Mỹ Sơn, located in Quảng Nam province, Vietnam, is a cluster of abandoned Shaiva Hindu temples dating from the 4th to the 14th century. Built by the Kings of Champa, these temples are dedicated to the worship of God, particularly Shiva (Bhadreshvara). The site, recognized as the My Son Sanctuary by UNESCO, was a religious and burial ground for Champa royalty. During the Vietnam War, much of its architecture was destroyed by US bombing. Despite this, Mỹ Sơn remains a significant archaeological site, representing the evolution and extinction of an Asian civilization.
