I just finished my weather project. Diving into advanced JavaScript is challenging and exciting at the same time. The explanations by Matt are encouraging and help me to understand the concept and finish the project. 💡
The idea of the intro course is to get you to think like a developer. Matt will always give you the basics so that you can apply it but will also leave space for you to do your research and discover how to get the task done. I think it's a great way to start & see if programming is something you will enjoy!

The course covers everything you need to know about React, from the basics like components and hooks to advanced topics like state management and context API. Each section is very well crafted with clear explanations, visual aids, and practical examples.
Very nice introductory course. The videos are clear and easy to follow, all challenges are interesting and a good learning experience. The first week was a bit overwhelming with all the different coding languages but the second and third weeks were a lot better :) Looking forward to the next workshop.

It was really exciting to work on a responsive project because I have always wanted to know how to make websites more user-friendly on mobile devices. I especially liked that we were able to create something that showcased all of our projects. I liked how the lessons kept things simple (focusing on the things that are necessary to know as a developer) and also included how a professional developer would work from a design/ wireframe.
The course is amazing and flexible! I was able to learn at my pace and complete the assignments on time. The lessons were engaging and informative on learning to code and the different programming languages!

One of the most exciting aspects of this project was learning how to work with API calls, handle data efficiently, and ensure the app provided accurate and timely weather updates. From designing the UI to implementing features like location-based weather and multi-day forecasts, this project has given me a solid understanding of full-stack development. The process of debugging and refining the app also enhanced my problem-solving skills, teaching me the importance of persistence and attention to detail. I’m proud of the final product—a weather app that is not only functional but also visually appealing and responsive. This project has solidified my confidence in developing real-world applications and has prepared me for future challenges in the tech industry.
Everyday feels like a dream. When I think of few months back when I knew nothing about developing and now, I have successfully completed my second project. I really love SheCodes and the platform, the pace and the methods of study used. I am surely letting females around me know and join.

I was thrilled to discover SheCodes, as it offered a beacon of hope during a challenging time. Despite completing a Software Development degree, I struggled to learn coding due to the constraints of studying during the COVID-19 pandemic, including inadequate resources and internet connectivity in Africa. These obstacles made me doubt my abilities and feel uncertain about my future. Even after graduation, I lacked confidence in my skills and struggled to engage in conversations about my degree. Because of this I've been working in an unrelated field. I had given up on coding. Learning about SheCodes has been a game-changer. I'm grateful to have been a part of the SheCodes Plus workshop, after coming from the SheCodes Basics, I felt a bit more equipped and motivated to complete my certification on time(even though I had to change my start date twice,hehe, I still managed to push through on time). A very challenging course this was! As challenging as it was, Matt made it easier to learn and understand. I had a great time learning React and I think I have found my stack. It is so far my favourite language.
SheCodes Python Basics introduces you to the fundamentals of Python in a challenging yet step-by-step manner, making it ideal for beginners.
It was really great to work on the final project and to put into practice all the new skills aquired.
Matt explains everything on details, the short videos with challenges helps to practice and fix the content learned. It's being a really nice experience so far.
I actually studied coding in high school but it was in Java which I found quote boring. But with SheCodes it was interactive and I could use my creativity and a mixture of code to bring my ideas to life. It definitely helped with keeping my attention and keeping me engaged. I absolutely loved this course and I can't wait to continue on and be able to make my more complex ideas to life.
