit. After the beginning of the year, I began to focus. Learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript through the basics workshop has been exciting although I didn't realize it was going to come with some other emotional experiences. It was fun, challenging and frustrating; I even cried a few times. Through all of it, figuring things out, being able to complete the challenges and the homework; then have everything make sense with the Project is beyond personally rewarding!
